Today, I'm going to fly QantasLink to Moree, northwest NSW, why would I go there? Why would I go there? Because the aircraft that Qantas uses on this route is a Bombardier Dash 8 -200, the smallest aircraft type in Qantas family! Is Dash 8-200 better than the Saab 340? Let's find out in this video!

I would love to see more about the small towns that you visit and stuff that you typically do after landing. Because I really want to visit regional NSW too.
TO THIS DASH 8 BLOGGER, MANY THANKS FOR THIS QANTAS AIRLINK Q200 FLIGHT, AND TO THOSE REGIONAL FLYERS, CONGRATS!!
Another great report, Rory. I'm planning a trip to Moree soon for the hot springs, and this was helpful.
as always love your trip reports, very informative and easy to watch.
Thank you ☺️
Omg my old job!! I remember flying to NTL and then a long two hour flight to MEL :)
Really enjoy your experiences... 🙏
Awesome video Rory!
You’re so brave to fly on these little planes. I caught one for work from Perth to Esperance for work with my boss.
I am a bit of a nervous flyer as it is but he didn’t warn me it was this type of plane.
When we were told to board the bus I asked why, my boss pointed out to the plane. I swear I almost pooped my pants lol.
The entire flight I had my fingers digging into his thigh 😂
Needless to say the trip back my boss took me to the pub first and we had a very enjoyable flight home 🤣
That's so cool being on such a rare aircraft!
It is indeed!!
Great video. Enjoyed every minute of this flight. QantasLink is the best. Thank you.
Thank you 😊
I did the return sector last night in vh-tqs. Captain shut down the starboard engine over musswelbrook due to low oil pressure and we landed on the third runway on one engine. Highly professional crew for such a tiny aircraft - at 27 years old i suspect it is older than Rory.
Enjoyed your video. AND. Previous to the Dash 8, the only aircraft on the Syd to Lord Howe Island route (said as 'ROOT' in Aussie) were two Ansett Flying Boat Services, Short Sandringhams, a four engined very large Flying Boat converted from the RAF Sunderland of WW2 Anti Submarine & Coastal Command & a famous English aircraft often called the 'flying porcupine' due its many gun positions/turrets. However, the Bombardier Dash 8 replaced when the short difficult runway was built on the island, due to the dangers of landing flying boats on open seas, especially in heavy seas. ps. Moree is mainly known for its cotton crops and is further west than your pic showed. thanks again.
Thank you for your informative comments and the corrections in my other videos.☺️ and yeah wasn’t sure about the pronunciation of ”root” I’ll be sure to correct it in my future videos.
I have found the Dash 8 to be comfortable personally.
Nawwwwwww what a cute little plane and those views were really pretty and loved seeing the Hawksberry river 👌
HHaha
Yeah it was a very cute plane
Thanks for stalking my videos 😁😁
@@RoryDing haha you're welcome 👀🤣🤣🤣
At 1:33 that was the gate I boarded through for my flight to Tasmania!
Nice video
Thank you
Please show the town or city around you land so that we enjoy how the town life look like and any sight seeing in particular region etc
I tried to make travel vlogs(there’s a playlist called travel vlogs in my channel) but the views I get are significantly lower than other videos so I stopped making them
@@RoryDing please start again thanks
This dash 8 is my new fave aircraft type!
haha it is better than saab340
Have you tried virgin’s atr 72 before?
@@RoryDing I like it way better than the Saab 340. It's a lot quieter and the wings are above you.
How do u like moree so far?I live here btw
I live in Moree!
at 10:59 you flew past the place were qantas A380s and 747's are parked
the big ones
Whats turbulence like on such a plane it any better or worse than a 737?
It’s much smaller and lighter than 737 so it’s worse 😊
Little qantaslink plane
looks like you landed on runway 19
Yeah! I felt lucky that get to see the town before landing
I have the Geminijets 1/400 model and it’s so tiny!
Must be very cute haha
I’ve seen one at Hobbyco in Sydney years ago
You chopped out the last bit of the approach to landing. To an avgeek like me, that's an automatic thumbs down.
In view of your response on another video, I have changed this to a thumbs up.
Swiss001 here it is a tiger air landing not a butter
Wanna kiss u
