i was gonna say the opposite. background is all black. this is a product review video so more lighting should be used to clearly show the product. use of lighting is horrible.
I love Klipsch speakers. I had 3 sets until my beloved RSX-4s from my modest living room system died. I have Klipsch towers in my main system and SB2 Synergy speakers in my home office. I love a little extra on the top end, even back in the 70s when I had perfect hearing. Now even more so.
Just picked up a pair for my 20x15ft bedroom and they are excellent. There is much more bass than I expected. I have them around 12 inches from the back wall. I’m using the Denon x1700h with a 5.0 set up and there is plenty of power for these bookshelves. I was planning on getting a subwoofer but feel it is not necessary. At reference level the Klipsch are freakin loud but the tweeter is well controlled unlike the earlier models.
Very good demonstration on these Klipsch 600M Mark 2s. I've got a pair of Klipsch R-51Ms connected to a vintage harman kardon 490i Receiver as my second hi fi audio system; sounds pretty good to me. However, these 600MII certainly have more actual bass! If any more low frequency is really needed then a dedicated music fan has got to get a subwoofer.🔉🎵🎶
Which would you recommend for Rock / Metal? ELAC Debut 3.0 (5.5” or 6.5”) vs RP600M / 500M (versions 1 or 2). Looking for excitement. I have Emotiva B1+ and think they’re too tame / linear
I love mine. And so do my friends. Some ask to barrow them. But that will not happen. RSW-12 duel driving sub hits the sweet spot when pushed with a Marantz mm amp.
Great review. I’ve also seen your video on the Dali Oberon 3, if you pick one for mixed music/movies use with a Sub, which one would it be? I won’t have the chance to listen before buying, both seem to be great speakers. Thanks!
My whole 7.2.4 setup is piano black. RP600M for the bed layer, with an RP504C, and RP500SA. The piano black just makes them all look even more expensive than they really are.
My opinion on piano black is, I like it. But if something is made with it that your not going to constantly touch, I think it's great, speakers enclosures maybe. But having a car with piano black molding, Huge NO!
Hi, I bought RP-600M about 5 years ago. Last week I was blasting some house music really loud through a cambridge audio streamer. My listening room is small square, as in 12ft x 12ft. I sit 7.5ft away from the speakers in a couch. The speakers are on a tv stand 2.5ft apart from eachother and 4.5" away from the wall. The Left cabinet woofer is dead. Tweeter is working. I removed the woofer to see the cone is almost separated and when I push it in and out I hear grinding/scratchy sound. I also noted after taking off the grill, there are dimples on the gold coloured centre area of the woofer. I am very sad to see this happen and seek your advice. My hifi setup is fairly a complex one. I have 3 dbx sound processors going into a Hitachi preamp which goes to a NAD 2200 Envelope Power Amp. With the help of a switch, I also can toggle between the NAD amp and a Marantz 250M power amp. What I think I've done is while engaging and disengaging different bass boost settings in the 3 dbx sound processors, I've put too much load onbthe speakers. I am not a techy guy, just assuming. Would you recommend I buy RP-600M II and just be careful before boasting frequencies while volume is loud or search for a new replacement woofer. Appreciate if you could kindly give me some direction. Loved watching your video. Thanks.
Sounds like you were blasting your music and blew your speaker. 🔈 It happens, too much of a good thing right? I’d just be careful in the future. Those speakers don’t need a lot of power to get loud, so if you were really cranking it that amp probably just pushed it too hard.
@mykandrew Thanks for your prompt reply. You are right, I just cranked up the volume too much while using the sound processor features, i.e., subharmonics, LF boost, Impact recovery. I'll be careful to the extent of not using the sound processors. Can't afford to blow up speakers again. I think for starters I'll look out for a replacement woofer. If I can't find one, I'll buy the RP-600M II.
@ agreed! A little EQ goes a long way too. Question for you. I have them paired with dual SVS sb 3000. I was planning on upgrading to the sb4000 and I’ve watched your review on that. How do you think the RP600 would do with the SB4000’s?
Speaking about just Audio I sent my vintage Marantz 2265 B for repair twice they did a lousy job the R channel still sounds low and distorted I'm very disappointed
Klipsch speakers sound awsome at relatively low volume, at high volume they're ear killers, if they could just tame that stupid horn speaker, they would be GREAT.
Thank you Sir! Please help ! I’m torn between the 6000Mii and the 600MII. I can purchase either. Will use in a 20 by 30 foot room. Which sounds better? Are they equal? Simple, direct answer PLEASE. Thank you Sir!
@ Thank you! I PROMISE I will. I will use a Klipsch 12 inch sub with. I was hoping that you would say. that the 6000M II sounded significantly better! As stated previously, I can purchase either, but I have heard neither in person.
I've owned Klipsch floor standing and Klipsch The Fives. At $350 Triangle Bro3 are more balanced and nuetral. Those 600's are too shouty for me and they look cheap.
There’s no such thing as another person doing the heavy lifting when it comes to choosing speakers for another person no, we all must do our own research
Check out the upgrade / fixes by Danny Richie at GR-Research for these and many other Klipsch models to fix the messed up frequency responses. What Klipsch have done with the Mark 2’s is simply moving loosely in the direction of what Danny did to fix the first version but Klipsch didnt finish the job, so go get the GR-Research upgrade to fix the frequency response and massively upgrade the parts quality. And Klipsch’s rated sensitivity is wildly inflated and they are not an easy amplifier load either unless you do the GR upgrade
I have now experienced both and I feel the Bro3 is alot more balanced, however, paired with the right amp these Klipsch aren't bad at all. It's all about how you pair your components and speakers.
No it's not worth 900 $cdn ,what a farce ! 450 $cdn and not on sale ! It's a shouty shitty speaker .The people that praise it haven't heard anything higher up ! Almost 1000 $ for a shitty box ,no bracing ,a 10$ tweeter in a plastic ''horn'' with a crappy crossover network .Remember it's 600USD$ ! I love the ''Heritage series '' BUT it's 2X the price it should be.20,000$cdn for La Scala ! 20,000!!!
Klipsch over rated the sensitivity, this has been proven already, and the first version lacks in midrange, I bought the first version when they first came out, they suck, I got a pair of bowers and wilkins 606 s2 , I love them, I may get a pair of the 2nd version of Klipsch if I can find them on sale
That’s funny, I wasn’t too happy with the Bowers. All of these lower end bookshelf speakers are mass produced and slapped together with off the shelf stuff so I don’t expect much these days
@mykandrew me and my wife love them, I'm classic rock, she's country, of course it comes down to room acoustics, placement, etc, we have the Marantz nr 1200 receiver and 6007 cd player , 12 guage svs brand speaker cables and audio quest evergreen analog interconnect , pink floyd and Bob Seger sound awesome 👍
I can’t get over how good your lighting has gotten. Keep you the great work!
Thank you so much!
i was gonna say the opposite. background is all black. this is a product review video so more lighting should be used to clearly show the product. use of lighting is horrible.
$454, free shipping. Crutchfield. Excellent speakers for the money. Nice review, thank you.
Great deal for sure
YESS! piano black is a must 👌
I agree!!
Very nice. You would love these RP600M II's!
I loath Klipsch speakers! I have SVS Ultra Books and love them!!!
@@thegoat164 Have you heard the RP600M Mark 2s in person?
I'm using these in a 7.1 system with an RSL speed woofer 12S subwoofer. Works well together.
Just picked them up with the RP-600C center channel for $700 during black friday.
Piano Black Wood!! YES!
Pure elegance.
👍👍
I love piano black

I had a set of 600m's and found them harsh and lacking presence. The MII are a vast improvement.
Which would you recommend for Rock / Metal? ELAC Debut 3.0 (5.5” or 6.5”) vs RP600M / 500M (versions 1 or 2).
Looking for excitement. I have Emotiva B1+ and think they’re too tame / linear
The rp600mii vs wharfedale Linton? Which would you rather? They’re both similar in price here in Australia when stands are factored in
That's a hard one. I really like both. If I had to choose one, I would go Wharfedale.
Triangle bro 3 sale for 539 euros in Greece. Klipsch rp 600m2 sale for 750. Should i go for the Triangle set? Thank you in advance...
I have a marantz 2218 and 2215. I have the chance to get a pair Klipsch rp600m first generations for $350. Is this a good move or should I wait?
Are they the black glossy ones?
No. Just regular black
Would you consider getting your hands on the Edifier S3000 PRO? I just can't seem to find any decent reviews.
I love mine. And so do my friends. Some ask to barrow them. But that will not happen. RSW-12 duel driving sub hits the sweet spot when pushed with a Marantz mm amp.
You don’t need an anechoic chamber - just do a gated time window in REW. Oh and measure the off-axis response
Great review. I’ve also seen your video on the Dali Oberon 3, if you pick one for mixed music/movies use with a Sub, which one would it be?
I won’t have the chance to listen before buying, both seem to be great speakers.
Thanks!
I think you and I may be the last people on planet earth who like piano black.
Lol I think you might be right

It depends on the application. I like piano black as well. Just not on the interior of a car.

I’ve got the piano black klipsch RP 600m. The ONLY reason I got them over the II is the piano black finish.
Honestly they sound incredible and the piano black would’ve sold me too!
@ agreed! A little EQ goes a long way too. Question for you. I have them paired with dual SVS sb 3000. I was planning on upgrading to the sb4000 and I’ve watched your review on that. How do you think the RP600 would do with the SB4000’s?
The piano blk is my favorite!
Great speakers definitely better than the Br03s .
Do these sound decent on a desk without stands? Or do they get boomy that way?
I want all piano black!
Me too!
I was thinking of these with the Cinema 70s for my living room TV.
Sir i will like to pair this with a yamaha as301?
Speaking about just Audio I sent my vintage Marantz 2265 B for repair twice they did a lousy job the R channel still sounds low and distorted I'm very disappointed
Is that a horn or a wave guide?
Wave guide. Everybody gets this,wrong.
All horns are waveguides but not all waveguides are horns. To qualify as a horns there must be passive gain as well as guiding the waves.
Klipsch speakers sound awsome at relatively low volume, at high volume they're ear killers, if they could just tame that stupid horn speaker, they would be GREAT.

I would do 600M II, use my link 🔗 in the description for my trouble 😂

I've never been Bi-amp or bi-wire curious. I'm a straight to competent amp.
I've owned Klipsch floor standing and Klipsch The Fives.

A friend has a pair of these. I personally find them a bit harsh & fatiguing. I own some Triangle Bro 3s & like them much better.
I have now experienced both and I feel the Bro3 is alot more balanced, however, paired with the right amp these Klipsch aren't bad at all. It's all about how you pair your components and speakers.
Fatiguing ear bleeders.
The Klipsch 600 II are a much better speaker over-all. Much better bass extension. Also a lot more dynamic!
All these Klipsch book shelf speakers suffer from mid band resonance
Dust exists... Therefore Piano Black is the worst finish EVER, for anything ever... Just No.

hello, check triangle borea bro3 or klipsch rp600 II? for rock.
RP600 II and it's not even a contest. You're going to need a sub-woofer with the Bro3 because it's bass is very lackluster.
