The ABBA-member who sang in most languages was Björn, as Hootenanny Singers recorded in many: Swedish, English, German, Finnish, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch and many others. Anni-Frid has recorded in Swedish, German, English, French, Spanish, Italian - strangely enough no Norwegian. Agnetha sung in Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish. Benny in German, Swedish, English, Dutch, and Swahili. The amout of languages is because of their groups.
Lena, the 3rd ABBA girl. 1. Anni-Frid - mezzo-soprano 2. Agnetha - soprano 3. Lena - soprano ABBA ABBL Lena was Polar Music'stop soprano. She was a big deal. Signed as a teen. If ABBA was not a coupled group, Lena could have been a possibility.
@chocolatepoundcake She's not Benny's wife. She was a Swedish schlager singer in the first half of the 70s and then went on to be a backing singer on ABBA's world tours.
So why didn't ABBA complete an album of their hits in German. They did a nice job with Spanish and eventually an album appeared. But, with only three songs recorded in German it fell to others to record them. I think Lena Andersson is a very acceptable alternative, especially with the help of ABBA behind her.
A mi tambien me encanta el idioma aleman de hecho la estoy estudiando y es una mier... pero con añitos de dedicacion la podre4 hablar de manera fluida con esta cacnion he aprendido vocabulario
I have been a fan of ABBA for years. I had never heard of Lena Andersson before, until now. I really like this version of "SOS" and "Hasta Manana". Thank you for posting these. By the way, does Lena Andersson have other songs in German?
Nobody should do a song that Agnetha (or Agnetha & Frida) have already done. They may do a good job, but it won't be as good as Agnetha and/or Frida. That's just the way it is.
How did Benny have the nerve to re-record this song with his new wife?!?!? Maybe there's more to it that I don't know, but out of context this seems real jerky towards Agnetha. When was this?
the more you delve into abba the more there is to discover
Later in 1977 she was the backing vocalist for their songs. Most known, Get on the carousel

When Agnetha was pregnant Lena was brought in to cover her place if im correct. She went on to tour with Abba providing backing vocals .
No it was Inger Brundin Heinerborg! Lena was backup vocals.

To me, when Lena Andersson sings some of these songs in German, it almost sounded like Nana Mouskouri. :|
Esta Lena era coro de ABBA , ¿ no...
Warum singt sie diese Lieder? Gehörte sie dem Polar-Stall?

She was NOT married or related to Benny and Benny wasn't married to Agnetha
Ich dachte, sie wäre Country.
