- Today we will show you how to unlock the top speed for the Sur Ron X Electric Dirt Bike. The bike comes with speed limitation from the manufacturer but we are going to show you how to remove that limitation and be able to use the bike to it's full capacity.

I got my X model about 3 weeks ago and the wire was pre cut. I just turn on sport mode when I go off roading. Very convenient for riding around city when in eco mode too. Cheers.

@@jacobkerr5684 It's honestly super sick. I don't regret the purchase. The torque and power is just right. Most cops won't mess with you if you're being smart on it and treating it like a moped.. but if you're doing wheelies and shit then yeah they're gonna pull you over hahaha.
Also, if you're used to actual gas motorcycles then you might be disappointed with the power, however, look at the "BAC4000" upgrade on RUclips. Search "BAC4000 wake up your bike surron x". It's by a channel called "sage sends". This mod makes it EXTREMELY fast and powerful for such a light bike.

Just got mine within this week and do have to have to cut this wire, also this batch around this time is RST Killah forks, wouldve wanted the DNM Volcano forks but its not bad so far
Just got my Sur-ron from you guys... mine does 52kph in sport and more than 30 in eco
can i reduce the speed to 30 in eco and increase in sport? 72kph is top speed but i cant hit that.
So do you cut the green wire or the green and black wire. Cutting the green one might be a problem

no it shouldn’t 👍 saw some people did that as an option and it works just as good 👍

It does the job
New bikes have a switch that when flipped into Sport makes it hit 45mph, so I don't think you need to do this anymore...that's how mine is. BMS is the next bottleneck, but no one should be messing with that on the stock battery.
Your wire could have been precut when you got it. As they still require this to be done on the 2020 models to pass 32km/h
Just got my X. Took on first ride up a big hill on Oregon coast. Never even put in sport mode. Did full throttle in eco a few times. Man so much power. I’ll check to see if I have the looped green wire.

Hi. Finally I see the unlocking video with homologated version. How's riding specs -top speed, power etc.- after that, is that similar to the dirt-bike-ish model?
Sur-Ron has lots of power. Acceleration is same as locked vs. unlocked. The only difference is top speed and when going top speed you will rapidly deplete battery state of charge. More energy consumption.
@@epiccycles9 yeah, I see that, what I meant was if there are differences in performance between unlocked street legal vs. Light bee X that is dirtroads only. (In EU law at least)

If you don’t cut the wire does it like bog down and lose power when you reach higher speed? Mine is doing that and I’m wondering if I need to cut it? Help!

My 2019 doesn’t come with a looped green/black wire only a solid green. Am I missing something?
Yes it can be hidden inside the wire jacket, watch our video from the 30 second mark as reference to what I'm referring to

Hello, Your bike top speed is fully unlocked. You do not need to do any additional modifications.

Hi Noam. As the mechanic mentioned, you will be cutting the green looped wire. I would suggest turning the sound, or the subtitles on before you do this modification to your bike.

@@noambitton3837 there are two green wires, one going into the main wire harnedss which you dont want to touch and then there is a geen/black wire you want which is looped and usually hidden inside the sleeve (green mixed with black)

Got mine two weeks ago and it does 28mph in eco mode which was plenty, til I got used to it lol. My sport mode did not go past 30 so may need to cut the wire. Still waiting on the larger sprocket and BAC 4000 controller I ordered almost a month ago😒

@@ellestar2306 Yes ! Totally different bike now. It’s pretty easy You just got a find that green wire… at first it looks like it’s all tangled up but if you just keep pulling on it it’ll come out as one piece it’s a little nerve-racking but go on RUclips and you’ll figure it out

It doesn't affect your bike in any negative way except from decrease your battery range as on eco mode it will have a 60 mile range while doing 45mph you only have a 20 mile range
@@jameszhou7112 I ended up cutting the wire yesterday but didn't get to test the speed - although I did get it to 32mph.
My work route is about 22 miles Round-trip, and would only use extra speed going through 2 parts of that trip. I'm just hoping I won't have to bring my charger to work. Before the cut at 100% I'd make it back home at about 50%. As I usually stick to eco.

@@ellestar2306 yh sounds alright as long as you don't go 45mph all the way there and back it sounds good. How ever I personally would just buy a bigger battery so it lasts a lil longer for the safety of it or bring the charger 👍

You're already unlocked. They used to come locked at 20 Mph, but some new stock is already coming unlocked.

@@user-px6qe2qm8p that's some serious power. We ourselves don't carry smaller sprockets but im sure you can find them if you need it. If you do happen to find one that works let me know, I'd be interested to hear about it. Good luck and stay safe!

You have unleashed Warp Speed, it would feel like it is on stand still but that is because it is so fast time is moving backwards.
