I gotta say profile vids you and J Kyle Mann did on SGA really helped me understand the kind of skillset he has and what to expect of his game as he matured. Didn't really factor in his improved lower body strength but the result is exactly a better burst on his drive overall. Which led more consistent ways to finish at the hoop and the ability to hone on a mid-range game. Kinda explains how his 3FGAs from early his career tailed off (but as mentioned he's still a good spot up 3-ball threat). I think he could find his way in the last spot of the top 10 players of 2022-23 season given his dominance as a regular season scorer. But I too am curious how his game opens up if he gets talent thats as good/just a notch below his level that he can play with.

He is scoring 30 points and is multi-dimensional as a passer and rebounder and a plus defender (until this year). The only knock on him could be that he is on a rebuilding team. BUT, these are not empty stats - his offensive efficiency is still elite among guards. Had he had a few veterans, he would lead them to playoffs. OKC is just in a deep rebuild mode and it is hurting his standing among casual fans.
This may not be under the typical scope of your videos, but I'd love to see some analysis comparing workload intensity from the 80s to today. We hear so much info on how grueling the NBA schedule is and why we need a decompressed schedule with more off days, fewer back-to-backs, no more 4 games in 5 days, etc., yet players in the past played more games and more minutes per game. I figured if any NBA analyst could give some insights, it'd be this channel.
SGA is a future Superstar if he can consistently break down opposing defences with his craftiness and decision making. Currently this season SGA is the third best offensive orchestrater behind luka and jokic
I think one aspect of tanking overlooked is the coaching. Do teams get bad coaches just to tank? Or do they genuinely want a good coach and they excuse bad play because of a lack of talent? SGA is a stud. However, the Thunder should be getting better. Better discipline and teamwork. Perhaps we will see how winning is impacted when Shai gets a good team around him.
7:46 what's also interesting in that possesion against the Magic is that Shai had been studying Franz Wagner all game and purposefully gave him his left side, knowing Wagner is more comfortable going right.
on SGA defense - I think he has some fundamental issues but it's mostly small things that are mitigated by his elite mobility and size. The bigger issue is that he is simply asked to do too much on OKC. He is the engine scorer and overused guys like that always lose steam on defense. Tatum and Brown, both, became far weaker defenders over the last few years vs. earlier in their careers for the same reason - they do too much on the offensive end. If Chet gets healthy and Williams and Giddey develop, next year OKC could become far more balanced and then SGA could shine again as a defender.
Shai's gonna be the jordan or kobe of this era. 6'6 shooting guard with quick first step and craftiness to finish in the rim. Only need to show a killer instinct and a good coaching since he had all the best team mates in the world right now okc has tremendous amount of talent

I like the way you described his defense: "leaky"
sga is that next line of big uk guards who develop better in the league (ie dbook & jmurray) hopefully shaedon sharpe is next up too
And the fact OKC could get the 1st pick in next year’s draft is scary
Shai has such a unique playstyle, def my fave player rn #CanadaRepresent
you ever think players watch videos like this about themselves and r like "damn yeah I am really nice though"
😭
Hundred percent
SGA is a future Superstar if he can consistently break down opposing defences with his craftiness and decision making. Currently this season SGA is the third best offensive orchestrater behind luka and jokic
he is criminally underrated
Cool video, but what happened to top 10 players of the 21-22 season?
Can we get a video on Westbrook’s defence. His advanced stats are bad but I think recently the eye test says otherwise
yup
Thanks for the vid
I think one aspect of tanking overlooked is the coaching. Do teams get bad coaches just to tank? Or do they genuinely want a good coach and they excuse bad play because of a lack of talent? SGA is a stud. However, the Thunder should be getting better. Better discipline and teamwork. Perhaps we will see how winning is impacted when Shai gets a good team around him.
they been talking about him saying hes next up for years. now he here
7:46 what's also interesting in that possesion against the Magic is that Shai had been studying Franz Wagner all game and purposefully gave him his left side, knowing Wagner is more comfortable going right.
or...he read it in the scouting report?
It’s called a scouting report
Top 10 2022?
on SGA defense - I think he has some fundamental issues but it's mostly small things that are mitigated by his elite mobility and size.
Pls make a vid for Jalen Brunson! Dude should be an all star
lol looking back on this he said possible all nba ... how bout 1st team
Thunder Fans as a Knicks fan would you be willing to trade him and what for. I swear I’d give up all 11 picks and whatever else
We wouldn’t trade him for literally anything. He’s completely untouchable lol.
Shai's gonna be the jordan or kobe of this era. 6'6 shooting guard with quick first step and craftiness to finish in the rim. Only need to show a killer instinct and a good coaching since he had all the best team mates in the world right now okc has tremendous amount of talent
if he played on a more popular/watched or played w a older star (lebron/kawhi/kd ect) he would def be pushed more by the media. he plays like a superstart tho
1.7 steals per game and 1.1 blocks per game while averaging 30 efficiently. You're way too harsh on his defense, don't think I saw a single blocked jumpshot in the video and he's had plenty defending guys in isolation this season.
U do know he could be a good defender and still have things he could work on
@cook n of course. He highlights far more weaknesses than strengths on defense in the video. Its not representative of how Shai's played on that end this season.
Patiently waiting for that Zion video still
Can you make a video on Lauri Markkanen, another MIP frontrunner this season?
having his offensive impact without taking many threes and not having a respectably spaced lineup is insane
He has led me to the #1 seed in fantasy😆
He bringing that mid game back which i love from Kobe
Nets and Kings fan. He's an all star.

SGA was underrated af
Bro is gonna be the Best Canadian basketball player ever I really could see him getting bigger out here once okc starts getting better
It would be hard to beat Nash, we can only wait and see
Needs to come back to Canada
