We just got home from Khaosiung. We stayed in the 85 on the 23rd floor, facing the harbour. We loved it. Sad to see how faded it is. It is iconic and I would love to see it be revived. We saw it in its heyday and made it up to the observation deck and we are glad we had the chance.
Bob, Happy new year 2025, Kaohsiung city seems to be a place where is your option of retirement that is a honor of Taiwanese. Especially you are from Canada so far away distance. Even if just staying here for one or two seasons to escape colder weather. But hope enjoying your day in Taiwan.

As a foreigner, I have a unique perspective on Taiwan. And I was here before it became such a modern, clean and wealthy place. I think I was lucky that I went away for fifteen years and came back with fresh eyes.
Black tea is oolong tea (not red tea 🥵). We do have 小朋友 parade about 50 years ago (you just missed it)it’s mixed cultures now.🤨..like your translation about 85 😂😂😂
