Antigun groups like crazy moms against self defense have seized upon THAT phrase and have tried twisting its meaning. Constitutionalists have not let them though!
When were were taught gun safety in school, had school rifle teams and even carried rifles and shotguns in the back windows of our trucks parked in the STUDENT parking lots, we didn’t have school shootings!!
We even had indoor shooting ranges under the gymnasium! We carried our .22 rifles in cases and locked em in our lockers for team practices or tournaments! The problem is that the youth have been ROBBED of their education of and use of weapons. When my grandpa passed away my grandma got in big trouble and the TFA went after her.
Grandpa still had his M1 Grand rifle from WW2. After the war he stayed connected to the Army trough being in the reserves. At that time in Monticello, KY the reserve armorys weapons locker was not big enough to store all the weapons for all the reservists. The higher ranks got to keep their weapons at home. Grandpa was a Command Master Stargent. The there was a fire in the armory that destroyed all the records of who had what weapons. So he ended up with his M1 Rifle and 30 clips and 300 rounds of ammo, a Thompson Sub machine gun with 25 magazines and 600 rounds of ammo, a .50Cal Browning heavy machine gun with 50 of cans belted ammo, his .45 pistol with 6 clips and 200 rounds, and suvaniers from the war that included a German Lugar that was a gift to a Japanese officer as it had a Japanese inscription on the barrel, from the same officer a set of long and short with stand Samari swords that were at least 4 generations old, a short matching dagger 🗡, three fragmentation granades, and then from the Korean War an officers gun, a ceremonial sword, and then from Vietnam a very early production rough around the edges questionable if it would work AK-47 with 3 magazines and 200 rounds, a machete and a NVA combat knife 🔪.
Grandma after a few months called the Sheriff who was not a friend of the family. So he escalated everything by calling the ATF and FBI on Grandma. It took a while for them to figure out that Grandma knew nothing about fire arms and that she was not responsible for them being in the basement in a few Sea chest. They took all the weapons right away. Funny thing is they gave her the M1 back after they removed the firing pin and welding the bolt in place.
Thankfully she had a very good lawyer and a sympathetic judge and ultimately a TFA prosecuting manager that saw the situation for what it really was and dropped all charges against her so long as she did not buy a gun for five years afterwards.

You just don't get it, this is GLOBAL arms trafficking, what the documentary is eluding to, without saying it, is the Governments of weapons producing countries are feeding conflicts for profit. Example: Mexico, the cartels have the money to buy the latest weapons, so covert agencies like the CIA will provide them. More $$$ in the Black Op's fund. Then of course the Mexican government will buy the latest weapons, legally, from American arms manufacturers. The politicians who have stakes in said companies make $billions at both ends. That's why you'll never see an end to drug trafficking, war's or terrorism, it's all about the Benjamin's £$£$.
