ISP Snaphots: Italy with Iowa State University

In April 2024, we took a group from Iowa State University across Italy to uncover the agricultural and gastro economy of the food capital of Europe. We started with Bologna's iconic landmarks and delved into the world of Italian excellence with visits to Maserati and Carpigiani Group before enjoying some free days exploring Bologna or Florence.
The group discovered the secrets of olive oil production at Frantoio Valsanterno, the richness of local agriculture at Gruppo Granarolo, and participated in hands-on cooking classes. Another highlight was a visit to Lavazza in Turin for a coffee tasting and a free afternoon to soak in the local culture.
