Note that this video is a recording of my demo, not live gameplay. Also note that I extended the end screen during editing, as I accidentally moved onto the next map when bringing up the stats faster.
The UV Fast category requires completing a level on ultra-violence, with all monsters killed at least once (except lost souls), all secrets triggered, and with fast monsters enabled. The solo-net parameter enables additional co-op monsters and items in a single-player environment. This combination is listed as Ultra-Violence+ in Bethesda's Unity engine port.
Why this map? I was discussing James Paddock's music with someone and the track for this level (Faultine) came up as it's one of my favourites, and fits this map so well. BtSX Ep1 has a lot of great levels, but this is one of the most memorable for me, given that it was a "what the hell" moment when playing for the first time with all the roaming Archviles and no idea where to go, but ended up really fun after locating all the items and working out a strategy.
So I decided to try it with co-op monsters for the first time and up the ante with fast monsters too, as I hadn't seen it done that way before. Boy was I in for a surprise, given I'm not the greatest player, and forgot how evil some fast monsters are! Initially I was just trying to find a tactic to survive, rather than speedrun, but I looked back at each completion (between many failures) and noticed areas where I could be more efficient and shave off time. Across four completions I managed to drop the time down by almost a full two minutes, so I'm pretty pleased with the result, and decided to stop there (especially as I believe the current UV Max record is only just over a minute faster).
