    You know the best thing about your videos? Is that instead of memorisation, like Khan Academy, you explain the concept and reasoning behind everything, so you end up subconsciously memorising everything anyway, and use great visualisations, but unlike Khan Academy, you are quick and to the point. You've got a high increase in subs lately. #Roadto100K

    Hi um just wanted to know, in your video, how will increasing the collision frequency increase the number of successful collisions if the reactant particles do not collide with activation energy?

    • @amirthamramasamy50
      @amirthamramasamy50 3 месяца назад

      instead, the catalyst finds an alternative path which uses lesser energy and still make successful collision

    2:40 why are concentration and pressure the same? How are they both represent the number of particles per unit volume? I know that pressure of a gas shares an inverse relationship with volume (PV, Boyle’s law). But it shares a direct relationship with temperature (V/T, Charle’s law). Doesn’t that mean that the temperature can increase the pressure WITHOUT changing the number of particles per unit volume (in a closed system)?

    • @ruthiethemagmacube5390
      @ruthiethemagmacube5390 4 года назад

      Oh wait, is that because we’re looking at concentration and pressure at a constant temperature?

    • @merlynvarkey1891
      @merlynvarkey1891 3 года назад +2

      here, they are being thought of as the same thing. when you increase the pressure in say, a liquid container, the volume decreases, and consequently the concentration increases, meaning the reaction rate increases therewith.

    • @devsehgal7432
      @devsehgal7432 3 года назад

      Gas fills the container, more pressure is required as it loses pressure as its spread in a bigger container

    why is there a need to control the rate of some chemical reactions?

    • @hyacinth18
      @hyacinth18 2 года назад

      im not sure about controlling, but in terms of speeding up a reaction, I think that it is useful when scientists want to increase the speed of a reaction to like save time? I'm not too sure

    • @Cognitoedu
      @Cognitoedu  2 года назад +2

      Hi, yeah like Linaysha said, companies normally want to speed up reactions to make them more profitable. But sometimes we may want to slow reactions down to e.g. we put food in the fridge to slow down the chemical reactions that break down our food.
