    As a long time guitarist who is dipping their toes in the bass world with tracking some songs, I found this super helpful.
    Only thing I might point out is that the pedal uses DC power, not ac. Don't be like me and accidentally plug in a pedal to an ac powered outlet when you need DC and fry it.

      Yikes 😬. Sorry you went through that I have taken note not to make the same error. Glad you found the video helpful and welcome to the bass community.

    PS, you could just say the AGS gets too distorted or to dirty for you.

      Glad I could be of help. A lot of times creators of products do not show things we regular people need to know.

    Thanks for the review! I’m a bass newb, but play drums. One of my kits is an electronic kit where I sometimes use the Roland PM200 amp for it. I’m hoping to avoid buying yet another amp and taking up floor space. Could I use this playing the bass into the Roland PM200 amp? If so, could I expect “good” bass guitar sound? Thanks for the help!

    • @soulmca
      @soulmca  Год назад +1

      I hate to break it to you Michael but you will likely need to get another amp. If you want to use the Roland along with this tone hammer to practice at home in your room. Cool! Anything beyond that...not likely. Remember also that amp was not created for bass. It should be fine it won't break or anything but you won't get optimal performance.

      @@soulmca Thanks, amigo - makes sense. It would be mostly for practicing, and I may end up getting a smallish amp set up. Thank you!

    • @soulmca

      @@hapadusky quite welcome. Good luck. Note that if you want this to work with your amp you will need the external power source.

    This was an excellent review! I have a Squier 70's modified jazz bass. I put an active preamp in it. I have a Hartke KB15 that I play through. Since my bass has the vintage tones, would one of these Tone Hammers help me get a more modern sound in addition to what I already have?

    • @soulmca
      @soulmca  3 года назад +1

      Thank you so much. As you can see from the demo the EQ options are basically endless. You should. E able to tweak it to suit the sound you are looking for. You bass will still retain some if its tone however be aware of that.

    Great content brother! I recommended this to a fellow bassist and he likes it. Can you use a music stand to lay it on so you won't have to bend down?

    • @soulmca
      @soulmca  4 года назад

      Absolutely. Or any flat surface like a stool or the top of an amplifier. It isnt that heavy at all.

    Liked your video. Your Specks you put on the screen at 10:54 are wrong should be 40 Hz. not 40 kHz. The Mid Freq Range is 180 Hz. to 1kHz., +/- 17 dB of cut or boost.

    You would need a power amp and the pre- amp

    • @soulmca
      @soulmca  3 года назад +1

      No. If you have phantom power that will power the unit. You will need an in ear system to hear your own playing however.
      If you want to still play with an amp you can. You can plug your bass directly into this and then to your amp and then to the system or connect you bass to the amp then from the amp run it to this DI and then to the system.
      If you do not have phantom power you will need either batteries or an additional AC adapter to power the DI
