  • In 1983, Pennsylvania had a mere three bald eagle nests remaining statewide. With the help of the Canadian government, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and several other states reintroduced bald eagle chicks from Saskatchewan to the Northeast United States. Today, Pennsylvania boasts more than 300 nests. This is the journey of their recovery.

Excellent film for those who want to learn more. From the Delaware River in Wayne County, I'm very lucky to watch them almost any day fishing, soaring and perched on branches around my land.

We have just passed through Pennsylvania while going to Boston. I noticed and talked about Pennsylvania. They have wonderful highways that have natural flowers along them. I did not see litter and the country side is beautiful. Good job people. I was impressed.

Great job PGC. I spend a lot of time along the Allegheny River in Venango county. Saw my first Bald Eagle about 8 years ago. Now I see them regularly around Kennerdell and St.George's eddy.

Other than that one issue I love the video, it was all very well made and I think it's a great communications tool about the heritage of bald eagles in PA. Thanks!

I do believe that the Eagle is making a come back. I've experienced numerous sightings here in Fayette county over the past 2 years. But it's always when I don't have a camera with me. They are an majestic bird to see in the wild.

Maryjane shares I was so honored to be part of this video the game commission made about bald eagles in PA. To show the 25 year old bald eagle I helped get a second chance was awesome! There are only 6 centers in PA permitted for eagles and we're happy to be one of them. Please help the wildlife here at Skye's Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center get a second chance with a donation, we can't do it without YOU! Mail to SSWRC 889 Farren Surrena Road. Harrisville, Pennsylvania. 16038 or visit our website at www.skyes-spirit.com and click on any link.

Why is there a text box in the upper left hand corner that says "hunting license increase" until about 1:05 of the video?

It just absolutely baffles me that there was a time when despicable human beings would shoot and kill these majestic birds of freedom for no reason at all other than to kill them!!! Just sickening

Share your feelings; I read recently that even Mr. Audubon himself did so on countless occasions. I am still shocked.
Sadly tho, these days they still suffer from lead (pellets) - through poisoning.
These birds are mesmerising and counting more admirers every year, hopefully there's a brighter future!

The same text reappears just before the 20:00 minute mark... it gives the impression to me that licenses are available to hunt bald eagles, even though I know that is not true! 😕

I find it amusing that native american music is playing in the background, however the state refuses to recognize the native americans living in this state-----------afterall there are NO tribes in Pennsylvania. That may be true but there is a great number of native american descendants here, and the commission is always messing with us. Let us be---let us have our culture

    • @PAGameCommissionHDQTRS

I added the music out of respect. The wildlife rehabber in the film is also Native American.
