      @@G3Izzy yea man I've been setting up a streaming setup for some time now.. I've always built gaming PC's but wanted to touch the streaming scene so I got off into the high quality mics and things of that nature.. youtube is definitely a grind, but since I went into it purely on the basis that I wanted to have fun, and not thinking about money the experience has been better than expected.. I'm gonna continue the grind, I work so it's a little harder, but you definitely should man! Mixers a pretty good platform now as well, just a thought..

    Haha, I got the same equipment. The Focusrite solo and the AT2035. I want to figure out what the two buttons on the the mic do.

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  9 лет назад

      +Charles Winters the one see through button is the mute mic button and the other ones can you used for guitars and other instruments i believe

    • @czdaniel1
      @czdaniel1 6 лет назад

      +Charles --
      *First button* is the Hi-Pass filter: This cuts out lower frequency wavelengths in the signal (Used mainly to allow you to be closer to the mic when speaking which will often create a bass-y, low-frequency proximity effect)(Sometimes Hi-Pass filter can get used to reduce some background noises from low-frequency hums coming from outside the room)
      *The 2nd button* is the 10-db pad, which raises the threshold of the mic by 10 decibel so that when you are not deliberately speaking into the mic, the mic will pick up less sounds like breathing or background sounds. Your voice will be 10-db quiter too, so may need to be boosted in post or with a FetHed/Cloudlifter clean-signal booster ($100-$150)

    I'm getting that Microphone too but I'm just wondering do you need to have an audio interface for RUclips videos?

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  7 лет назад

      ChickenMandy in order to get that microphone to work you need the audio interface. But you can use any mic for RUclips it doesn't necessarily have to be the mic in this video though. The mic in this video is a XLR mic and in order to make an XLR mic to work you need and audio interface for it to work on your computer.

    Have you also got the options when you installed the drivers (asio control panel) to choose between Sample rate and Buffer? If so, what are your settings? I try to notice the difference between everything

  • @CreativiTimothy

    If I buy both the mic arm and audio interface using your links, is that ALL I need? The Scarlett USB Audio Interface does not appear to have some sort of USB cable that would connect to the computer, so I'm confused. Thanks!

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  8 лет назад

      +CreativiTimothy yes all you need for this setup is the mic arm, the Audio techina at2035 and the Scarlett Audio interface. and then you go on the Scarlett website and download the audio drivers and you should be in business my man

  • @cesarchen4612
    @cesarchen4612 8 лет назад

    Hi I've got an xlr cable, a AT2035 and a Scarlett 2i2 interface, pretty much the same things you recording with, when I plug the mic to the interface and then plug it into my mac, the light of the mic turns red, and I can't record with logic X. Do I need to do any preset on my laptop? I went to Scarlett website, and it tells mac doesn't need any driver...not sure how to figure this out

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  8 лет назад

      +Cesar Chen Make sure that the 2i2 is set as your default device in your recording sound options
      Example: gyazo.com/1f286a9661f6c47c554c71038a9e2053
      If you have any issues with the Device on mac try some of these options

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  9 лет назад

      +rets mej Honestly I didn't do anything to stop my fan in this video but, what I do now to stop stuff like that such as breathing into the mic and fans blowing near the mic is to use a Microphone 'Wind Sock'. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NYNJO3O?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 here is a link to the wind sock that I use currently. I have used this Wind sock for almost a year and I have had no problems using it

    If I get this mic what's the best way to eliminate background noises aka my mechanical keyboard a response would be much appreciated

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  9 лет назад +1

      if your streaming there will be a slight background noise but nobody will notice or care, but if you are recording for youtube and doing playthroughs and things of that matter there is a program called Audacity and you can export your audio files in that program and nearly eliminate background noise

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  8 лет назад

      If its a USB Microphone yes but if it is an XLR Microphone no, The XLR Microphone Needs an audio interface which the XLR Cord plugs into then goes to your computer

  • @robotickz
    @robotickz 8 лет назад

    Do you have to plug in your headphones through the Audio interface? Or could i have it so that the audio interface is only used for the mic? I have a high quality gaming headset thats USB and plugs directly into my computer.

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  8 лет назад

      robotickz you don't need to plug your headset into the interface at all. The plug in for the head set is on the interface if you want to hear direct audio of yourself for sound testing purposes.

    What voltage does the Scarlett pulll from the PC? Most XLR use 48V Phantom Power.

    • @G3Izzy
      @G3Izzy  8 лет назад +1

      not sure tbh but its probably average its a very low end interface that gets the job done

    • @IAmKnightsDawn
      @IAmKnightsDawn 8 лет назад

      G3Izzy my psu is 550w. I'm assuming it should handle it.

      Master Moogle ya I've used mine on my old 550 it works great

    • @IAmKnightsDawn
      @IAmKnightsDawn 8 лет назад

      Found out on PCPartPicker how much my pc is on average pulling. Looks like about 317Watts. So yeah even if it pulled 48V from the Phantom Power (which I doubt as it should have its own voltage source) I could still pull it.

    Hey man nice video! Finally found someone with exactly the same setup as me. I love how your audio quality is 1000% better even though we are using the same. can you help me or answer these questions please;
    -what software are you using to edit or record your voice?
    -what volume level do you have your mic set to?
    -when i start recording i find that my Vocal from my microphone is placed only on the left in their headphones or speakers.how to fix?
    -does your recording track sound flat before you fix it when editing? I hear my voice on friends video and is so annoying to hear my flat..
    Please helpppp :) you can PM me if you have the time.
    Cheers

      +Hunter Gaming
      - I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to record my voice/facecam with
      - In OBS I set my Mic?Aux Boost to Level 5
      - For it only being in the left side of the headphone make sure you have the Force Microphone /Auxiliary to Mono box CHECKMARKED
      - Personally mine used to until I started to tweak different volume using OBS and Making sure you find the right distance for your mic to you face. (Its different for everyone)
      hope that helped my man
