@@G3Izzy yea man I've been setting up a streaming setup for some time now.. I've always built gaming PC's but wanted to touch the streaming scene so I got off into the high quality mics and things of that nature.. youtube is definitely a grind, but since I went into it purely on the basis that I wanted to have fun, and not thinking about money the experience has been better than expected.. I'm gonna continue the grind, I work so it's a little harder, but you definitely should man! Mixers a pretty good platform now as well, just a thought..
+Charles -- *First button* is the Hi-Pass filter: This cuts out lower frequency wavelengths in the signal (Used mainly to allow you to be closer to the mic when speaking which will often create a bass-y, low-frequency proximity effect)(Sometimes Hi-Pass filter can get used to reduce some background noises from low-frequency hums coming from outside the room) *The 2nd button* is the 10-db pad, which raises the threshold of the mic by 10 decibel so that when you are not deliberately speaking into the mic, the mic will pick up less sounds like breathing or background sounds. Your voice will be 10-db quiter too, so may need to be boosted in post or with a FetHed/Cloudlifter clean-signal booster ($100-$150)
Thanks for the help really good informative video. Would have been nice if u'd included the headphone you are using as that is a key part to the audio setup.
Cormac Madden thank you sir and the headset i am using are the astro a40s! I also use the Razer Kraken Pros as an alternate headset, Glad the video helped!
ChickenMandy in order to get that microphone to work you need the audio interface. But you can use any mic for RUclips it doesn't necessarily have to be the mic in this video though. The mic in this video is a XLR mic and in order to make an XLR mic to work you need and audio interface for it to work on your computer.
Have you also got the options when you installed the drivers (asio control panel) to choose between Sample rate and Buffer? If so, what are your settings? I try to notice the difference between everything
If I buy both the mic arm and audio interface using your links, is that ALL I need? The Scarlett USB Audio Interface does not appear to have some sort of USB cable that would connect to the computer, so I'm confused. Thanks!
+CreativiTimothy yes all you need for this setup is the mic arm, the Audio techina at2035 and the Scarlett Audio interface. and then you go on the Scarlett website and download the audio drivers and you should be in business my man
Hi I've got an xlr cable, a AT2035 and a Scarlett 2i2 interface, pretty much the same things you recording with, when I plug the mic to the interface and then plug it into my mac, the light of the mic turns red, and I can't record with logic X. Do I need to do any preset on my laptop? I went to Scarlett website, and it tells mac doesn't need any driver...not sure how to figure this out
+Cesar Chen Make sure that the 2i2 is set as your default device in your recording sound options Example: gyazo.com/1f286a9661f6c47c554c71038a9e2053 If you have any issues with the Device on mac try some of these options Example: global.focusrite.com/answerbase/using-a-scarlett-interface-on-osx-109-mavericks
I bought everything but the arm stand. I been trying to make this thing work but I can't seem to connect the mic to my computer. I think my Focusrite Solo can detect it since whenever I speak to the mic it, the LED glows but when I try to record or test my mic it doesn't record? How did you setup ur mic so it works? Help plz.
My scarlett Solo Usb won't install properly to my pc but the usb ports are 3.0 constantly u installed the drivers / re downloaded and contral panel for scarlett -____-
+rets mej Honestly I didn't do anything to stop my fan in this video but, what I do now to stop stuff like that such as breathing into the mic and fans blowing near the mic is to use a Microphone 'Wind Sock'. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NYNJO3O?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 here is a link to the wind sock that I use currently. I have used this Wind sock for almost a year and I have had no problems using it
if your streaming there will be a slight background noise but nobody will notice or care, but if you are recording for youtube and doing playthroughs and things of that matter there is a program called Audacity and you can export your audio files in that program and nearly eliminate background noise
you should help me set up mine ;-; I have the same mic but I have a line pod 6 instead of the focusrite I have it all working it's just that my friends can't hear me or I can't hear my self when I record T.T pls help
If its a USB Microphone yes but if it is an XLR Microphone no, The XLR Microphone Needs an audio interface which the XLR Cord plugs into then goes to your computer
Do you have to plug in your headphones through the Audio interface? Or could i have it so that the audio interface is only used for the mic? I have a high quality gaming headset thats USB and plugs directly into my computer.
robotickz you don't need to plug your headset into the interface at all. The plug in for the head set is on the interface if you want to hear direct audio of yourself for sound testing purposes.
robotickz not a problem man just trying to help some people out :) and yes I currently use the same setup but I'm looking to upgrade my audio interface soon to a line ux2 interface.
I have the AT2020 and a scarlett solo How much gain do you use to achieve a nice signal? I need to crank mine almost to 100% And when it passes 85% jumps abruptly clipping the signal, it happens with yours?
I have everything you have, but im not sure why the mic is not working for me i got the driver for the solo, and everything. not sure what to do my computer see it, but wont work. if you got any tips let me know please
i would try unplugging everything then re plugging it back in. make sure your XLR cord is plugged into everything and make sure your scarllet solo is your default device in your sound settings for recording
Found out on PCPartPicker how much my pc is on average pulling. Looks like about 317Watts. So yeah even if it pulled 48V from the Phantom Power (which I doubt as it should have its own voltage source) I could still pull it.
Pls I want to know if audio interface will work with Audio-Technica AT2020 Condenser Mic, Because Audio-Technica AT2020 Condenser Mic is with Usb...Thx
thx for the answer bro am new in this kind things, this is why i watch alot tutorial about this ..And you do a wonderful job bro..Keep it up.. so have to go for XLR Cord...One Love
+G3Izzy you say that you need to connect it with USB to your computer. But can you just plug it in to a phantom power supply like the Audio Technica AT8801F and then use as output a XLR to 3.5mm jack adapter and plug it into the microphone plug?
+Mohammed Hado aka MCM Official honestly the mic that i am using in this video would work fine. if you want to go with something a little cheaper the blue yeti or the blue snowball are not bad choices and both of those still sound great if you can get the right gain :)
+Jacy Morales it was just the default one that came with the package I bought from amazon. But right now I use a wind sock over my mic and it works the same but it blocks out thing such as a fan or someone breathing into the mic super loud
+CreativiTimothy not sure my man a lot of the time if its not what somebody was specifically looking for they just dislike a video. TBH if i dont like a video i just click off of it lol
Hey man nice video! Finally found someone with exactly the same setup as me. I love how your audio quality is 1000% better even though we are using the same. can you help me or answer these questions please; -what software are you using to edit or record your voice? -what volume level do you have your mic set to? -when i start recording i find that my Vocal from my microphone is placed only on the left in their headphones or speakers.how to fix? -does your recording track sound flat before you fix it when editing? I hear my voice on friends video and is so annoying to hear my flat.. Please helpppp :) you can PM me if you have the time. Cheers

+G3Izzy Thanks for the reply man, that helps. Where do I find the settings option at? @ "For it only being in the left side of the headphone make sure you have the Force Microphone /Auxiliary to Mono box CHECKMARKED" I can't play around with the settings on Scarlett 2i2 since it doesn't have a software to tweak it...
way to slay brother.... great video but i heard a weird wobbly, over compressed type audio quality... could be an interference issue (i.e. I'm listening thru headphones)
Thanks Jevon! And this video is over a year old so it's most likely gonna be a little off quality wise. But since then I know how to adjust my interface and volume to the liking of my voice :D thanks for the feedback 👍
I got this microphone and ended up going with the golxr, and a goxlr mini.. crazy......crazy!! Setup I'm loving it..
KING DAVID awesome David! Enjoy the high quality audio! I still use this mic to this day it’s treated me very well 😊
@@G3Izzy liked and subbed bro!
@@DRSKINGDAVID Much Love! I need to get back into RUclips soon

Haha, I got the same equipment. The Focusrite solo and the AT2035. I want to figure out what the two buttons on the the mic do.
+Charles Winters the one see through button is the mute mic button and the other ones can you used for guitars and other instruments i believe

Ernesto Bahena Presents awesome well enjoy it!
Very detailed! Thank you for the information, I've been wanting to get a new mic for a year now
Thanks roger! Glad to help man that's the reason I made this video
+G3Izzy would u recommend an XLR or USB
+Roger Do0dger I have had both but I hm relieve that xlr puts out way better quality
+G3Izzy isn't starting off with a usb better because you don't need the interface or I'm just going to save up for both the interface and XLR
+Roger Do0dger in terms of price yes in terms of quality xlr will be better
Thank you so much for this video. It was so helpful on the setup for the XLR mic.

What voltage does the Scarlett pulll from the PC? Most XLR use 48V Phantom Power.
not sure tbh but its probably average its a very low end interface that gets the job done

does it tip downward if you put it up high and can it do 360 degrees
yes you can pull it up high and it does go 360 degrees
so if i put it at the max height it wont just drop itll stay still(as in drop i mean tip down/over)?
Oh ye just subbed and liked
