Vivianas high German is on a realy high level. She is using words and also phrases that one would not normaly hear from a German in day to day conversations. This realy sells the point that she is a woman with status.
More to the point, Vivi is very thoroughly and consistently established as not only someone highly literate but also deeply interested in poetry, at bare minimum as an avid consumer and possibly also occasional creator thereof (your guess is as good as mine if the examples in some of her lines are meant to be her own creations or quotations). Excellent command of and close attention to the language(s) involved are virtually inevitable byproducts of such interests.
@@broadbandislifeit's more that her vocabulary is proof that she's a linguistics enthusiastic and a woman of nobility that been highly educated. Your average German would call her speech stiff and too formal almost.
Wait till you find out her VA rarely does actual Voice acting and mostly does Ads and audiobooks. Also you can hear her in Braunschweig telling you when the train arrives
Frankly...as a german....I can‘t hear her voice without laughing. If you hear radio here or maybe even watch some tv, you‘ll recognise her voice at one point or another due to commercials. Like for example that opel corsa commercial and she also did stuff for Volkswagen cars. It‘s just, I can‘t hear this without hearing years worth of commercials. Just imagine viviana suddenly rolling up in an old opel corsa
thb thats kind of fitting with the commercialization of the knight tournaments in Kazimierz. that following winning it she just has to do all sorts of silly commercial stuff.
A 1:1 translation would be "Doctor. I can't guarantee you what happens when the flame of the candle extinguishes". In game the translation says "Doktor, if the candle goes out, I cant't say for sure what might happen next" ^^
I wish more characters would get german voiceovers. Also i wish the Story would get a legit german translation, as i know many people for which the english in arknights is too hard and would play if the Game was German. If the quality would remain like this it would ve top.
That's a fair criticism because the German language is also spoken in other countries such as Austria and Switzerland. Calling it a ‘Germany Dub’ does sound like it doesn't acknowledge the other countries.
@@broadbandislife I know, the point is that Germany is a country and German is the language or the citizens of Germany. Though, I added another point in my original comment, yes.
@@shihotoriOld Aside from the linguistical meaning it's pretty much anything from or in Germany. "A German boy", "the German economy", "German rivers", "German literature"... you get the idea. This is how the English language _works_ in such matters. "Germany dub" is You No Take Candle kind of stilted and unnatural on the level of "Italy car", "France bread" and "America road".
@@broadbandislife Yes, I am very much aware of that because I study English Linguistics. I simply wanted to add another point that calling it a ‘Germany Dub’, besides being grammatically incorrect, might instigate the idea that ‘German’ is only the language of Germany despite the fact that it is spoken as a first language by people from places other than Germany.
Wait just wondering in the Russian side of characters but does Pozy have a Russian dub can't say if I remember all of the Ursus ops outside of the Student group, Absinthe and Hellagur so yeah.
They feel much more in line with the "Austrian" inspired theme than her yeah. Her accent is the one they have in west Germany, some regions of France, Luxembourg or some regions of Netherlands, which is fitting for a noble lady from a non German speaker point of view but feels odd when you look into thinks a bit. It's still a good dub imo. It's just that Eben and Czerny have much more fitting accents.
@thomasberviller3207 Czerny is the only one with an austian touch in his accent. For Eben, i like the fact that he voice acts more. Vivianas voice stays pretty monotone throughout the whole performance. I think leithanien is practically Germany + austria Edit: or just any german speaking country but then i wait for the strange accent swiss people have
Unpopular opinion but her german dub is wasted potential. Words that should be emphasized are not and words that should not are emphasized. Furthermore the way she speaks with strangely placed pauses makes the whole way she talks feel unnatural and the lack of emotion in the voice does not improve this. No one would actually say the sentmeces the way the voice actress sayed them which is really strange given that the actress seems to be native in german. What makes this even stranger is that she absolutly nailed the english voice. If she at least would have translorted the energy of the EN-Voice into the german dub it would have been allready so much better

Poverty of language is a global issue nowadays.
she even translates her own stage name

I've been waiting for her, thank you! Such an elegant voice, fitting for her
The voice fit quite well for how people think a noble should act in a manner befit their status. ;)
Very beautiful voice perfectly suited for an elegant knight
Those sub-3* battle result comments are some of the most sophisticated snark I've heard in a while lmfao
My waif can’t be this gorgeous
A very gentle and beautiful voice, just like it should be! Really amazing, another great German voice :)

South Park was right. Germans complaining about German is the most German thing.
