  • October 2001 - The last DEVCO coal shipments. Train 306 has 3 HATX SD45-2 (912, 914, 907) locomotives and empty coal cars. At Tupper (near Port Hawkesbury) the SD45-2s pick up loaded coal cars from Sydney as well as other cars. They take the train across the Canso Causeway and across Cape Breton. They end up through Marshy Hope in the dark with some nice pacing video.
This clip is from the OBE Video VCD "TRAINS IN NOVA SCOTIA Volume 2"
This video was uploaded by Steve Boyko after David's death, on the request of David's widow Pat. She wants to share David's work with everyone. Apologies for any errors or omissions in the captions.
This video was recorded using a camcorder on VHS videotape and then digitized, so the quality is not as good as David's later work.

Thank you Pat for letting the legacy of David's rail fan adventures live on in this format for all of us to enjoy! Especially for us with ties to the east coast!
