I love this one. I have been doing this on and off for two yrs now. For the first time I just experienced a sensation that I can only describe as being like floating in water. Thank u for this and all that you do Ajahn Brahm. You have changed my life and I dream of visiting your monastery & meeting you one day. Sadu sadu sadu

Many of the guided meditation sessions by Ajahn Brahm on youtube are fairly long. This short session is an excellent summary of the main points to keep in mind during meditation. (The sound volume may be low but the recording is clear. Just boost up the volume on the PC & speakers.)

change position by sitting on a chair, or find a comfortable spot, or apply vipassana technique, being aware of the pain without interference, embrace it and let it go. Then go back to your breathing awareness again. It will work.

Lots of lower back issues here too. I tried out different cushions to sit on and for me it works with a really tall one. So my butt is about 15cm higher than my knees. Also it's a little tiltet to the front, so my hip tilts a little forward. That really did it for me. Though my knees are also making trouble from time to time after an operation following an accident at work. So sometimes I just sit on a chair. 🤷‍♂️
If one thing doesn't work, try out another.
As recommended here, practicing awareness of the pain is possible, but I would advise caution. Pain usually is a warning sign, to be treated differently from discomfort.
We're all different, so what works for me, mustn't work for you. But I still wish you the best of luck with your practice. 🖖

@@Samsiam00 None of us are without flaws, I assure you. Crooked Trees are the most beautiful, as Ajahn Brahm reminds us often. 😊
Let me share a meditation experience with you. In the spring we have a lot of singing birds here in Germany and after a long winter, when I got so used to sitting silence in the morning, I found the birds to be distracting in my meditation. I listened more to them, then either a guided meditation or my breath. Quickly I listened to my inner monolog of annoyance, like "stupid birds, can I maybe somehow insulate the walls against sound?" and so on.
There was a knot of tension in my belly and every morning it got worse until I didn't even want to sit down one day. Then I remembered a talk that Ajahn Brahmali once gave, about inconveniences during meditation. So I sat down and once the underlying feeling of tension and aversion came up, I focused on it. Ignoring the inner monolog, just feeling the negative manifestation in the body and the emotional aversion to it. I tried not to judge, nor to send kindness, but just experience it. It did not take long for me to understand that that was it. It wouldn't get any worse. This was the unwanted feeling that my mind tried to eliminate by coming up with solutions or angry remarks. It wasn't that bad, really. It's just my conditioning to immediately flee negative experiences and search for positive ones. Hate and greed, as the Buddha tought it. Now I started sending loving kindness to my belly, where the knot seemd to be almost physically present and over a few weeks it got better and better until I sometimes sat there and just listened to the birds singing, no thoughts present. Just feeling the joy of life around me an within.
Happened the following years again to be fair, but I now know how to work with my aversion and the fault finding mind (in that situation), so I'm almost looking forward to next spring 😉
My meditation practice is far from perfect, as am I for sure. But sometimes I remember that it is good enough. 🙏
I wish you well and may you be happy and healthy 🖖
