  • This is a recording of a lecture presented at the School of the Renaissance Soldier event in September, 2023, by Adam Franti of the Lansing Longsword Guild.
This lecture was supplemented by several classes taught over the course of three days which outlined the daily lives of a Landsknecht campaigner, the place of mercenaries in late medieval and early modern warfare, supply and pay structures, and the culture of training.
This lecture was presented to a live audience and carefully researched, but the improvisational nature of the lecture means that sometimes information can get confused or misstated. Any mistakes are Adam's own.
Unfortunately, the recording was made in a somewhat noisy room and quality is not as high as we might like.
Questions are encouraged in the comments.
If you'd like to have Adam present a lecture for your club or event, do not hesitate to get in touch.
