    I was trying to figure out to plumb this in and your video was perfect

    Hi Chris, do you know how to connect this Jandy system to the main drainage system in the backyard, so that when it rains hard and the pool gets overfilled you can use the Jandy system to automatically drain the pool to the correct level? My pool company installed the Jandy system when they built my pool, so I have the "standing pipe" system that you discussed in your last two minutes of your video. thanks so much!

      Hi Bonnie. That’s a very interesting idea, but I’m not sure how to make it work. The Jandy system is designed to open the valve when the sensor probes in your stand pipe are exposed to the air. The valve allows water from your house to fill the pool until the probes are touching the water again.
      You would need it to work the opposite way so that when water touches the sensor probes, it opens a valve located in the return line after the pump, which would bleed some of the excess water into the backyard until the normal level is reached.
      Does your pool not have an overflow pipe?

    What is the problem if the sensor light comes on and the water starts to fill then after 10 minutes it's stops filling and the red safety light comes on and the water isn't to fill level?
    What is the problem?

      The Jandy system is factory set to turn off after 20 minutes whether the pool is full or not. You can increase the shutoff time to 40 or 60 minutes by clipping wires in the control box. Here’s the manual for your reference: www.jandy.com/-/media/zodiac/global/downloads/h/h0303600.pdf

    Can this system be retrofitted into an existing pool?

      Yes, you can retrofit it. The tricky part would be running the wire for the water level sensor from the control box to the skimmer. If you have a concrete pool patio, then you can run the wire in an expansion joint if there is one nearby. If you have a paver/stone patio, then you could pull up a section of them to run it.

    Hello! Thank you for your video. I work maintenance at a commercial property and we have been filling the pool manually b/c I was told it 'never worked for the pool' but hot tub works fine. I am an over achiever and want to get this working again. My first thought is to check the solenoid to stop the water because I assume it just keeps filling if the main valve is left open. Is this correct and what else should I check if you would be so kind. I saw other systems have a floater that is known to go bad, but this system looks electronic. Would there still be a floater somewhere? Thank you! Tell me where to send the case of beer! Haha

      Hi Mike! Any idea why they stopped using the water fill system? The solenoid valves can go bad, but the default position is closed so it shouldn’t keep running unless something jams the valve. The valves are the same they use for sprinkler systems, so they’re meant to last for thousands of cycles and usually last for a long time. There is a solid state water sensor somewhere in the system that tells the controller to open the valve and send water. The sensor may be in a skimmer or in a stand pipe if the pool was originally plumbed for it. Try to locate the sensor and valve first, and make sure they look to be in good condition. Also, check the wiring to make sure it looks in good shape. Then, try powering on the system and see if the lights on the control panel come on. If the lights don’t come on, then you may have a fried panel. Our Jandy system has three lights which show power on, water filling, and sensor condition. Yours may be different, so you should search the web with you model number to see if you can find a manual for it. Let me know what you find out! Chris

    Any idea what it means when the “filling” light is red instead of green?

    • @WoodmereEstateRevival
      @WoodmereEstateRevival  8 месяцев назад

      That’s the safety lockout light. That means the system filled the pool up to the prescribed maximum time and it won’t fill again until 24hrs has passed and the lockout resets. You can lengthen the lockout time if you like. Here’s the manual that describes how to do that: images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/levolor-manual.pdf
