    Excellent list Dave!!! When I started I knew if I was going to walk; I had to do it the first thing in the morning......the evenings; I am too tired and less motivated than in the morning. Creating my daily walking habit has created even more positive habits. I'm a true believer in walking as fitness. I'm so glad I started walking and I'm glad I found Dave and that he is an evangelist for walking!! ❤

    I am on day 50 of a 30 minute walk each day! I fill in a square on a 100 square page. Several times because of unforeseen obligations , I have walked at 10:30 at night because I didn’t want to break the cycle! Sometimes I say , I have to report to Dave, he told me to, and so go for my walk😀 I am 75 and reporting in to my teacher! Thanks Dave!

    I am up to 8000 steps a day. Have been walking every day, except the very hot days in summer, since the end July. Thanks for your motivating videos.

    This video is contains excellent advice. I have been a jogger, and in recent decades a walker, for 50 years, and it is only on seeing this video that I have realised why I have been able to consistently maintain my jogging/walking regime. I have subconsciously been adopting these 5 strategies all along. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wishes to improve or maintain their health and fitness.

    Your videos make perfect sense. I’ve been walking for yrs. I created that habit and I feel physically and mentally healthy. I don’t consider it exercise . . . I’m just getting out and taking a walk. It’s wonderful‼️

    Even though I'm a life long walker, I still have days when I need encouragement. The weather is getting chilly here in northern MI and I don't always feel like it. Thank you for being the motivation to keep going. 🏃🏻‍♀‍❤

    Hi! I love your short motivational walking videos! One question I have is this. Do you ever not walk due to bad weather?

    • @hattiedraper1061
      @hattiedraper1061 4 месяца назад +4

      There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad or unsuitable clothing!

    • @WalkingisFitness
      @WalkingisFitness  4 месяца назад +1

      The short answer is I don’t use weather as a reason to not walk. If I have to, I’ll walk inside. Thanks for watching

    We're up north so walking in winter offers unique challenges. For example, sidewalks that are not cleared, black ice, and just the cold weather itself. However, it's nothing that cannot be overcome so we have no excuses not to walk during winter.

      If winter weather gets really treacherous in our northern Ontario climate , I have several walking videos ready to use. I WILL walk in the house if it’s too such too icy outside or blizzard like.

    The injury part is hard. Current orders are every other days, and if that doesnt work with a compression sock Im supposed to drop to 3 days on, 3 days off. Fingers crossed it works and I can build back up to daily walks.

    Any advise on walking with bad weather, during allergy seasons and personal safety. Whats your opinion on mall walking.

    • @WalkingisFitness
      @WalkingisFitness  4 месяца назад +1

      I think mall walking is great. I’ve walked many steps in my basement when going outside wasn’t a good option. The health before of walking don’t discriminate where the steps happen

    Darwin used to walk .. he could think and solve the questions in his mind. He would place a pebble on the table at the end of his walk. If he had not solved the issue.. He would walk again and place another pebble . The solutions were one, two or three pebbles depending on the complexity...

      Sadly, my advice is going to ring hollow since we moved 500 miles south to escape the Maryland winters which I’m sure are tame compared to Winnipeg winters.

      @@WalkingisFitness yes it brutal here in Winter and with the wind it cuts through exposed skin like needles
      I fell on icy pavement years ago on my back hit the back of my head , ended up with a concussion.. out of commission for 3 weeks. Worst experience,
      Thinking I should wear s helmet in winter.. lol.

      I would think so. Heck it all adds up…if I have a crazy busy day, even in my 2000 sf. Ranch, I’ve even clocked 10 grand, depending on the situation…I notice also if I go out and walk 20-30 minutes, it seems to give you the edge to 10 thou for the day.
