You go dad!!! I think you might be the most stand up guy in the music biZ! You’re one of a few great men😘
Gonna miss Jimmy Capps. What a guitarist he was. One of the best.
No better heartbreak song than this one, right here. Beautiful.
He still sounds amazing! A truly beautiful voice that hasn't changed at all over the years
Really nice...👏👏👏👍🎤🎶🎸🏴
Great song, brings back memories of a lovesick youth.
Jimmy Capps RIP - One of the very best if not the best
I had no idea he wrote this!!! WOW!
love Jimmy Copps... guitar style... RIP JIMMY
Great song. Met Dickie in July 2010 and told him it was one of my favorites.
she does
A great song by a great singer. What more could you ask for. He`s got Jimmy Capps helping him on the guitar. Jimmy`s got to be the greatest guitar player ever. Dickie has sang other hits like PATCHES. It was a smash hit for him. You will find it on Rock N Roll Graffiti.
Thanks for your nice writing about Jimmy. I learn so many "licks" from him and from Grady Martin. From France : Jo Luttringer
George Jones is great with this song, but I certainly like hearing it from the songwriter!
George is the reason the song is Famous. But yes great to know and hear the creator of the great song .
We heard “Patches” tonight in a restaurant. I had to research who sang it, I was 10 years old when it came out. I found this along with others of Dickey Lee’s. Wonderful music!
Really nice version
I met Dickie in Memphis in 2007, a gentleman and a great songwriter.
Colm Kelly
Big thanks to the lead guitarist
Classic tune!
This is the part of US I love the most.
so true
Jimmy Capps!
HE does still care...lol...🤔😀😍
😢😢
Wonderful song. A country standard also recorded by Elvis and Marty Robbins among others. Nice rendition by its writer here, but it would be nice to know who the guitarist is and some of the other guys and gals in the studio.
One dislike, I can't get that. This song was also sung by George Jones. When I here this version it is awesome, Thank You for posting this one.
Jerry lee Lewis did it, and the late Leon Russell as well!!!
Hello, I'm looking for country music. But, I'm not finding it. She says she has strayed from the good path, and asks Jesus Christ to guide her, even if he (the person singing) is not strong enough. the singer says he made the song as soon as he left a meeting. I have the melody in my head. but I can't find it, even if I hum it on Google or RUclips. Can someone help me. I don't know the name or the singer of the song.
Sometimes the writer talks a little about the song, how he/she came to write it, etc. Not here, which is a pity, as I wonder if he wrote it specifically for George Jones. He sings it OK, but. to me, NO ONE sings it as well as George - & that includes Elvis!
