I think theres a hadith that the Mahdi wont come until people think he will never come. Kinda suggests we have a lot further to fall first. I feel like Ive also read a hadith about muslims being killed or kicked out of most countries of the world. If thats the case then strap in everybody, this ride is going to get bumpy.
What's really interesting is that the khilaafah will apparently be established before the mahdi comes according to the Hadith of thawbaan (رواه ابن ماجه والحاكم وقال: على شرط الشيخين ووافقه الذهبي، وقال ابن كثير: هذا إسناد قوي صحيح.
قال ابن كثير: "والمقصود أن المهدي الممدوح الموعود بوجوده في آخر الزمان يكون أصل ظهوره وخروجه من ناحية المشرق، ويبايع له عند البيت، كما دل على ذلك بعض الأحاديث" انتهى)
Wherein it is mentioned that there will be three that contend for leadership. Each one will be a son of a Khalifa. This should remind people not to depend on his coming but to reform ourselves now because we have to bring the khilaafah back.
Absolutely not. He is the start of the khilafa, because the Muslims have no leader at that time.

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The Last Hour would come (when) the Romans would form a majority amongst people. 'Amr said to him (Mustaurid Qurashi): See what you are saying? He said: I say what I heard from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). Thereupon he said: If you say that, it is a fact for they have four qualities. They have the patience to undergo a trial and immediately restore themselves to sanity after trouble and attack again after flight. They (have the quality) of being good to the destitute and the orphans, to the weak and, fifthly, the good quality in them is that they put resistance against the oppression of kings.

Just to be clear, the so called Mahdi that the Rafidah are waiting has nothing to do with our Mahdi that the Prophet Muhammed, peace and blessings be upon him informed us. In reality, rafidah are waiting for Al-dajjal (The Anti-christ, The false Massiah). just like the Jews.

What tax lol. Prophet Jesus Pbuh will abolish the Jizyah, because he will give the people 2 choices only becoming a Muslim or death.
