- The Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar, built himself such an extravagant prison, nicer and more luxurious than most billion dollar mansions around the world. In today's video we take you on a virtual tour of the kingpin's lavish prison cell, and we bet you'll be asking in the comments how you can get sent there. This prison is unlike any other and it's certainly no place for a criminal, it's meant for a king.

Can I just say this channel is absolutely amazing, I clicked on this only expecting a rundown of the facilities Pablo would have in his “prison” and I also get a lesson on his early life and Colombian politics at the time as well as a light overview of Coke and it’s rise in popularity, the animations also make it very easy to pay attention to and are very well made well done everyone involved and keep it up 👍

He was tough, but he was also fair! He gave what he got, and always offered a non violent solution to conflicts first. If you treated him right, you had no reason to be afraid of him! (Silver or Lead!)

0:15 according to his son (Sebastian Escobar) pablo’s favorite team wasn’t Atletico Nacional but Deportivo Independiente Medellin. Sebastian posted on Facebook 28 mistakes from the Narcos serie. This was one of them
By the way the son's birth name is Juan Pablo Escobar but when they had to flee the country after the death of Pablo his name got changed to Sebastian and the last name didn't stay as Escobar if I'm not mistaken he became Sebastian Marroquin.

It's the power he had. Refused to be put in a proper prison and said "I'll go to jail if you let me build it." Ended up being a deal that briefly worked for both parties, but pablo got too far out of hand

For people that don’t know, Pablo actually escaped a proper prison called yarumito prison. They isn’t much about it on the web but if you read ‘Mrs Escobar’ or ‘My Father’ , his wife and son both talk about it.
Honestly...what a great video. The content is informative and true to title but just the right amount of time is spent is explaining how and why he wound up in that prison in the 1st place

I saw a documentary that explained he had an escape route built-in to the prison which was effectively a trap door and short tunnel then a small hidden pathway through the jungle to awaiting vehicles.
