As an organized crime historian, I find reading about the history of Jewish gangsters to be among the most interesting! Meyer Lansky was a true Godfather in every aspect of the world of organized crime power! Ben Siegel was the epitome of a true gangster. His biography reads like a Hollywood script. The mafia relied on the wisdom, guidance, and muscle of the Jewish syndicate. Cosa Nostra would have never been as powerful and influential without their presence.
@didyouknow693 I appreciate your response to my comments. However, although Meyer Lansky is required reading on the history of organized crime in America, I don't think that his personality and lifestyle choices were very interesting. He wasn't the kind of man who was a heavy drinker or did any drugs. He wasn't known to be a night owl or known to hang out at nightclubs. He also wasn't a known womanizer. He was all business all the time. He was also a criminal genius. I tried reading his biography called LITTLE MAN by Lacey, but, I couldn't finish it. MEYER LANSKY MOGUL OF THE MOB by Eisenberg which was his memoir was better in my opinion. For reading pleasure, I prefer Lucky Luciano and Benny Siegel.
The mob in America wouldn't have gotten anywhere without Arnold Rothstein. Lucky Luciano was a snitch, and he saved his life and helped them. Much of what was seen during the most powerful years, happened because he was the mentor of many of them.
An 11-year-old assassin may sound far-fetched in today's world, but the fact remains that children in the worst slums in NYC during the early 20th century were entering into a life of crime at these ages. It's well-documented as a matter of fact! In my ancestral homeland of Haiti, you will easily find these children who would murder someone for a meal today! Poverty and despair will bring out the worst in human beings regardless of whether they are Jewish, Italian, Irish, or Haitian. Meyer Lansky and Benny Siegel were seasoned thieves, pimps, killers, bootleggers, and dope dealers by their teenage years.
they called him Bugsy because in jail particularly.. but also on the street.. amongst guys that have done time they call crazy people "bugs" ie in jail the unit where all the crazy guys get put is called the "bug range" . you kinda got it right but a little off the mark.

I agree, Meyer Lansky was, in my opinion, the Grey Cardinal of the mafia. The most interesting personality among the mobsters.

Yes, it's true. I read about it.
64 million wouldn't even buy you the parking lot today.
Great doco , ruined by annoying little tapping sound effects , Ben would have hated it.
Thank you for your comment. I will take your wishes into account in the next videos. And I totally agree that the sound effects were unnecessary.
What’s the name of the song in the video
11 year old assassin I think that's a little bit apocryphal! I wouldn't even believe that a 15 year old would be up to it. It's possible I guess!

@@zroy9263don’t why you think that couldn’t happen in 2023 … you ever heard of a little town called Chicago ?
Lucky had his own problems or else this might not have happened. Well. Just might have anyway. He could push who he wanted to. $$$$ not.
I think they had a rigid chain of command where the decision was made collectively. Although, the same principle applies in any joint stock company.
The Jewish gangsters where brutal
He sound effects just annoying
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I already know that the sound effects didn't work out so well. I'm working on it
💥 cool
It was all about the money.
Sound effects so bad couldn’t finish the video, completely unnecessary
Yeah, I know, unfortunately the sound effects were terrible, sorry.

In diffrent versions people have said the nickname came from "crazy as a bed bug".
That is not Joe Masseria that was a Jersey gangster lying on the floor there
