When I look at this within the evolution of her writing, here I think she set up a suspect who almost "too obviously" did it. By the time of Five Little Pigs, with And Then There Were None as a kind of evolution, she had set up a suspect who "did not obviously do it" but the reader suspected nonetheless. And then it turned out not to be that person, and just as importantly, made perfect sense.
Indeed. Five little pigs was so much better than I thought it would be! And of course, ATTWN is one of my favorites.
You can tell I've been spending the pandemic listening to the Christie classics. Have you ever tried LeCarre? I enjoy that he is a spy novelist who has endings that also surprise but satisfy.
A while ago I found a game based on the ABC Murders, and it was quite a fun story. Poirot's perspective is always wonderful to read from.
do u k whats it called
@@vector5g143 it's called Agatha Christie: the ABC murders
I read this book last night.Although staying up too late,i am impressed by its twisted plot!!
Have you read anything else by Agatha Christie?
@@thebookworm6554 yes ofc! And Then There Were None,Murder on the Orient Express,Why Didn't They Ask Evans
@@thebookworm6554 and i watched the movie Witness for the Prosecution, which is adapted by Agatha's novel as the same name
My favorite novel with a twist is tied. There's 3 of them actually. The first one is A Great Deliverance by Elizabeth George. The second one is The Riddle Of The Third Mile by Colin Dexter.
The third one is Knots And Crosses by Ian Rankin. I did not see the twist coming in any of these books. After watching your review, I definitely want to check out the ABC Murders now. That will be my first Agatha Christie book.
I am currently reading the first Sherlock Holmes story right now and then I'll check out the ABC Murders. Thanks for the recommendation and live long and prosper 🖖, fellow Bookworm.
Great! Thanks for the recommendations, and I hope you'll like The ABC Murders, just note that Christie's style is very different from Doyle's (guess which one I prefer...).
I'm a massive fan of Detectives novels...
Also, Emile gaboriau, within an inch of his life..
And the Moon Rock...I vouch my life for them, It will blow your mind!
Crime And Punishment
Thank You Madam
I didn’t really understand this story
There is a decent plot summary of it on the Wikipedia page for the novel. What specifically about the story is confusing you?
