you were right about the monthly project, this was their first title song from the "every day6 project" in January 2017 - following 11 more, all accompanied by one b-side track. I Wait was actually the song that led me to check out more from them. also Young K started as their rapper you will hear him sing more and rap less over time - but he still gets the parts that need special attitude to sing. Dowoon does participate in the background vocals as he has a very deep voice. other than that he will most likely have some lines in one song per album.
Actually all of them are vocals and Youngk is vocal and rapper too. Dowoon has some little lines in some songs that we (myday) and Day6's members love and appreciate so much bc he doesn't sing but he tries hard to learn for doing well and make his hyungs proud 🥺😍

Dowoon sings a few lines on a couple of b-sides, my personal favorite is "Wanna Go Back."
And yep, they've performed in New York before. I went to their NY shows in September last year. Young K definitely has amazing stage presence and energy, but he was jumping around so much at the concert I went to that he injured his ankle. Luckily, it was nothing serious, but dude had to ice it and go to a hospital afterward.

I Wait has a special place in my heart, it's the M/V that first got me interested in Day6.

-i think they've been in new york since they've had two world tours already but i'm not 100% sure. but this mv was way before their world tours so it probably doesn't mean anything.
-the 4 of them are actually all main vocalists, wonpil said so himself. and the ones that rap are young k and jae.
-wonpil is also my fave vocalist !!
-yeah, this mv is pretty simple bc yes, this was the beginning of their yearlong project so they kind of cut their budget to fit the whole year
-dowoon only sings in bsides so you won't really hear him in title tracks.
-you could check out unhelpful guide (updated) by the pink sweater if you want. but it uses the robot voice tho if that bothers you. idrk another guide that's good (that don't use the robot voice lol).

Yup yup, good stuff. "I Wait" is one of my top favs. I've already spammed you about my ultimate favorite song. They have soooo many good songs though. I heard PD once say that Day6 has stated they prefer their slower stuff, which is ironic considering how popular their harder songs are. Anyway, be well!

Tbh, their hard song didn’t popular as their soft rock ballad in Korea. Korean prefer You Were Beautiful, I Like You, Zombie, etc.

wonpil bias nation lets gooooo but yes theyre alll amazing vocalists!! dowoon in the past didnt have much vocal training and its hard for him to sing and keep time being drums but over the years hes been featured in at least one song per album/ep as backing vocals or get small parts! i wait is one of my favorites of all day6 songs and feels like an older brother to a newer bside track called live me or leave me which is also a JAMMER super 2010's dance rock music. day6 does nostalgia rock like no one else

Thanks for the tips! The Japanese releases are tricky. I don't get to monetize anything as it is, but getting the videos blocked sucks especially 8hrs into them being up and accruing comments.

This is my favorite Day 6 song. I don't know what JYP's problem is with rock music as he seldom let's Day 6 rock hard like they do in this. Koreans aren't big fans of rock so maybe that's why he keeps them doing endless ballads and light pop rock, but you can tell these guys really enjoy cutting loose.
I think that's a little harsh. We can't say if they would actually want to do more hardcore rock. I think they very much so enjoy giving us a large variety of different styles and genres.
Nikolai Quack agreed with you. It’s not bcs the company have problem with hard rock but I personally really think DAY6 is damn good at ballad sad song. They really delivered the emotion behind the song. I really enjoy their hard song (performance) but for the emotion, I choose their ballad song. DAY6 is a korean band, so it’s a nature that they produce song that fit Korean taste (ofcourse theirs too bcs they’re korean right). But if you looked back, ever since their 1st mini album till now, they really explore many genre. They doesn’t stick to one ballad type or one hard rock type. I really enjoy DAY6 bcs of their varieties. If I’m sad I can loop the sad ballad if I angry I can loop the hard rock kinda song.
