Thank you for this video! We are sailing Ascent for a week in March for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I’ve been watching all of yours and others videos on it in anticipation. Glad you liked the steakhouse, it’s where we are eating the night of our anniversary.
This video was great! I love how positive and upbeat you are. We tried Celebrity for the first time last March and were on the Celebrity Beyond for 7 nights and it was phenomenal. Our experience mirrored yours. We tried Celebrity again in December on Celebrity Eclipse and the food and service were great but the Solstice class ships cannot compare with the Edge class. We’ll be on the Celebrity Summit in May for a 10 night Mediterranean cruise so it’ll interesting to see what a Millennium class ship is like. We’re on the third sailing of Celebrity Xcel in November of 2025 and are excited about that. We like Celebrity very much and will still sail RC but only on the older, less family-oriented ships. Hey there Raquelle! As always you take us through the ship and educate us on everything in a way that leaves us with just enough information to be excited to learn and experience more on our own. The ship is luxury class but with a sincere sense of inclusion as you said. The cabin accommodations, the common areas, the food and entertainment that was showcased in your vlogs and review as well as all the other vlogs and reviews I’ve seen on both the 1st and 2nd preview sailings had glowing remarks. We went on a Celebrity Cruise last year, (my husband, 16 y.o., 20 y.o) and we all loved it! We didn't need rock climbing, wave pools, or waterslides. It was calm and so relaxing! My husband loved every second, while I had a few quirks, but I really did enjoy it. I definitely agree with your review. Thank you for the vlog! New Subbie in the house!
There was a celebrity cruise we were looking at when I was researching which cruise to book. I think Princess won out because it had better stops for what we wanted to do.
Solid review! Pleased to report the verandah pretty much went down every time that I wanted it to go down. I didn't notice the captain taking control of the feature too often (or maybe I was outside of my room and at the pool...didn't notice at all)
So glad you enjoyed the Celebrity Ascent. I was on the 1st Inaugural cruise and loved it. I just wanted to let you know that passengers are not allowed on the Magic Carpet when it is moving. Also, the bar in the Grand Plaza is the Martini Bar, not the Champaign Bar. I love Celebrity and am already booked on the Beyond this year and the Xcel next year. Happy cruising!

Good morning, Loved your review. Did you see any kid splash pool areas for young kids? How does the Ascent compare to Royal Caribbean Odyssey as far as crowds and parties? We are deciding between the two ships in August leaving out of Rome. We will be bringing along an 18 month old.Thanks very much for your time and look forward to future videos!
Unfortunately I don’t think this ship is the most kid friendly. They do have a kids club but no waterslides and no splash areas. For you 18 month old I’d definitely recommend Odyssey.
Great review, just wish that I had found this before I did my Christmas sailing. We did have the seafood buffet on the last sea day, and I wonder if they will continue that luncheon. The ship was beautiful, loved it, but was not a fan of the IV. I am a traditionalist when it comes to balconies. Sorry that I did not try the Sunset Grill, or the steak house. I stayed in Le Voyage... Perfection. I've booked a sailing on Beyond instead of Xcel because I don't need to be the first. 😄
Was on ascent in the retreat for two weeks back to back cruises maiden voyage 3 dec It was brilliant booked another cruise while on board. Entertainment was brilliant food service and all staff were fantastic. . No brainier book ascent you will love it
I think they do a buffet extravaganza every sailing. Although not sure if it's multiple times. Like they go all out with all the special dishes and huge cakes. Never seen the seafood extravaganza though!
I just finished watching all 4 of your videos on Celebrity Ascent. They were quite good. I sailed on the Beyond in June. I had a very similiar experience. I agree with just about everything that you said. One speciality restaurant that you should not miss next time is the Eden Specialty restaurant ( it’s one level below the Eden Bar). The food was incredible. Le Voyage is excellent but Eden which is cheap is better.

Great review! We are on the Ascent over Christmas and wondered about the dress code for dinner at night. We are pretty laid back so would sundresses and polos be ok? Pants or would nice shorts be ok?
Thank you! Enjoy your cruise. I think a nice sundress with a blazer and a polo is fine. That’s what I would wear next time. Some people were a bit more semi formal. I don’t recall seeing anyone in shorts though. Lots of men in suits. It surprised me because it felt somewhat like formal night every night to us.
Celebrity is supposed to be about food and I would say they spent a lot of time making a lot of restaurants with different atmospheres and ambiances onboard the Edge ships. They did a good job on the deck space and such. The only thing that I found missing is, and you've been on Princess and other ships to contrast, they don't have enough mingle clubs and lounges to dance in aboard this ship. And that's where I live at on a ship. That's the one area where this ship is weaker than than it should be. It's the Martini Bar or The Club mostly but I'm wanting for something like Wheelhouse Bar and an upstairs lounge on the ship too. Beyond is very similar so if you can't get back on Ascend, Beyond is almost the same thing. Apex and Edge are earlier versions and Beyond and Ascent brought in some enhancements. Celebrity can be semi-diverse. It's not like Royal Caribbean but on some cruises, it's diverse enough. Sounds like you had a really good time and that's always a good thing.
My husband and 8 year old are booked on the Ascent next Thanksgiving for my birthday. I know you said not many kids and you did not bring yours, but so you have any info on the kids club?
I was not able to get in the younger kids club because it was always locked and they would not allow me in during open hours (understandably so) because I wasn’t traveling with children- but it is located on Deck 3. Their hours seemed to be shorter than cruise lines that I’ve seen before (hours are posted in the app). Not sure if it was due to this being a preview cruise or not. But I recall seeing it being opened on a sea day from 9am-12pm. And then again from 7pm-10pm. No in between hours. But this could be due to this sailing being a preview. At one point we saw the kids doing a scavenger hunt with the kids club leaders and there were only about 7 kids. We also saw them having dinner together one night in the buffet so dinner at the kids club must be an option. Sorry I don’t have any other info about the kids clubs. Enjoy your cruise next Thanksgiving!
Thank you! Celebrity compared to other cruiselines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL- lacks diversity in terms of guests. Same for cruise lines like Holland America and Princess. This cruise was more diverse than I anticipated. I expected it to to be 90% white and average age of 50 or older but it was diverse in terms of race and age. Not many kids or 20 year olds. But I was pleasantly surprised.
@MHFamilyAdventures I guess I am different. I don't book cruises based on skin color. I book cruises based on amenities, itineraries, newer, and so on. People are people. In any case. I just realized your blog is divisive and does not promote the kind of values I seek. Take care!!!

I also don’t book a cruise based on how diverse it is, however as a content creator and travel advisor, I share things as they are so our subscribers, followers, and clients can make an informed decision based on their preferences. Nothing divisive about that. I’ve been on 41 cruises on different cruise lines and I’ve never had an issue with anyone onboard or a concern about diversity. It’s a fact that certain cruiselines (including Celebrity) aren’t as diverse as others. And that was my point. To show that the misconception of it not being diverse wasn’t true based on my experience. But sorry you misunderstood what I was saying. This is the first time anyone has ever said our vlogs are divisive-when in fact they are the complete opposite. Take care.
I completely understood the message you were trying to convey. I'm not sailing on a cruise line that doesn't represent diversity. I don't care what kind of itinerary or amenities are offered. I need to know that me and my family will be comfortable with the hard earned money that I spent to enjoy our vacation.

Kids club had their own events and activities. I saw a bunch of them running to a pool activity they didn't seem bored.
