Thanks for the video. Just finished getting everything assembled and put together. A heck of a lot easier than trying to read those directions!! Much appreciated!!
I have the same generac I have used it during an ice storm in Michigan. Ran it 4 days to keep freezers my well and furnace and water heater running. It’s noisy but it kept everything running and when you need it it kept me and family in my house…
Great video, Jack! We purchased the GP6500 after SNOVID 2021 in February that actually started on Valentine's Day. Your video has been a huge help in getting us set up. Thank you, sir.
@@jackschaberg4970 Yes. I certainly agree. When we built our house in Godley TX we added a transfer switch specifically for our generator. But as you said, we hope we never have to use it. Thanks again for this great video to help me out. I'm not a real handy man. Ha! So keep making great videos to help out guys like me. LOL! We appreciate it.
Good video for newbies assembling these monsters. And yes, they are extremely heavy. Just to toss some caution to the wind, first run should be around an hour at low load on the generator (like 1000 watts -hair dryer or small space heater). Check the oil (directions may say similar) Only put enough gas in it for 1st run of and hour or so (less than 1 gallon). Let it completely run out of gas until it stops. There should also be a drain screw on the side of the carbureator. Drain any remaing gas out if you do not plan to run it for extended period of time. If you have access to gasoline that does not contain ethanol. use that! May be a bit hard to find depending on locations. If not needed for 6 months or more, put in a small amount of fuel and run it again under a load till the engine quits. Then prep for storage again. Never leave gasoline in the tank for more than a month. Good luck - like ya say. I'd much rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Hi there. No, we haven’t had occasion to run it yet. That is a good question, though. I have heard neighbors run theirs in the past, and they are pretty loud, but in an emergency, I guess you can’t blame them. :>)
May I suggest wear leather or steel toe shoes! My son and I always have a pre job briefing to discuss what could happen! Cause our plan is not to go to the ER. You don’t want to ruin your whole day and maybe some weeks!

Thanks for the great video. In anticipation of possible power outages we got our 6500 tonight and will assemble tomorrow.
Roger, you’re most welcome. We still haven’t had to use our yet, but it’s great to know it’s ready to go when we do.
You are my hero. I’m a 67 YO woman who accomplished this all by myself thanks to you. ❤

Thanks, FamilyFun3132. A generator is one of those rare things that you buy and I hope you never have to use. Glad that you enjoyed the video.

We still haven’t used ours. Still can’t figure out if I should be happy or sad about that. :>)
We just Bought the same unit today 7/23/22 I hope it's a Dependable Generator your video was Helpful. Thanks
As happen so often with this type of purchase, you hope that you never have to use it. And we haven’t had to yet. I’m glad you found the video useful.
I have 6500 watts generator I've used it once but it's a much better than the one I had before I love it
A great example of domestic cooperation😉
Thanks, i used this as a guide
Good to hear.
have you run the 6500 yet? is it annoyingly loud as in would your neighbors be annoyed if there windows were 50’ away?

how much of the oil do i need ? #ida
Hi. As I may have mentioned in the video, the generator comes with one quart of oil, which is the amount you’re supposed to use.
It's a 196lbs same side of the serial number on the box
Bolts on the feet where back wards
May I suggest wear leather or steel toe shoes! My son and I always have a pre job briefing to discuss what could happen! Cause our plan is not to go to the ER. You don’t want to ruin your whole day and maybe some weeks!
Great suggestion!
LOL 😂 omg
flip flops?
Whatever it takes…😀
This video is extremely unhelpful. "The thingy" blurry video proceeds to show me nothing about what or how
Sorry you feel that way. Fortunately, many, many others have fond it helpful. I'll try harder next time.
Next time turn the volume down, I can could almost hear you.
Thanks bro. Big help
