Nice to see an energetic, quick thinking DJ spanking out the techno on vinyl, keeping it real and not surrounded by laptops and mixing software. Nothing against the digital format but you can't beat proper Djing like this
Hrobo Hrach true the format is irrelevant but I do think vinyl necessitates more physicality from the DJ, more physical connection as it were, and there is something nice about that.
As Surgeon has aptly said, the music is the important thing, not the medium. And even that anything that facilitates the delivery of the music can be considered a good thing. But there's something very nostalgic about seeing a DJ masterfully mixing vinyl, an old ritual, tradition, and a homage to a dying craft that required skill while modern tech is working hard to reduce the skill requirement as much as possible. I'd liken it to a Japanese swordmaker, while the process is laborious and burdensome, taking years to master, the end product is more significant and meaningful if not simply due to the effort required to make it happen
Look up Strobe hosted at Factory 010 on the 21st of January in Rotterdam. Some of the best quality underground and banging techno out there, with Sunil Sharpe as one of the headliners this edition!

true.. irish scene always was more cocks than hens for sure.. however if you wanna whinge then check out Dax J's boiler room and gorge on the scores of young hot ladies dancing completely out of sync with the music! and not to mention the who having their phones out in their hands the whole set, vibe...👍

in fact, it doesn't really matter. you can play on pocket calculator. important is energy and joy on both sides.
Hrobo Hrach true the format is irrelevant but I do think vinyl necessitates more physicality from the DJ, more physical connection as it were, and there is something nice about that.
Hrobo Hrach not really, I recently watched Nina Kravitz latest boiler room vinyl set...pretty much reflects the direction the culture is going in 😑

How he did this set for 90 minutes with dodgy turntables is beyond me. So skilled.
technics mkii, super tool the best ever pikap!!!!
I really love the tension in his sets, especially this one. Having "dodgy" turntables definitely helps the vibe for me.
For me one of the best boiler room's ever
One of the best Boiler Room sets I've seen in a long time!!
Beast, he surely deserves a bigger stage here in the Netherlands!

Bringing tears to my eyes and goosebumps after well over 30 times listening. Saint Sunil ❤
still gets me everytime that he only touches pitch fader and not plate..madness
he should probably stick to platter in fairness
@@rorz999 definitely! pitch riding the technics is really reliable and consistent for clean blends!
he's just so ridiculously good, happy to be a dub
Kalmuk giddy up 😁
Thank god he still uses vinyl and has not gone down the digital route like all the other SHEEEEP!
Go on Sunil, representing Dublin. This really puts me in the mood for a few sweet ones... it’s years since I’ve felt mdmazing!
