I started doing this a while ago and it's made so much difference. I have really narrow feet and find I have to tie shoes really tight to stop my heel and foot slipping. This style of lacing allows me to pull the laces tight enough to hold the shoes on well without causing pain across the top of my foot (which would normally happen after about 30mins). So good 👌
Thats exactly why I started using this tie as well- I have narrow feet too! SO happy this helps.
@@nf_100 Nope! Just narrow feet 🔥
At this point. I don’t even know if I’m breathing right.

This is a blessing to all the runners that have tying their shoes incorrectly. Educational....awesome.
Lady, you just showed me how to tie my shoes, whit all simple honest, thank your soul for changing my life like this,
now i finally get to reveal my full speed
I don’t even run but I’m still gonna tie my shoe like this
I've got an addition to that. From a soccer player. First knot you go over and under once, do it a second time. When you tie your bow, pull up two loops as usual, cross around behind and pull through. But don't stop, do it one more time and pull tight. And it unties just like a regular bow knot.
gonna try!
I'm going to try this for my basketball shoes
Eliminates heel flip...been doing this for years. Thanks for posting!
People who post learning videos like this really help us out.. thanks 😊
U do sound like u need help
U should see Micheal jordon.
Oh f... , I always used to hurt my ankle while running or while playing any sport, thanks it's really helpful.
Thank you I m ready to run the marathon now
When I watched those two holes i realised i have wrong pair pair of shoes.
Good morning I guess
🤪🤣🤣🤣
Damn!!! Main reason i didnt wear low tops was the lack of ankle support. This is great
And saves your toenails from being damaged if you’re training for a marathon or do lengthy runs. Love this technique 👌🏽
Really? How is that?
I don’t see the connection, but I’m curious
@@rrosomasa the toes push up against the roof of the inner front shoe as the stride lifts up. However, with this tying technique, some of the pressure of the lift is dispersed across the whole of the shoe and especially across the top of the foot and the ankle area, reducing repetitive stress on the toes. Does that make sense?
I was taught this by a runner but didn't know about pointing the toe. Thanks!
Finally a video that shows it from the POV. Every video had it from the other perspective which was slightly confusing
Its a butterfly tie. Learned it from a physical therapist 10 years ago, I show people this all the time in the hopes it changes peoples running like it changed mine. Its amazing, and shoes should come with illustrations of how to do this!
I so agree with the illustrations idea. Give a couple options for people!
Even if you don't need it. This tip is so satisfying!
This is exactly how I tie my hockey skates for freestyle skating !! 🏒
Those laces are everywhere 😂
WOW!! Now that’s how you tie shoes!? I’m so tired of wearing sandals ,now I can get real shoes with laces!! 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Most useful thing I learned in a long time!

Underrated comment
I mean, this is from 2014, so maybe I did want to talk to your manager 😂Did It help with the lacing?

I was always wondering how different it would be to tie a lace
Thank you for this tutorial ...I work construction and wear boots all day long and I’m struggling all the time to to adjust my laces so that I don’t have the ankle pain.... I am mediately noticed the difference on my ankle when I used your method to tie my boots...
So awesome! Happy it helped!
Wow. I just tried this and it actually makes a huge difference. I’ve always felt what seems like a sharp pressure line across the top of my foot where the shoe ties. This totally dispersed that pressure across a wider area. Brilliant. Thank you.
So happy it helped!
I have just learned what to do with these two holes. Thanks a lot.
Who sat down and tied their shoe a million times before deciding that is the one they like
Was running a 5K, the last 5 minutes of my run or so my left leg started to fall asleep 😅💀. Probably tied my shoes wrong. Thanks for this.
Thank you so much for this. I was walking yesterday and really was coming to terms with how fragile my ankles are. I know what to do now
All these years and i get to know this now🤦🏻♂️
Thats exactly how I felt!
This is a great way to tie hockey skates too. Keeps them tight while tying and throughout the game.

After tying my lace all my stamina is finished 😂
Where was this when I was hooping in Jordan 1's!? I surely could've use the extra support lol
It also works better if you wrap the strings over eachother twice instead of just once
That's how I get ready for basketball match lol😂
Face to express my feeling after it 😐😐😐😐😐😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Nice granny knot (Boy Scouts would know)
I love the silhouette of that sneaker
I've done this for ever for basketball volleyball and hockey and I just figured it out myself, do a simple cross with the ends before you put them in the loops

I tie my marathon system the same way I run my marathons. Via Google earth. Lol. On a side note, I used to live in the original Marathon in Greece.
And here's me who has never worn shoes with those two adjacent holes 😂😂
I tie all my sneakers and boots this way now. Makes them more comfortable. Thanks.

Thanks, now i can finally run
This is how i tie my football shoes when theres no covid and now still using it just for jog.
But idk that can support your ankles. Ty for info ❤️
Yess so thankful to the guy at Athletes foot that taught me this yeaaarssss ago, I remember he called it a “Lock lace”
I tie my hockey skates like this to stop snakebite
It's called a lace lock technique. You can tell by the way the bottom of the tongue rolling to the lateral side that the shoe is not correct for that person. The giant medial post is causing her to overpronate. Fix the shoe to keep her foot neutral and she won't have to lacelock the shoe.
Tried this with my Nikes and it's more comfortable, thanks so much ❤️
I always wondered what those extra two eyelets were for.
Those hands ❤️
If only I knew this when I ran long distance... all they told us was drink water and PUSH IT BABAY

Why am I recommend this video in middle of pandemic?!
Great tip on raising the foot!! Thank you!
Thanks a lot !
Going to run right now and test a new feeling 🙏👍
I learned to tie my shoes like that running cross-country. Our benefit is that if they come unlaced, that little bunny ear pulls down on the loose end trying to pull out, delaying the shoe loosening up. Can make all the difference in the last mile or two if it happens.
I’m ok with one hole i don’t make much use of the second 😆
Good tip, madam!
Lace lock or heel lock method of tying shoes. Been around awhile. If you have seven eyelets per side, do this method between five and seven, skipping six. Takes more pressure off the top of your foot. The other key thing was the flexing in of the foot.
RUclips exists to let me know everything I do, have done, and will do is completely incorrect.
I came here from a how to mount your bike video. You're completely right!!
Well, I've got half of it right. I lace it the same way but I didn't loop it back through the bunny ears as I just tie them normally. Guess I'll try it today.
Huh? What are you talking about? You can't be doing everything incorrectly. You are doing everything right!! Because you are willing and looking to learn... All else follows 🤙😎🖖
I still can't finish, I don't want to hurt the bunny ears
you literally do learn something new everyday!
Thank You
😊 Thanks

This is great. Pulse I always have extra and saw how you took the ends and tied those again at the end!
Thank you! I injured my ankle 10 years ago (impossible to heal completely) because of it was too tight, since then I am afraid to tie it around my ankle, I usually do it below but not so good to protect it
It's amazing but true!!!

Wow an actually proper youtube Video. Who knew these still existed
She was so sweet :) thank you for reaching out online
Fuck yay this shit works even on work boots genius idea
Lol saving your knees, merica land of all
I have a spine disease. So I've broke SO MANY bones, including my ankles. So as soon as I begin to run my ankles sprain. I never knew this. At all. Thank you!
Try power waking and adding a weighted vest for more challenge instead of running for more challenge and less chances of sprains and breaks. You can also slow down and focus more on your feet when you walk and your posture.
Now I know what's the purpose of those two holes
Thanks for this excellent tip
You're welcome! Glad it helps ☺️
