- Marshall Studio SV20 Plexi with a Fryette Powerstation PS-2 and a '69 Gibson SG Standard
Celestion G12M65 Creamback in a 1x12" cab
Recorded with an iPhone 15 Pro
That is one of the best sounds I’ve ever heard in 40 years of playing. Just perfect.
Wow, these are some big words. Thank you so much!
@@Guitarjosii Does the Depth control on the PS-2 have a large effect or is it subtle? I'm quite interested in one, but nothing close to me has any in stock so I'd have to buy blind.
@@MadMagicPaul I would say it has a big effect. But it's very useable, so both of these mini switches. I didn't have the chance to check it out before; I just bought it and it kills every other attenuator I had or heard before. The Fryette is amazing.
Man this sounds killer, probably the best sounding "phone mic" recording I've ever heard! Impressive. Nice playing and feel too, keep it up!
Wow, thank you! I really enjoy your videos - your sound is always amazing... so it really does mean something to me, to hear these positive words from you! 🤌
@@Guitarjosii you’re very kind!!
That earthy heavenly ballsy sound plus that reassuringly beautiful Marshall ' click' with each pick.
Well done !
Thanks!
Money well spent, the perfect home setup. great demo of it and quality playing... that vibrato is on point.
Thank you so much! You're right - since I bought the SV20, I rarely play my Vintage JMP
Sounds the way it should!!!
Perfect combination of guitar, amp, speaker and hands!!!
Nice playing!!!
Thank you so much 🥹
That is THE tone. Amazing
Thank you so much
That's the tone! Awesome playing too 😉
@@evan2757 thank you so much 😊
yes! WE ARE twin'ing - I Have the exact set up - though I use a G12 H Greenback and stratocaster. The fryette allows me to play at whisper levels. Expensive though..NICE PLAYING!
Really cool! The Fryette is a great match with the Marshall 😍 Thank you!!
That little LP with a P90 either Gibson or the standard Dollar kills with growl and so much fun to play. They don't seem like much of a guitar but man they just got that thing when it comes to feel and sound.
Yes, LP Jrs are amazing. But the prices have gotten crazy in the last couple years
Superb playing, great sound!👌🏼
Thanks!
Those are great amps. I love mine in red both head and cabinet. Great playing!
Thanks! :)
Cracking tone and killer playing! Sounds sooooooo good!!!
Thanks! :-)
Awesome sound & playing
thanks! :)
That is ROCK N’ ROLL! Enjoy in good health what a sound!
Thank you so much!
9:00 zz top great style. Glorious tone!!
Thanks 😊
Man that sounded so good.
Thank you so much!
Live those Slash vibes❤
Wow!! Sounds magic and superb playing 🤩🤩
Thanks man!! 🙂
absolutely killer video!
Thanks!!
Same rig!!! Mad respect!!! Great Playing
Thank you so much!
That is some glorious tone and superb playing. I have the SV20, matching cab (V Type) and the PS-2, but have yet to try my ('84) SG through it (hangs head in shame!) - been stuck on my R0 for a few years! Looks like you're able to play much louder than I can get away with at home.☹ Rock on!!🤘😎
Thanks! :-) Yeah, I can crank them up pretty good. My neighbours are used to it 😂
Did we just become best friends!? Sg, sv20 with power station!? Haha
You seem to have a really great taste when it comes to guitar gear 😂😇
What a rich sound! And very tasty playing of course. Can you go down to conversation sound levels with the Fryette PS-2?
Thank you so much! 🙂
Yup, the volume control of the Fryette is infinitely variable, works really smooth and you can turn it down to a whisper-quiet level 🙂That's a big advantage of the Fryette, compared to many other attenuators on the market.
Great amp and playing
Thanks! 😊
holy shit this is awesome
Thanks! :)
That setup is a match made in heaven...what is better than those components....69 SG R U kidding me.
Sounds great!! What settings did you used if I may ask?
Thanks man! You can see the settings at 06:18 but I constantly change the setting of the Volume knob in the video 🙂
damn
just damn
Alright the creamback sounds really good too! Is the amp stock? I've been thinking about cutting the bright cap but I think I just don't really love the V Types they chose for the cab, probably to keep cost down.
Yup, the amp is stock. I thought about removing the bright cap too. My 1987x was so much better after removing it.
A friend of mine has the Mini Silver Jubilee with the 1x12 silver jubilee cab. He replaced the stock V Type speaker for a greenback - and guess what? He sold the greenback and went for the original V-Type. These seem to be great speakers. But maybe the SV20 would sound better with a Greenback.
I think a Les Paul Jr. single P90 should be in that arsenal.
I have a 1968 SG with P90s 😊
Can you also boost the volume of the Marshall with the Power Station?
@@JonHusiar My Fryette is the PS2-version, which only has one Master Volume. The PS-100 version has two footswitchable Master Volume Controls, so you can choose between both. But for the PS-2, you can use a Volume Pedal in the fx-loop, which will have the same effect.
@@Guitarjosii Thanks!!
hey mate great tones ans playing, whats the speaker?
Thanks man! It‘s a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback
Gonna have to try those settings on my SV20! Is the power station adding some EQ the bottom end sounds thiqqqq
Yes, it does. The Fryette has a depth control :-)
@@Guitarjosiiis on in this video ? Thanks
@@rarito1976 what do you mean? :-)
@@Guitarjosii are you using the depht control in the video ? Amazing tone bro
@@rarito1976 Yep, at low volumes, I like to add a bit of depth with the fryette. Thank you so much!
👍
Mate is there any tone-suck whatsoever with this amd does it affect the feel in any way? I've been considering the Torpedo Captor but i'm starting to think that you get what you pay for...
You mean the Fryette Power Station? The Fryette is considered to be one of the best attenuators on the market. And I can see why they say that. At least its the best attenuator, I tried so far 🙂A loud amp will always be another level, but the Fryette does a really great job in what it would be like to play the amp at a high volume level.
I guess I'll have to start saving up then!
what is the cab model? open vs closed?
It is just a cheap Palmer Cab 112bx, open back, loaded with a G12M65 Creamback. I changed the grill cloth to this checkerboard 70s style material 🙂
What speaker do you use?
Celestion G12M65 Creamback
Angus
Hope your neighbours love a cranked SG !
They love the fact that I bought the Fryette, lol 😂
Saugeil Johannes! DB Messer im Bild wäre geil gewesen. Wie war die gefühlte Lautstärke? Saludos ✌🏼
