One of the passages that brought me into the Roman Catholic Church! praise be!

    • @Shiloh3498

The Roman Catholic gospel teaches you must add to the grace of God by bringing your own good works. This is a false gospel.
This will cut you off from Christ, and send you to damnation. (Please see Galatians)

@@Shiloh3498 You’ve clearly saturated yourself in the traditions of modern men and their falsehoods, Luther who deified the authority of conscience and condoned and supported divorce as well as Calvin who prepared the way for a thoroughgoing materialism deification of wealth and monetary possessions. The Catholic Church condemned Pelagianism (works-based salvation) as heresy although it’s alive and well in Protestant prosperity-gospel circles. I would suggest you re-read Romans and understand the Greek notion of pistis … obedience that is faith and vice versa. Don’t talk to Catholics about works (that’s middle school stuff and evidence of your bias and modernist programming) instead ask us about obedience which is scriptural! also, you need to get Exodus 3:14 correct in order to understand your false concept of God’s sovereignty. Ipsum esse subsistens … Protestants are direct exegetical descendants of The nominalistic Occam who denied human nature and universals … Calvinist notions of sovereignty has Christ as a kind of divine creation who exists on the same ontological map of being as we do. In other words, he must get all the glory and his creations none. This has he creatures being mere passive pawns in an arbitrary world of God’s capricious will. THIS IS NOT SCRIPTURAL AT ALL! The implications of our being created and Christ being consubstantial with God and not created will correct your exegesis, friend. check out Scott Hahn’s book on Romans for a starter … also Brant Pitre

@Eevee * Ha! Catholics endure daily slander, lies, and ignorance from Protestants who question whether we’re saved! accuse us of idolatry! State that we worship Mary, worship idols, are members of a heretical cult! you’re telling me I have a high horse? You’re telling me Catholics berate Protestants at an equal rate? Nonsense! Attacks tend to go in one direction. Douglas Wilson and James White are examples of pastors who attack ... so, many educated Catholics defend ourselves on RUclips. sorry about your injured feelings ... welcome to the club

No such thing as a shallow, meaningless sermon with Doug, and one that the most common person can understand. Makes you wonder why we have so many pastors that need to find a different line of work.

Great teaching, thank you. 😊 Though it wasn't the first Pentecost when the Spirit alit on them.
The Hebrews had been observing this Holy day for millinia, in Hebrew it is Shavuot. It is the 50th day of Counting the Omers that starts during Passover. One Counts seven sevens (49) + one day. It is also said to be the day that Moses received the decalogue. Pentecost is Greek and it means 50.

Shavuot feels like the only one of God’s Times that is not shunned...but it’s sad that it’s not related to the original day rather than solely focusing on the events that happened with the Followers. The picture is so much bigger if the timing is considered in context!

Who is the Holy Spirit? But the first big question is WHO IS INSIDE JESUS ? Well, we are absolutely sure that THE FATHER IS INSIDE JESUS AND LEADS HIM VERY TIGHTLY when speaking and acting :
    (1)
"Truly, truly I say to you, THE SON IS NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING of himself,45 but ONLY WHAT HE SEES THE FATHER DOING; for whatever things that One does, THESE THINGS ALSO THE SON DOES LIKEWISE.
    (2)
"When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will find out that I am he,
and OF MYSELF I DO NOTHING, but rather EXACTLY AS THE FATHER HAS TAUGHT ME, THOSE THINGS I SPEAK. 29And the one who sent me IS CONTINUALLY WITH ME. HE HAS NOT LEFT ME ALONE, because I always do the things pleasing to him."
    (3)
"49 FOR I FROM MYSELF HAVE NOT SPOKEN; rather, the Father who sent me, he has given me
COMMANDMENT, WHAT I SHOULD SAY, and HOW I SHOULD SPEAK. 50And I know, that his commandment means eternal life. Therefore, WHAT THINGS I SPEAK, JUST AS THE FATHER HAS SAID THEM TO ME, I SPEAK THEM JUST SO."
    (4)
"The statements which I say to you I do NOT SPEAK FROM MYSELF, BUT THE FATHER ABIDING IN ME IS DOING HIS WORKS."
    ..........
Is also SOMEONE ELSE there, inside Jesus to lead Him? Of course not: from the above verses we see that Jesus is very tightly led by the Father, "continually". No one else is there "...He has not left me ALONE..." i.e. just the Father with the Son, period. How can you explain that Jesus is filled with the Holy Spirit?
    (5) "FILLED with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from Jordan and was LED BY THE SPIRIT into the wilderness.".....
With those verses (1)-(4) Jesus reveals that the HOLY SPIRIT inside Him IS THE FATHER. This means that the Father is supposed to be a spirit. Indeed, we find confirmation that the Father is a spirit "God is a spirit". Not only in Jesus, exactly the same kind of relief - by the Father - when speaking - also occurs inside the disciples: "because it is not ye that will speak, but the SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER...". However, you can notice there that the term "SPIRIT" is used instead.
Well, confusion arises because Jesus has the "Father who is a spirit" and calls Him sometimes "FATHER" (generally when Himself is concerned), sometimes "SPIRIT" (of God, Holy, of the Father...) when other people are concerned (see the apostles above). But they are just TWO NAMES for the SAME ONE SPIRIT: THE FATHER. No further "omnipotent spirit Lord who gives life" exists: it's an invention. But this was obvious: for example the Devil could be INSIDE you, trying - UNNOTICED as much as possible - to steer your mind and to convince you do something. Well, God is no less, He is able to perform that action too! If God is inside you, trying to lead you, then the HOLY SPIRIT IS IN YOU.
Thus, "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is SYNONYM of "blasphemy against the Father". No one has been FORGOTTEN there: just TWO blasphemies are possible, one against the Father and one against the Son! This also means that when Jesus was baptized, simply the Holy Spirit - i.e. the Father who is a spirit - SAID "...you are my beloved Son...". Just the Father and the Son were there, TWO ! No one else exists "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me". The "omnipotent spirit Lord giver of life" is thus just an invention.
The Father is now ONLY ACTIVE in His "Spirit form" (see for example the Holy Spirit and Mary's pregnancy), but He also existed in His "normal form" (see "the Father" of the baptismal formula). God existed in his "normal form" ONLY BEFORE the birth of the universe "Righteous Father, the world has not known you..." this is why "No one has ever seen God..." and why Jesus inherited the kingdom of God "The Father loves the Son and has given him all things into his hand." . God who dwells in that remote past is thus the SOURCE of the "Spirit of God". The Spirit of God proceeds from the Father and acts here. But He is just a God's ATTRIBUTE, not someone else.

I don’t mean to post this comment is to highlight how grateful I am to have come across dogs work I feel as if he’s a kindred spirit of sorts because his message in mine are very much similar from the perspective of the contemporary Church reviewed is slightly askew of current theological doctrine so to speak my best explanation I’ve been told I was a blasphemer and rebel and it was the Devil that compelled me to question say for example when people complain about the modern church my reply is does that surprise you remember the story of the seven churches of Asia I can’t remember the story I just know that one made the mark and another kind of got the grace card because of one little thing or another so the question is do I go find that one church that a sound or am I the example to the rest of the churches CFR those six happen to be in my hometown do I owe it to them to be a light or do I wander the earthLooking for and/or complaining about where is this one may be either would be the thing to do but that is the question no doubt well I was always told to get out because of my criticism of 5 1/2 churches so if that makes any sense happy to of met Doug

I almost died laughing when he started talking about how it’s wrong to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit has given you to divide the church. You are a Calvinist correct? What does that just not apply if the church happens to be Catholic? Is this person listening to himself speak?

    • @greggoodrich5189

The Catholic Church has departed from the teaching of the apostles (Acts 15). All that builds upon this is in error. The sacrament is a divinely given sign and seal. It is not the reality by which we are saved. To say otherwise is to cause division by denying the first council.
