- The character creation is the same as before, so I tried my old presets and looked at the latest hairstyles while recording. The game still looks decent for all the years, but since the new engine upgrade, it feels a bit soulless... and the Chinese censorship doesn't help at all...

When the men's outfits have more of a revealing look than the women's... your game has a real problem.

First time knowing BnS? Thats just one of many Male & Female costume and u already judge the game. Naked one just default outfit, not even a costume.

Cuz it's Chinese version client. The Korean version client is uncensored but it hasn't been opened yet. 😅
@@obosytuWe didn't get that outfit for the west, they changed it with a new outfit.
The female outfit designs looks nerfed compared to the original Blade and Soul
they do but that's because they can't use the original designs anymore which were made by Hyung-Tae Kim. Since he has his own company Shift Up and obviously he wasn't hired for this game (which technically is a new game) . Which is why Blade and Soul 2 (a mobile game) also had uglier designs. The characters style we love from the original game can be seen in Shift Up games like Destiny Child and Stellar Blade, there's also Nikke but the style of characters there are way too different from Blade and Soul

Looks good but the Outfits are missing that Kim Hyung-Tae charm to them tbh.

I don't hate this game. I just don't like the company behind this game. They keep making the same mistake over and over and do not learn from it.
They really look like Barbie dolls now but with more assets.

If anything, they should invest into projects like Aion 2, BnS 2 and AA2 rather than, remaking classics with no purpose in the long run. At least, we get to look forward to Monster Hunter wild sometime next year hopefully 😆

because the original character designer isn't working in this game and hasn't been working for NCSoft for years. The original designer is Hyung-Tae Kim the director of Shift Up (his own studio made after he left NCSoft)
dont know what they did, but it has lost the feeling of Hyung-tae Kim art style and the eyes look weird
That last one's censorship is horrible, without mods I probably won't touch this, or maybe is just the CN version and KR/NA will be fine?
I actually like the new hairstyles but I'm worried about this part 2:15 that dress clipping between the legs is like plastic, not very good for a modern update
good thing that if this is like the first game, mods will be very easy to do and to use. After all the original game mods only allow the outfits to change in the user side which made them undetectable since only you as a player would see the mod, other players would see the outfits as they are in the game

l really dont care about the censorship and really l dont think they should be making such drama, especially if it helps the game reach a broader audience. In fact l think it looks more sophisticated and less coarse or "sexualized" which has been a trend in kr mmos since the beggining

yes the original artist /designer left NCSoft ages ago. You can see his beautiful artwork in Shift Up games since he is the owner and director of Shift Up Hyung-Tae Kim
