Something about the body shape of the Bantam seems just a little different from the typical Spector. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly, but I really like it.
No, probably the priciest stock short scale would be the Alembic Stanley Clarke. Used they go for $14,000+, new will be more and will depend on which options you get.
For the cost, I would expect more than a two band BTC EQ; I have basses that cost less than half that with BTC EQs. Same goes for the pickups. The cost for pretty mainstream electronics is a bit much
Just seeing this comment now - nope, that's the normal thing to say - what my dad always said was 'dudes and du-cess-es' (possibly riffing on 'dukes and duchesses', but I can't say for sure)
Just think of the bass guitars that you could get for half that then think about what you could get for 2 k. Not a chance , absolutely no scenario that I would pay two grand for that thing
@@donnix7119 It's the only Spector I would buy. I'm just too small of a person to play those loooooonnnnnnnnggggg neck Spectors. Very tiring and painful for my arms.
I try to play stuff that makes sense for the bass, but definitely not only metal - In the latest shorty episode I play Beatles, Rush, KISS, and even a couple TV/Movie themes. Also check out the Cameo bass vid, I don't think any metal riffs in there. Our channel definitely has roots in metal, though, so that is a well we tend to go back to.
I've really been enjoying the shorties and fivers series! Keep it up guys!
My absolute fave short scale! So glad you featured it.
Loving this series! Don’t stop. I have this bass and it’s awesome.
It lacks that *punch* from a longer scale bass but I can see this sitting in a pop/disco/rock mix nicely.

I love Spector basses. Just not the price tags..
I have a 2000s my guess with Gold hardware...blows away all my other higher end basses full 34 in scale..
Hey man nice shot
I would love to see a series about budget basses
Like the performer series from Spector
I'd love to see a review on their Bantam 5 string. It has a 32" medium scale. I have a Euro 5 LX that I love with a 35" scale length.
Nice. So much fundamental, I thought you were using an octaver in your jams. (And I like red, fwiw.) But the price!
I've been getting into shorties lately. Would love to hear a demo and your thoughts on the Reverend Wattplower mark ii
Pretty. Is this the most 3xpensive shortie available?

It doesn't LOOK like a short scale so i guess if you were self conscious about having a shortie nobody would be able to tell.
Fun fact the Bantam 5 string is 32 inches.
Totally not relevant lol
So I can have one on Take 5!!!
@@Therealchuckbailey Didn’t you already review the bantam 5? I don’t think it was on Take 5, but I thought you did a review on the channel.
@@ryangoodrow8829 I don’t think so???
Dude, it's dudes and dudettes. lol

That bass is a piece. For it to cost anywhere close to a grand is a joke. Lacks so much. E STRING sounds terrible

How about for around $1500?

You play only some metal licks! Stop it…..
