  • Recorded on July 13, 2014 by my wife Gail Whisenant of me going for a flight in this incredible 1944 Stinson V-77 Reliant (AT-19) "Gull Wing" N69357 Construction Number (C/N) 77-448 Footage taken at the 30th West Coast Cub Fly-In at Lompoc Airport, Lompoc, California USA (KLPC)
A Huge Thank You goes out to Pilot/Owner Rene L. Minjares of Barnstormers Aero Services, Inc. for the beautiful flight around the city of Lompoc, California and for the Amazing experience to fly in such an historic aircraft.
We departed Lompoc Airport & flew around the city, did a high speed pass over the airport then came in for a Touch-N-Go then came in & landed.

    Info listed below from Wikipedia
The Stinson Reliant was a popular single-engine four to five seat high-wing monoplane manufactured by the Stinson Aircraft Division of the Aviation Manufacturing Corporation of Wayne, Michigan.
The Reliant was used by the U.S. Army in World War II as a utility aircraft, designated UC-81, and as trainer designated AT-19. They were also used by the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force for light transport and communication duties. After the war they were sold on the civilian market as the Vultee V-77.

I don't think any wing is more beautiful than a Stinson gull wing.
    Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

Man, I love that bird! (The Reliant, & also the Beech 17) I've never seen the beautiful contours of that unique wing so effectively captured on video as in this one. Kudos to your bride for the great camerawork. An RC version is next on my to-do list. (I can wish for a full-scale version, but ……. oh well.)

What a great coincidence- my latest restoration on an abandoned old kit of mine has been a 1/48th scale Stinson Reliant SR.9 in a scheme pretty similar to this one (unbeknownst to me): ruclips.net/video/Ub83v_ITFQo/видео.html
Oh well- I guess that we cannot know everything about the world, can we?...
Very nice footage, by the way.

Too much noise in the microphone.
