- Hi everyone and welcome to my channel. Today I am sharing my Mackenzie-Childs inspired rooster painted and my thrift store find painted French Country style. Thanks for watching and safe safe and healthy.
Throughly enjoyed your video. It was relaxing to watch with the music you played. Beautiful pieces. The snow covered trees and ground was gorgeous.

I must admit I am not necessarily a Mackenzie Childs or Ray Dunn person. I don't like to follow a crowd. But I do love what you have done with your chickens, roosters! Every thing you do is so beautiful. Because you did it yourself they are unique and that's what I like. One of a kind 👍♥️

I just liked checked patterns and plaids. I also like how the roosters have the swirls on them.

I have an idea. Why don't you buy hens and roosters and paint them like you did. We will buy them!
That is a good idea but they are hard to find. I am thinking of making my rustic roosters and sell them.

We just started our thrift flipping videos and are opening a booth next weekend. Mainly we do art on furniture, but we currently have at least 18 Roosters going into the booth! I sure hope they are in demand in our area 🙏🏼. These are gorgeous Jody❣️ I am subscribing 🎉

You are gifted in that painting. Looks so easy, but I know it’s not that easy because I did a duck. The rooster looks great. He does look elegant. Oh wow could I ever be so lucky. $13 dollars , tHat was a great deal. Pat in NC. Wish I could show you my duck . I love him, I love Mackenzie-Childs things anyway. I have an antique toy hen my brother in law gave me years ago, he found it in an old mule barn they were tearing down on some property in Kentucky. Think I will give this a go on her!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Jody I can see way all our chickens are moving to your house, they are all getting new outfits. That rooster is uncle Reds oldest son Rocky, we didn’t know if he was gonna make it, someone stepped on him still in the egg 🥚 but with some therapy he pulled through but he did limp far may years. He is a very picky eater.

The rooster in this video I got at Gordman's. The other roosters/hen I got from Hobby Lobby last year. I am on the lookout for more that can be painted this way.
Did you use acrylic paint on the rooster? You mention the color but not what kind of paint as in acrylic, chalk paint oil based. And was the rooster ceramic? I want to do this to a ceramic rooster I have but don’t want the paint to chip off. How has your rooster held up? Love this idea. ❤️❤️
Yes I used acrylic craft paint. The rooster is resin and I use a matte finish spray. I have never painted ceramic so I am not sure what kind of paint to use.

I’ve always say, it’s only paint . . . You can paint it again if you don’t like it. I can’t wait for the store to be open again, I am going thrifty - you inspire me to get out the paint and make it go with my decor. It’s going to snow again tomorrow - Spring showers? LOL We know that means snow.

Well I just got one thing to say....who am I kidding. I think the rooster came out great. When you put the yellow on the back of of it just made it better. It turned out great. @@jodyatsouthernseasons many possibilities. I picture black and white diamonds with the raised part in gold. Maybe courtly check on the base. And the maybe leave the rest. Lol. I can be a bit opinionated sometimes😉

Jody, what brand and sizes of paint brushes do you use when painting the rosters? They sure are beautiful!
Thank you Connie. I got these brushes at Walmart. They came in a large pack with varies sizes. I can be pretty rough on my brushes so I just buy the inexpensive ones. 😊💕😊

I used to do tole painting on wood that I cut out at craft shows. I might start selling some of my rustic rooster that I showed in other videos.

You are skilled in painting and transforming pieces. You have an eye for seeing pieces for what they could be and you bring it to life. You are much more talented than me,but we are of a kindred spirit. I think that's why I like to redo furniture from time to time. I absolutely love the Rooster. You seem so relaxed when you paint. It seems like it's almost therapy for ya (that's a good thing). The snow is beautiful. Shew, Did you see all those Toronto's in the southern states over Easter weekend? On Wikipedia it listed something like 83 plus confirmed Toronto's. It missed us praise God, but it was too close for comfort. I feel so bad for those people not only are they dealing covid 19, but now this. I never heard of something like that before. We got rain and thunderstorms off of it. It woke me and hubby up from sleep a big thunder boom and it was loud.
