Theory: The reason both of the kids don't have parents is because at one point you can hear people screaming, the screaming was either a car accident they got into, a riot, or even the su!c!d3, max became permanently brain damaged, it explains why he blurts one word, and the fire trucks are the reason he likes them cuz they were the ones that saved max
