That Fisk fellow knows what he is doing. Fantastic instrument. Very nice demonstration too!
The stop tablets and their location is my favorite set-up because it is so easy to make changes on the fly without using pistons.
What a brilliant demonstration.I remember seeing the flooded church and amazingly Fisk has repaired it!
Wonderful sounds from this pretty instrument. Your demonstrations themselves are works of art. Köszönöm, Bálint!
Thank you very much!
A stunning instrument superbly demonstrated. Respect❤
Great to hear the restored organ.
An absolutely magnificent 2-manual organ where every stop is beautiful in its own right and every stop contributes to a plenum which fills the building without becoming uncomfortably loud. The REEDS are warm and restrained but still do their jobs to perfection. On top of all that the case and console are, again, «restrained» but absolutely elegant like a Chanel suit! I'm not fond of stop TABS but in this case they're so elegantly done I'd «suffer» them just to have such a beautiful instrument. High kudos to FISK! Also... many thanks to Balint Karosi for his choice of OLD 124th as his demo piece and for demonstrating the beauty of the instrument so well.
Such a lovely organ, the case is very funky too, I like it :)
Another great demonstration of stops...I always enjoy hearing Balint!
Dulcian a kedvenc de minden register gyönyörűen szol
This reimagined organ is an absolute triumph! Congrats, Bálint!
Thank you Andrew, come by when you are in NYC!
Great Organ! Klais Organs from Bonn, Germany, my hometown, are simply the best!
They are certainly built very well!
Stunning "sacrilegious" improvisation with the pedal Cremona! Phenomenal demo... what a versatile 2 manual instrument.
eine ehrliche Orgel mit ehrlichen Registern, die sich gut miteinander mischen. Sehr gute Arbeit des Orgelbauers und phantastisch gespielt von einem hervorragendem Organist. Was will man mehr. Chapeau !!!
Amazing! Thank you so much!
Bálint köszönet ezért a részletes hangszer bemutatóért, nagyon szépek az új regiszterek, és az egész orgona, gratulálok, és sok-sok értékes zenét kívánok hozzá.
I love this instrument, One of the best you've done. Size doesn't mater, it what you do with it that counts.
What a great Instrument! 😊 Thank your dear Organ master Mr. Karosi!! Greetings from Austria! 🇦🇹
What a beautiful sounding machine, introduced in your wonderful, inimitable style. Bravo.
From a disastrous flood comes a sparkling legacy. (Gratulálok!)
Thanks so much for this excellent demo-! When I visited NYC, I was only able to look in through the glass and lust at the magnificent case. The Gamba - is absolutely beautiful!
Loved this demo! The kind of playing with the celeste and pedal cremona at 31:16 (and that you also put at the beginning of the video) isn't the sort of thing I expected to hear at this demo, but it was gorgeous!
Thank you. I hope to see you play in person some day.
An interesting organ in what appears to be a visually very pleasing modern space. Essentially a modern German romantic organ with a few baroque stops thrown in to add versatility. But by far the biggest success is the Kellner temperament, an extremely wise choice, beautiful sounding and so much more successful than some of the other so-called “Bach” temperaments. Suitable for all styles, keys and periods of music contrary to popular thought. Congratulations to whoever chose this tuning. If only it was used on the modern piano more often!
That is an interesting perspective, I would say the other way around: a modern neo-Baroque/Orgelbewegung instrument with some Romantic stops to add versatility! 🙂The Fisk rebuilt with the added new 8' stops made is certainly more versatile!
Thank you Balint for another wonderful demonstration of a fine sounding and versatile organ which, to me, seems to be just the right size.
My pleasure!
Stunning instrument and even more stunning demonstration! Thank you very much!
What a great little organ, in the land of giants! 😁
I want to hear it in person, but your demo is wonderful, as always. Thank you!
Many thanks!
Some amazing sounds Balint. Congratulations on a beautiful instrument.
Bravo to all involved in this project! There is so much music in the pipework of that organ and it is wonderful to see and hear such a marvelously done restoration and renovation. May it be a model for other organs of this era. Thanks for the video!
I was hoping also that this would be a good precedent!
C.B. Fisk does such nice work! Well done, as usual, good sir!
Thank you kindly!
It's good to hear another organ demonstration. I have missed them.I hope the next ones are not so long in coming.
I am teaching in Michigan, so I have not so much time!
Wonderful demonstration of the rebuilt Klais. The mixture on the Great does indeed sound better with out the 2' super octave. The Scharf is gorgeous. Very enjoyable to hear this instrument rebuilt and back in playing condition. Thank you Balint !
WOW, played this instrument when I was much younger, and it was nice but this is MUCH better! I also really like the improvement in acoustics (nice reverb time). BRAVO, FISK!!
Zeneileg képzetlen, hangszerekhez hozzá nem értő, de lelkes régizene hallgató vagyok, akit ez az orgona és ez a bemutató teljesen lenyűgözött! Köszönöm a föltöltést!
You are without peer in this type of endeavor. And you are a brilliant improviser. Bravo!
This was THE BEST demonstration of stops on an organ I’ve heard. None of this 4 or 5 measures stuff, but longer selections played with appropriate music.
Truly one of the best-sounding organs I've heard in some time. Thanks for the demonstration.
Bon anniversaire monsieur Valentin!
Félicitations Balint!
Éblouissant ❤
Merci!
Having seen the video you made after St. Peter's Church was flooded by the watermain break, how the solemn mood of that video contrasts with the glory of your presenting this Fisk rebuild of the Klais organ. Clearly everyone pitched in, determined not to let that disastrous flood put an end to St. Peter's mission as a Manhattan church. Balint, were you hired to be a consultant with Fisk on how the organ should be rebuilt? You must have been delighted when Fisk was chosen to rebuild and add its own pipework to this organ; the finished result is truly magnificent! I was hoping you would return to St. Peter's to give a demonstration - I've greatly enjoyed it.
Hans uit Zwolle luistert met aandacht klinkt mooi
Köszönjük❤
Szívesen!
An intriguing instrument despite its limiting size. I really enjoyed this presentation and could listen to the beautiful improvised versettes forever! When do some of them be some available in sheet music format?
This specification style is what I am very familiar with our Johannus INC digital organs, every for small chapels. But more on the romantic side.
Very nice!

The acoustic sounds pretty much ideal. There’s a warm halo around the sound, but everything is crystal-clear and articulate.
Agreed, however, I wish the mics were about two feet farther from the organ to capture more of the room but it was not possible with the catwalk being where it is
I find it very interesting that Klais organs were quite popular in the USA for a while. It's a company from Germany. But I find it astonishing that these organs are not renewed by the same company. The new Klais generation also has a different sound philosophy than that of the 1970s.
That pedal Cremona 🤤
The best!
Congratulations with your renovated and newly intonated organ. It now has an inspiring sound in many ways. Only the new principal 8 do not convince me yet. Balance between base tone and harmonics and a piece of unrest in the start of the tone, I think, needs still some attention.
I believe you are the resident doctorate organist here... 😊
I am! :-)
is it tuned equally?
This organ has some interesting ideas with some interesting implementations. I would be lying if I say I would do everything exactly the same. But hearing some thoughts out of the box here is very inspiring.
The temperament is Kellner
@@bkarosi Aaah, thank you!
Incredible! Would you use Quintadehn 8' on its own, or do you always couple it with another 8' stop?
It may be used by itself
Thank you
Obviously the organ is well built and rebuilt but my personal opinion is that it is very scratchy and too hard high pitch.
It needs more middle sounds more 8 foot ranks otherwise its very hard on the ears.

the organ design itself is quite uninspired
The visual design was intended to suit the Modernist church's architecture, and represents its own time (1976).
I visited the church in 1996, and found the organ case not only to be quite well-fitted to the church's architecture, congruent and harmonious with its environment, but also about the most interesting-looking thing in the room.
The case is what Josef Shaefer did with the Vignelli design. Even the tiestyds were supposed to be square.
Too bad that, after restoration, it's still the ugliest-sounding organ in New York City.
