Dave, Man I'm lovin your reactions!! Those analogies, hot dog and mustard, roller coaster, stubbed toe etc. are funny but also clearly explain your feelings which are identical to my own. It's amazing a 12 year old can arrange a song and deliver it the way she does. She's got jazz and soul in her blood. Now she's even inspired you to buy a new sax! I love when the song is over she just stands there like "no big deal this is what I do" and then a little curtsy. Thanks for staying in this rabbit hole. I'm having so much fun watching you and listening to your comments. Can't wait for the next one.
It doesn't matter how many times I see this one. It blows me away every time at how effortlessly she is able to do that. She stands up there at 12 years old, in front of a full crowd, with a full military band behind her, and she just _Owns_ that stage. The textures, the timing, the phrasing... it's all just top level vocals. I think JB would be very proud of what Angelina did here. I agree with everything you said about the runs.... some people do runs over the top and it pulls me right out of the song. Angelina seems to do runs that are so perfectly placed, and so tastefully done that you barley even hear them, you just _feel_ them, and instead of taking you out of the song, they pull you in even deeper.
Your using the word "tasteful" to describe also is especially explanation of her performances, and also of the the "Angelina Environment" she is, creates, and strives for for herself, her family, her fans, and those caring in her world.
Love your metaphors😂 hotdog and mustard, roller coasters and stubbed toe... Angelina Jordan makes your mind run crazy. I love this performance AND your reaction. Keep on What it Do!
Nice reaction - thanks! I love the contrast of a powerhouse singer belting out this classic and the 12 year old girl doing a curtsy at the end. 🙃 It’s awesome!
She takes your heart and gives you her soul! Absolutely one of her great performances I knew you would love, if you played it to the end you would see even the band gave her a standing ovation! Love your heartfelt reactions Dave! Keep on keeping on!
Virtually everything she sings is in a different voice from everything else she has sung. I guess that is why I can listen to her all day every day and never get bored. Watch those clarinet players at the very beginning, then pay attention to the conductor after her strong run towards the end. He has heard her sing this numerous times in rehearsal, yet he practically falls over backwards when she belts that out.
Dave, Dave, Dave, what can I say. Its such a pleasure to watch your excitement for Angelina. She is the only singer giving me a complete set of chills. This performance right here, is blowing me away, even after hundreds of listens. It is just too good to be true. Thank you for this in depth and awesome reaction 😊
Twelve year old Norwegian girl with legitimate, authentic soul. Angelina does it her way, but she gives us soul that flows so naturally and effortlessly. James Brown would be honored by this.
Its quite a recognition to be invited to sing on this album when she was 11yo. It was released in 2018 when this band celebrated their 200 years aniversery. 😊 They had only worked with her indoors so she had held back a little, but here... Full beast mode that even blew the conductor of his feet!😁 Edit: the album is on Spotify for all to enjoy (Its Magic). I just bought the cd. An other thing: 12 yo and a full consert with 13 songs! She has some lungs..
No matter how often I listen to Angelina's 👣 songs.. hundreds of times Thousands of times it doesn't matter it Always feels like First time 🤔 Is it only me or does any of You feel/experience the same thing ? I really like to know? ~ OneLove 🕊

@@genevapriest6190 so true, Angelina 👣took up on her self at the age of 6 a Mission to Beam Light into this World and spread Love and Hope around with her Singing and She has stayed true to that to this day🤞. ~ OneLove 🕊
Oh Dave you make me laugh this morning. Just love your reactions. Again Angelina draws us into her world of song. Thank the heavens she loves to sing. I just love listening to Angelina.
I am so glad you got to this performance. One of the best I think Angelina has ever done - and I love that the band gives her a standing ovation, like you said, they were as much audience as they were performance in this one!
Great reaction Dave. Love your ridiculous analogy's. You not only missed the conductor being blown away, as others have said, but the clarinet guy with glasses that you thought wasn't into Angelina, is one of her biggest fans in the band. Watch his reaction when she belts out the 1st note, he looks up to the sky as if to say "Thank you God." Then several times after that he shakes his head in amazement, & this was the Album Release Concert. Six or 7 months earlier, they rehearsed this several times & recorded to for the album, "It's Magic," so the band thought they knew what she could do. They didn't know, what all her fans know, that she is always better in front of a live audience & she was 1/2 year older. So they were as shocked as the audience. I wouldn't hold your breath on that jam session with Angelina, I think think every amateur musician & soon every professional, will want to collaborate with Angelina.
The commitment and respect that you show Angelina and we can also speak of the joy and appreciation in your reactions is why I keep coming back. Angelina is worth the time and IMHO it's time the industry quit shying away from her and give her to the world...it's a win win. Dave, thank you for being there for us.
Man I love that rollercoaster metaphor. Taking the plunge is fun, right? And then over and over and over . . . . Never gets old. The runner zone -- that's exactly where she is. All the time. And she brings everyone else with her.
Your right it is the military band Angelina knows all of them so well she’s worked with them in Oslo for years You need to see her in rehearsals with the band and I can tell you Angelina is the boss Angelina and the conductor just bounce of each other they stop if there’s something she doesn’t like it gets changed and then there off again she always was comfortable with them and they all new they could relax around her they were all friends at the end of the day and that’s why they just worked together so well .I bet she really misses them all so much now she’s in LA I bet she really misses Norway 🇳🇴 and all her friends but I’m sure she will go back home as soon as she can Love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👼👼👸🏻👸🏻🦶🦶👏👏👍👋
Your eyes were closed when she sang "He's loo-oo-ost in the wilderness" the conductor gets "lost" looking back at her in disbelief knowing THAT wasn't done in rehearsal.
From the darkest (Gloomy Sunday) to the saddest (Million Miles) , over the deepest (All I Ask) to the wildest emotions (like this performance, or "I put A Spell On You") , Angelina can sing them all, always with the same genius musical brilliance and no matter her age. Angelina does not sing songs, she sings emotions.
@@robertgieseler1220 Of course no one can SING only emotions, otherwise it would be yelling or crying. But very few can or could express both songs AND heartfelt emotions at te same time, in such a genius accurate and unique way, especially considering her very young age in this performance and other. She's one in a billion.
Yet another fantastic Angelina reaction, Dave! The only thing missing from this performance is for Angelina to drop to her knees, then have some guy run in from backstage and drape a cape over her shoulders. (You may be too young to get that reference!) Keep up the great work. We can't get enough of you.....and Angelina!
It's the Norwegian Armed Forces Band. It's the band whose label she recorded her album "It's Magic" back in2018, which did quite well on the iTunes Jazz charts. I love the reaction of the band at the end :-)
She says that she never get nervous while performing. She is looking forward to sing for people. It's just fun for her. All she wants is to sing all day. And she does it well. I wish that I had more than my two ears while listening to this girl. She nails it each and every time, whatever she is singing. She is going places.
Your reactions are an absolute joy Dave. Watching you reactions to miss Jordan, is really a treat. Angelina is out of this world, and Man's World is to me up between 10 - 20 best performances. It's getting harder and harder to pick a favorite. Her newest originals and covers, are all perfections. I am wondering where she can go from here, when her work when she is 15, is absolute perfection...
I just love your analogies and metaphors to describe Angelina's performing style and our bodily and emotional response to such greatness. That is an awesome reaction, Dave. By the way, very american, at times, like here with that mustard, ketchup and relish hot dog comparison. Continue to impress me, Dave, till you drop, with the way you feel, as a musician, and explain so adequately her music.
Great reaction! I love it!! May be next could be one of the covers she made when she was 13 years old from 2 songs of Queen: Bohemian Rapsody, the version she sang in the AGT show and the other one the cover of the Show must go on. Incredible cover too.

Sir, It was a surprise present for her 12th birthday. The Band of the armed forces of Norway had first asked her parents and offered doing a charity CD with AJ and a concert in Oslo at a pond beside the castle. The prime Minister of Norway herself was in the audience that day. She IS a fan of AJ since little AJ sang for her in her office. German Greetings, stay save and healthy.
@@robertgieseler1220 A few years back I saw that video, and I have to correct myself, it was her 11th birthday. They did the CD when she was 11 years old and the concert was in summer 2018, when the band had their 200th birthday of existence. The Prime Minister of Norway came as some others. So what better way to invite the Treasure of Norway, to sing the song on her Album. I do hope I could help out with those Information sir.
Hi Dave, I’m glad your enjoying the Angelina journey. It’s something so special and uplifting. I’ve been blessed to have had her in my live for 3 and a half years. I l’ve started by day with Angelina for all but 3 of those days. She is a gift to the world and I love watching new people seeing her for the first time. And I have to say. I love your analogies you use. So good. The hotdog. The roller coaster. Awesome. Enjoy the rest of the journey. You have a ways to go 😊
i have never heard anyone sing this better then james brown, but she is way up there chanelling him. thank you for watching this video and giving us the jazz perpective. your awesome.
@@devon7008 I agree, this beautiful girl has given today's generation a gift of some of these old songs that were so precious and she has added something special to them.
Loved the reaction Dave to one of the Angels greatest covers of all time. Like the comment below suggests, you need to go back and watch the Conductor's reaction when Angelina crescendos to those belts near the end of the song. If you were to continue to the very end of the vid she gets a standing ovation by the people there and the band.
Greate one again Dave. You are doing such a good job. Your comments are only getting more joyable and interessting, as you are so very into the music, and Angelina`s great musicality. And I can`t imagine any other than great things to see you and Angelina on a stage together. How could THAT be wrong. :-) BTW; - this military band of Norway was celebrating their 200 anniversary that year (2018) and planed for a projekt to mark the occation, - a record and a consert. They then came up with the idea to invite Angelina in on the project. By this they surtenly did a greate honor to them self, to their celebration, and to us, the music loving world. This way the lovely album; - "It`s Magic" came to be. This consert was the release consert to that album, and of cource both was a big part of the marking of their great anniversary. Thay played all the songs from the album. The two first originals by Angelina, "What is life" and "Oslo", was included on the record, allong with "Mans World", and 13 other great classic jazz & bluesy songs. Only 3 of them are done by the band alone. Angelina is singing all of the others. I love it. (Still available BTW.)
Dave, you're not the only reactor who wants to play with Angelina. A fellow reactor who sings rap music tried to contact Angelina so he could sing with her. I, personally, would be completely satisfied for her singing Happy Birthday to me.
thank you for putting into words what I have been hearing and not understanding why she affects me to my very soul- AJ has been the soundtrack to my life during this whole pandemic. She is my amazing grace
This performance to me is perfection. Angelina is completely in her element and in control. As hard as it is to say that I have a favorite AJ cover, whenever I see this one again, it soars up to the top of that lengthy list ... and I'm overcome with the power and finesse of her vocals. Have yet to hear another version of It's a Man's World that comes close... Loved your reaction Dave- keep going!! :)
Oh! She's amazing! I am so enjoying watching your reaction to this one! She sings it like it's just a thing... I wish the camera could have gotten closer. Love your "good pain" "stubbed toe" analogy. I don't think i've ever heard a better singer with a formal orchestra before. I enjoy how effortlessly she can sing these hard songs. It would be awesome to hear your sax covers.
Thanks for a great reaction. You are one of very few that commented on the interplay between her and the clarinet. That is what "makes" this extra special for me.
One of my favorite performances of hers.....so effortless and talented at 11 for gods sakes!!!! She moves me too Dave!!!!! Watch the conductor...he's in love with her and blown away by her talent!!!!
Thank you ! I would love to hear you playing saxophone ! Maybe you would like to react to Angelina when she was 8 I think (or 6!) in « I who have nothing .. » so impressive already !

Dave the rollercoaster analogy is perfect, also is on point your remark that she is message oriented. The rifs, runs, and other techniques she uses are in the service of delivering effectively a message. So focused...

Another great performance by this talented!! Young girl!!! Now with a song again i said it before pack a punch to my heart on how truthful the song is .
Effortless ! She is so humble. She does not know how amazing she is. Look at her when she finishes the song. The conductor is blown away and loon at Hythe band! I knew you will love this performance. Thank you i will recommend I rather go blind and Natural woman. Again another voice and another style 🎼🎼🎼🎼
You know, this is, for me, one of her best performances because she just thrives on this genre. This is where her groove is and when she sings these jazzy, soulful tunes she doesn’t hold back, it’s like she’s glad to be back home. Anyway, this performance is epic. If this was sung at night in a huge concert setting, I guarantee you, the place would be going crazy. If she sang this song and walked off that stage, the audience would be screaming for an encore, like they had to have more. She would become a legend right then and there.
Thanks man ! I knew you were gonna love this. The audio in this one isn't really the best, but we both know that that doesn't really matter, right? Lol. Have a great Sunday m8.
to me it does.... and cannot stand that screechy clarinet stepping all over her vocals like an opponent or a horse fly... Not when he leads or trails, but when he is ATOP her vocals here. Kongsberg show is much better.. just ask any blind man.
@@yousurf374 Yeah, i kinda agree to that, but I actually think her vocals and timing is better in this clip. But "Cry me a river" from the concert you're talking about is epic.
Hi Dave, Great reaction as always. There’s another not well known James Brown Angelina’s cover “I feel good” Its live and she’s 8 I believe. The quality of the video won’t be the best but she does some serious belting out lyrics. Please if you can react to it. I like your reactions. Keep them up.

I l’ve started by day with Angelina for all but 3 of those days. She is a gift to the world and I love watching new people seeing her for the first time. And I have to say. I love your analogies you use. So good. The hotdog. The roller coaster. Awesome. Enjoy the rest of the journey. You have a ways to go 😊
You found one of my favorites, Dave. Another great reaction.
i have never heard anyone sing this better then james brown, but she is way up there chanelling him. thank you for watching this video and giving us the jazz perpective. your awesome.
I'm sure if this performance had of been professionally recorded, it would have been on a whole other level.... :-)
BTW; - this military band of Norway was celebrating their 200 anniversary that year (2018) and planed for a projekt to mark the occation, - a record and a consert.
Exactly. "you have to move up with it" ... she's epic.
Yo Dave,
Angelina her voice is grabbing me by the soul. I am so glad to see here I am not the only one. Keep going bro..
Sooo, sooo great!❤😎👍🇸🇪
Dave, you're not the only reactor who wants to play with Angelina.
This Girl!!! ❤🌷AWESOMENESS!!!!
Thank you!
What makes Angelina special is that she is a storyteller, She tells her stories through song.
Wonderful that you get so inspired!
Dave it was a outside Preformance, she did get a standing ovation!
Well it was a man's world until January 10, 2006.
For me, Angelina is like an Angel, sent to us, during the most difficult times in our lives, to bring us love, inspiration, compassion, & hope for a brighter future ❤️💙 How can we not believe in something greater than us, when you hear her voice ❤️💙 ***LOVED YOUR REACTION*** ❤️💙
Dave the rollercoaster analogy is perfect, also is on point your remark that she is message oriented. The rifs, runs, and other techniques she uses are in the service of delivering effectively a message. So focused...
DAYAM !!! Everytime I watch this - I'm always freakin blown away like hearing it for the first time 😳😳🔥❤
Yes please get another sax !! I've only been playing my alto for almost 1 year but I love jamming with Angelina 💯💯💯
someone once said that God created Angelina so he could hear her sing. It must be true, she must be sent from heaven down to us.❤
Angelina and Norway's Staff Music Corps put out an album "It's Magic" and this concert was to celebrate the release of the album.
I never really believed in reincarnation untill I discovered Angelina...
You can't say that without telling us who you think she's reincarnated.
@@wilfbentley6738 guess the answer will be ‘all the classics’, except opera singers
I got " mustard all over my shirt" after hearing her sing this. Multiple times. 😅🤣😂
I always enjoy how she curtsies after every performance!
Smashed it!!
LOL, I lived in KCMO for 7 years in the 90's. That Mamba ref made me laugh out loud bro.
Now, you must watch 8 years old Angelina cover I feel good😁🤩
Already done!
@@whatitdodave 👏👏😘
You didn't react I feel good , you did feeling good, different song🤣🤣
@@yousurf374 I totally agree, but we got to remember this is a cell phone recording, after all. (Allthough it has been "cleaned up" a little).
Hi Dave,
Great reaction as always. There’s another not well known James Brown Angelina’s cover “I feel good” Its live and she’s 8 I believe. The quality of the video won’t be the best but she does some serious belting out lyrics. Please if you can react to it.
I like your reactions. Keep them up.
:-)) Love
Angelina has done it again her way with such ease. She's 12 years old, what a voice. The conductor and the band were into her and maybe throughout the practices she performed but it was even greater now, WOW !
This is the Norwegian Military band and Angelina did an entire album with them.
