Yep. Glad this is working out. Thought going in that this was the best system they've had: Known, equal draft picks to enable trading, 4-2-0 so 2nd places aren't killer, reset episodes to enable catchup, and the bonus points to keep everyone invested every episode. It's a great ruleset to keep it interesting through every episode and through the whole season. Even the bonus points ranked is probably 3rd place's as easiest (crack 1000), 2nd place's (never 3rd), and then 1st place's as the hardest (run the table).
@@thomasgraf1986 Yep, kept waiting for anyone to realize that's what probably happened. Don't normally have 3 minutes used up in the pool. I do wish the show would have just cut the recap before the crag down a bit to make some time, but what they did was cut the event. At least the event they cut was my least favorite in the whole show. I'd much rather have the high jump with the paint on the wall than this version of it where there's only 4 possible results. That one was messy, but there's probably some way to fix it up better than this.
@@ImRanchWilderno they usually tape them up as they go. So they have the 6’9 one up first then when they do the 7’5 one they tape that measurement as to not confuse people. So the biggest number you see is the one being jumped over at that time.

Insane episode. The new system is working AMAZINGLY. Absolutely insane how things fell perfectly to give Jimmy last this episode. Jean was two feet away from taking first in the water event and couldn't make it. That plus Meagan coming in 1st and Jean coming in last on the Crag by a split second was the difference that pushed Jimmy's contestant into last place. Also, Jake now not only holds the record for the only person having his contestants get DQed, but now has had the only contestant in GUTS history to cry.
Absolutely bananas trade from Jake. Haven't finished the episode, but trading away a nearly guaranteed win, potential for flawless, and probably a call your shot point is nuts
An all time great episode here. So many moving parts. I was skeptical of the new scoring system but this episode proved how crazy and fun it can be. Love it
Some say these contestants continue to paddle to this day, unable to reach the end of the pool, destined to live out a splashy and hilarious GUTS purgatory
19:14 Joez's love for Skeletor has risen to new heights after his love/hate relationship with Guy-Who-Does-Too-Much came to an end. I hope he doesn't leave after this GUTS season because Joez might develop trust issues
unbelievale they didnt just scrap that water event, probably the worst they ever did. we all wanna see jump jump it was always the best event next to the obstacle course
Somehow this week I completely forgot about Wednesday guts so this was quite the surprise today. Great episode. Interesting to see how that trade plays out.
Love the new rules and scoring system this season. The bonus points are a great idea, and I think this was the first trade in two seasons. It should be interesting to see how it plays out!
18:48 Am i a bad person for almost choking while laughing at how the cameraman gets a better angle of the girl crying after the worst single event showing of all time in the raft?
Great episode!! I have to admit I wasn't sold on the scoring (I like the big points and GUTS scoring), but the bonus points definitely make things far more interesting than the 3, 2, 1 or 4, 2, 0 straight scoring, which is just tie central
Trading BEFORE the reset to do a mini-tank to get a 1-3 swap after the reset was absolutely genius. Jake gets the next #1, the reset and two #1s in the back half.
Clearly they cut the third high jump attempt out for time because we just had to watch all three competitors thrash around in the pool for a full minute.
From one machine to another - pulling for purple this episode edit: woof that crag performance will be pretty tough to live down. she made it to the wall with a chance to win the whole episode and came in last.
For the record, this is the only time that all three contestants were disqualified and given third-place points for a single event (due to all three reaching the 60 second time limit).
It’s like they don’t tell the kids they’re RACING, fastest time WINS. I remember thinking that a little when I was a kid too. Meagan going from tears to saying she's sick of coming last to winning the crag is a hell of an arc.
Getting traded midseason just to come back and take 2nd place is awesome
I felt so proud of her! She showed some fight!
21:30 Jean stunlocked in the corner and then falling in the pool right as the clock hits 60 was the funniest thing in Guts since JR's hurdle jumps 😂😂😂

Jo is so badd 😍
It's crazy cause she was in season 1 sometimes and they hardly noticed her back then 😂
i've had a thing for mo for a really long time, but the presence of jo just makes everything so complicated 😓
There is no rivalry Mo is the goat! Jo is a wannabe 😤😂

The new rules on scoring are much better this season. I like the bonus points and the “call your shot” point too … This is going to be a SPICY season
Agreed, much easier math and I think there is a good balance of placement points vs. bonus points.
I really like the bonus points. I'm hoping they give power ups a chance next season

They found their stride with season 5. Great start with these eps and the scoring system is the best one yet. We even got a trade in there. LET'S GOOO
I just love how they recognize the people working the events. I bet Uncle, Skeletor and Joe never expected to be talked about 20 years later.

Honestly the best overall episode of WG! in my opinion. Had it all, excitement, emotion, heartbreak, and huge swings in points and action!
My favorites were the Jake DQ episodes lmao, his kid falling from the chain crossing and standing too far back in the softball event
I feel this is the best rules so far, games inside the game, actually trading, and players playing the game🤙
100% agree!
Joez - Jean looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt
I'm dating myself here, but she instantly reminded me of Kathleen Wilhoite from the Roadhouse (1989) movie.
Nah, she's gotta be Paul Rudd's sister or something.
I was thinking more like Ben Savage aka Corey Matthews from Boy Meets World

Joez always needs to know his pick number 😂
Of course Jake trades for someone & the next event they start crying. Jake really knows how to pick em.
Best show thus far, hands down! I believe they limit the pole height per the ages of the competitors.
For the record, this is the only time that all three contestants were disqualified and given third-place points for a single event (due to all three reaching the 60 second time limit).
Does this count as a spoiler?
I'm low key kind of sad now, knowing that we'll never see this happen again.
