We bought a Chevy Chevette brand new. Two years later it was worth $900. LOL. It got great gas mileage but was like driving a go cart. The brakes rusted on it within one year and my wife could not stop it. I still loved it.
If car manufacturers don’t realize people need a decent, new, $20k car, that will last 20+ years, and sell those. The whole house of cards for every manufacturer will eventually fall. Not everyone can afford a Denali or F-700050, with white Italian leather, heated seats, stainless steel body, and holographic projectors. Some can, and good for them. But the top 10% aren’t going to keep 20+ manufacturers busy for long. They can make enough cars for them, in a week, and there’s 52 in a year, last I checked.

My buddies f250 blew the 10 speed before 100k. Amongst the electronics having issues every 5 minutes and the "front end is better than dodges" front end has had issues every year hes had it.
The reasons fast charging causes problems in Lithium and Lead Acid are different but with Lithium it's worse. IE you get both dendrites due to the current and the electrolyte has issues due to the heat.
Nissan sure made a nice 2024 Frontier SV , especially the one I bought., previously owned a 2008 and then a 2017 Honda Ridgeline and very happy with my Frontier. I would have kept the 2017 but heard they were spinning # 2 rod bearings and mine was making noises so traded it in .
I just checked out a 2025 Nissan Rogue and I was really impressed. It felt like I was in a spaceship. The technology was amazing. My sister just bought a Nissan Murano and she said it is the most comfortable car she has driven.
No vehicle manufacturer is making high quality, low failure rate vehicles today. So, the person with the Explorer may as well keep it and hope for the best from it. Buying an older Toyota or Honda may be the best bet other than possibly a new Mazda or Nissan truck.

Passenger cars and trucks do not need 10 speeds transmissions. Like I’ve said 100 times, if my superbikes can go from 0 to 200mph with 6 gears, my car or trucks certainly don’t need 4 more to run say 100mph. I love the tranny in my tundra. 6 gears. Perfect.
I thought for years they were going to force us into electric cars. And the 30 year car note. As time passes I worry less and less. The problems with those cars needs to be known by every citizen.
If fast charging is a problem, why do vehicle alternators put out 60 to 100 amps. I realize that the vehicle uses some of that amperage as it runs (about 20 to 60 amps) and the regulator adjusts amps going to the battery, but most chargers have regulators. Are you indicating that to achieve the 80% charge in 5 minutes they are giving an unregulated high amperage to the batteries? Commercial level 3 charge stations can put out 100-500 amps, but the vehicle charger does regulate amperage to the battery to avoid overheating. Are your "shutting down" references linked to the Beach Boys song "Tach It Up" where they will "shut down" the competition?
5-minute charge?! The faster the charge, the more damage is done and possible weakening of all parts of the batter, right? Sounds very dangerous to me!!!

Scotty, quick DC charging requires 350KW lines PER car being charged. So if you have a 5 car Super charger setup, you need 1.75 MW installation....Ain't happening. Range anxiety. Charging problems. Cold or Hot weather mileage drops. UBER expensive to repair. Insane Depreciation. And now in Europe, they're starting to refuse them in underground parking lots. They're moving charging points away from entrances...AND, NOW they're taxing them just as regular cars. LMAO....EV as we have it now, is Dead.

No vehicle manufacturer is making high quality, low failure rate vehicles today. So, the person with the Explorer may as well keep it and hope for the best from it. Buying an older Toyota or Honda may be the best bet other than possibly a new Mazda or Nissan truck.

Passenger cars and trucks do not need 10 speeds transmissions. Like I’ve said 100 times, if my superbikes can go from 0 to 200mph with 6 gears, my car or trucks certainly don’t need 4 more to run say 100mph. I love the tranny in my tundra. 6 gears. Perfect.
I thought for years they were going to force us into electric cars. And the 30 year car note. As time passes I worry less and less. The problems with those cars needs to be known by every citizen.

If fast charging is a problem, why do vehicle alternators put out 60 to 100 amps. I realize that the vehicle uses some of that amperage as it runs (about 20 to 60 amps) and the regulator adjusts amps going to the battery, but most chargers have regulators. Are you indicating that to achieve the 80% charge in 5 minutes they are giving an unregulated high amperage to the batteries? Commercial level 3 charge stations can put out 100-500 amps, but the vehicle charger does regulate amperage to the battery to avoid overheating.

Scotty, quick DC charging requires 350KW lines PER car being charged. So if you have a 5 car Super charger setup, you need 1.75 MW installation....Ain't happening.
Range anxiety. Charging problems. Cold or Hot weather mileage drops. UBER expensive to repair. Insane Depreciation. And now in Europe, they're starting to refuse them in underground parking lots. They're moving charging points away from entrances...AND, NOW they're taxing them just as regular cars. LMAO....EV as we have it now, is Dead.
