It's so great to see you in a proper car Lee. No range anxiety, no looking for chargers that aren't broken, and no need to do complicated mathematical equations in order to work out whether you can make it or not. Isn't it a fabulous way to travel?
Yeah baby, can't beat a good ole American road trip! My family and I simply love them. Last time we were in Vegas,we put over a thousand miles on our hire car in a week! Great job Lee, loving this US series!👍👏👏👏♥️🏴🇺🇸
Great video Lee. I've driven from LA to Phoenix and then back via Tucson and San Diego, along the border. Brilliant drive, and like you, felt like I was in a movie.
Hey hun I loved that drive it was different .that road was very long . and you were very lucky to find somewhere to go the toilet . looking forward seeing the rest of this vlog hun xx❤
There are actually tons of places for Lee to stop from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, however, you need to get off the exits. California government unfortunately does not invest in rest stops and the private sector has filled the gap.
@@americanbobtail1 Quite a few states in the Southeast are like that. On I-95 in North Carolina I always remember getting off the interstate at Rocky Mount, NC to go to a diner etc.
280 and 17 only have one rest area between SF and Santa Cruz, and that’s going north. That said, plenty of exits go straight to a gas station. This is a short trip here though, not one you’d make every day, but not one you’d plan to stop on. For a nice drive you could have gone down 35 and 9 through the mountains, you’d have found Alice’s restaurant and redwoods for days. Oh well.
I recently rented a van from Enterprise in the UK & they took a £200 deposit on top of the hire charge ,but it was refunded a couple of days after I returned the van.
Aww well done to getting to 194k subscribers Lee , you will get too 200k before xmas guarranteed. We all ❤ ya x looking forward to this when I get home
In 1989 drove all the way from San Francisco to LA along the Big Sur. Had to get out of SF because we were hit by the big earthquake that October. We felt in the way and it was best to leave.
Good Evening Lee. You have to be very Careful when you are abroad. Hiring a vehicle, You have to find out Everything about the Hire and the vehicle, what are you Insured for, do you have to pay other Charges when hiring a vehicle. It is your Money you are Paying with and You hope that the vehicle hire company is a Good and Honest Business you have chosen. Rather a nice Toyota vehicle. No more having to Charge your vehicle Lee. Pull up at a Fuel Station and Fill up, nice and simple. Hope you Enjoy your Road Trip Lee. Visiting along the way, little towns and places of Interest and History. May have a very Safe Journey and arrive safely at your Destination. Jonathan/ England.
It’s good seeing my area on your channel!! Hope you liked SF and the bay area, I’m heading to Monterey next week, it’s work, only one day, but still enjoy my little one days drives out.
Mr Davey , When u picked up the rental I hope u took a video of the vehicle before u drove out the garage & queryed any scatches or bumps u may have seen while videoing. Good man yourself !! Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
I'm enjoying your California trip! I thought of you and Dennis Waterman talking about UK cop shows❤! Have a fun trip in Santa Cruz! Carmel is gorgeous too! Too bad you're not coming to Corona Del Mar! I agree we are over the top the radio announcer's and all the ads!❤
Services always seem hundreds of miles apart.. whenever I drive the Freeways I look for a Walmart! A wee, then a quite purchase at the Deki, for hot wings and potato wedges ! 😊
Truck stops are the American equivalent-Flying J,Pilot,Loves and TA. UK style services can usually be found on toll roads mostly in the Midwest and eastern parts of the US.
I have driven for almost 1000 miles in the USA in one day, yet I have no inclination to do anything remotely like it again. I like driving but not that much, 200 miles a day is more than enough of that nonsense whatever I am driving. The really crap thing about the USA is quite how far everything is from anything worth driving to. It drives, me ( see what I did there,) insane, and makes me very happy to be back in Blighty, where I can walk to 3 different pubs within 10 minuets. The UK is still a far more sensible place to live for many reasons.
In NASA my young son needed a wee but the bus couldn't stop (alligators). All the passengers shared a large Fanta and gave him the empty bottle to use.
I love Santa Cruz. Looking forward to your explorations there. Hope you managed to get some rest and feel better. You did look a bit knackered in this video.
A couple of weeks ago we rented a car from Enterprise in the UK when we visited. I am still trying to work out the charges to our credit card. Spanish banks do not show a hold and a charge differently. I hope it all sorts it self out in the end.
Look at that happy face in a car you don't have to charge. When I went to Florida I hired a car. Asked for one with a manual gear shift and got looked at as if I'd just stepped out of a UFO. My first ever shot at an automatic. For the first ten minutes I kept going for a clutch that wasn't there and hitting the brakes instead. Oops!
We want them but are not “allowed”. Diesel cars were popular up to 1985 with several European brands offering it as an option afterwards. Present day they are rare.
Sorry, no Cupertino font on this keyboard, but think your California vids are more interesting than usual and Picture quality is great. O.K, it's not Blackpool, but it's a darn site better than a dismal day in Hucknall.
What no Tesla?🤣🤣🤣 You know the American saying for needing a wee is “take a leak/whizz”. A lot(not all)of those Toyotas are driven by bad drivers here in the US like Peugeot drivers in the UK(Top Gear)🤣 Those fuel prices are on the high end for the US,the southeast US is half that much! Still waiting on that Chipotle food review since you are in the states now. Enjoying the videos 👍
Parked in that same car park on the 28th of August in Santa Cruz and it was $5 flat rate for the day. It was a Wednesday so they obviously make a killing at weekends..
@The MacMaster , with your bad back I cant see you riding the Big Dipper rollercoaster at the Broadwalk 😢 I’ve parked in the very same car park there. Look forward in seeing the next video, as I wanna return there one day & go on the train excursion
Hello legend. When you get rid of your taycan will that be it with your electric vlogs I love when you slag all the electric cars and infrastructure off.
The car rental firms in the USA are sods for charging a lot of extra's that you don't need at least they fell away after 2 days. Then you were stung again for parking, no wonder that the average wage in the USA is far higher than the UK.💲💯 Looking forward to seeing how expensive Santa Cruz is.😊👍💓
You should call Mr. Lee your credit card to see why you have all those things going bc sometimes those places scam people it happened to my mom not entertain price but with U-Haul she got fixed but still they can over charge you charges that you didn’t agree with and nice to see driving here in USA nice video
You have to visit Big Sur river Inn great place to stop if the weather is good go out back take a seat in the river And try and get some Taffy candy please
It's so great to see you in a proper car Lee. No range anxiety, no looking for chargers that aren't broken, and no need to do complicated mathematical equations in order to work out whether you can make it or not. Isn't it a fabulous way to travel?
I'm glad you're having fun. It's fun watching you ❤
Finally! A driving video that doesn't give me a headache from everything being backward.
Proper road trip looks great would love to do something like this, enjoy Lee!
Yeah baby, can't beat a good ole American road trip! My family and I simply love them. Last time we were in Vegas,we put over a thousand miles on our hire car in a week! Great job Lee, loving this US series!👍👏👏👏♥️🏴🇺🇸
Lee, you drove all that way without mentioning that you lived in America for 12 years well done
Did he?
Great video, loving the series, help to keep me entertained while in hospital.
We in the UK can only dream of roads like that with no pot holes. 😀
If you go to Carmel, I highly recommend you visit the mission church. It’s gorgeous.
I love your content been subscribed for ages! Never stop making content!
I bet automatic car , and I miss all the country music stations on the radio, I also lived in America 🇺🇸
The price of gas where you stopped is genuine highway robbery and I personally had a nasty experience with Enterprise rent a car.
I normally hate your videos and avoid them at all cost. But credit where credit's due this SF series has been good.
Thanks MacMaster. Enjoy your travel videos. I am old, disabled and don't get out much. Great job. Keep safe.
Loving it again Lee thank you. Love the US roadtrip/food/travel vlogs!
Lee you almost said Santa Claus. Get a rest and be ready for the next one.
Great video Lee. I've driven from LA to Phoenix and then back via Tucson and San Diego, along the border. Brilliant drive, and like you, felt like I was in a movie.
And ..... RELAX. 😅 Peanut butter baileys in hand. Loving this series. Another great vid Lee. All the best take carex

Lee we did San Fran then la then las Vegas stopped in the New York New York ❤😊😊
Wide open spaces, one downside to that is when you've gotta wee.
You should do a video tour of Birmingham West Midlands. Keep it up 👍🏼

Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
Good to see you also had Candy in this vid😀✈️🚂🚘
Love to do that across America Lee 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
US obviouslee know what your talking about!
Look for a jack in the box….and get a Kahuna burger or a cheese Royale with mayonnaise all over your chips…
Welcome to California Mac, I’ll watch for you if you get to Los Angeles.
Absolutely love that film ❤
Should have used the sat-nav for the nearest eateries. Also they've started doing Tena men pads now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wwwweeeeeeee love your road trips across America! Bustin!

You should have set up an interview with Clint Eastwood. That would have been a scoop for the channel.
Good grief those gas prices are crazy! 😮 Should have come to Arizona! 🌵
Services always seem hundreds of miles apart.. whenever I drive the Freeways I look for a Walmart! A wee, then a quite purchase at the Deki, for hot wings and potato wedges ! 😊

I have done this drive on the PCH Fantastic Road 👏
Petrol cars can have any side of the road they want. ;)

Hi Lee 😎 Another fantastic video.Rented a Petral Toyota, thought you'd rent your favorite car.A Tesla. That's a joke of course. 🤪
Lee looks more happy driving a petrol car 🚗
If you'd told me you were driving round the outer suburbs of Perth I'd have believed you.
I love Santa Cruz. Looking forward to your explorations there. Hope you managed to get some rest and feel better. You did look a bit knackered in this video.
I guess they had run out of Mustangs?
A couple of weeks ago we rented a car from Enterprise in the UK when we visited. I am still trying to work out the charges to our credit card. Spanish banks do not show a hold and a charge differently. I hope it all sorts it self out in the end.

Its $2.79/gallon here in new jersey.
It’s about the same here in New Mexico. Total rip off in Silicon Valley.
Never understood why the yanks don’t drive diesel cars more especially with the vast distances they drive?
Because petrol is cheap what do you think all those wars were about in the Middle East?
Talk to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air Resources Board) and you will get your answer.
We want them but are not “allowed”.
Diesel cars were popular up to 1985 with several European brands offering it as an option afterwards.
Present day they are rare.
Another great Vlog🇦🇺
RUclipsrs have driven from Morocco North Africa up through Spain and France to London on one full tank of diesel! About 1200 miles!
Nice little video mate bet it was strange not driving the milk float see you in the next one my friend
American stations seem to use K and L's in their names too.
The PCH is a fab drive pity you could not do it.
Sorry, no Cupertino font on this keyboard, but think your California vids are more interesting than usual and Picture quality is great. O.K, it's not Blackpool, but it's a darn site better than a dismal day in Hucknall.
Plenty of services all along the road, still got the leaves on as well for better screening.
For the next time you hire a car, you can buy excess waiver insurance in the UK beforehand for a fraction of the price of the rental companies.
200k your nearly there 🎉
Great guitars from Santa Cruz, have a safe trip
What no Tesla?🤣🤣🤣

I see from the key fob you are driving a Toyota! Good choice, a real reliable car! 👍
$25 for 3 hours parking!!! that’s robbery ! i thought we were getting ripped off here in the Uk ! Lol
Try driving in Dubai, also left hand drive, during peak times.
You'll know what driving really is
I nearly choked when I saw how much you paid for parking! Loving the videos, catch you on the next one
12:05 Credit card preloading: it's the same in the UK when you use a prepaid petrol station. They first debit the card with £100 then refund it later.
I’m looking forward to you tackling the streets of LA .😃👍
You should’ve gone to the massage parlour you walked past on the first video 😂. Yes, I spotted it……
Is it the same sun in California? I didn't know they had sky and clouds in California. Wow.
I love road movies. They're one of my favourite genres. You still haven't said whether the East/West coast cross America drive is still in the plan.
Datsun ? … how old ? 😅
Watch Harry Styles on Howard Stern doing Sledgehammer. A classic.

Hun how many days have you got left there xx❤
Got to be a soft top classic to live the dream.
Driving around aimlessly you lucky not to have met a serial killer.
What the hell is that stain on the back seat 💺 behind you Lee??? 😮 beside the seat belt?
You should call Mr. Lee your credit card to see why you have all those things going bc sometimes those places scam people it happened to my mom not entertain price but with U-Haul she got fixed but still they can over charge you charges that you didn’t agree with and nice to see driving here in USA nice video

You have to visit Big Sur river Inn great place to stop if the weather is good go out back
take a seat in the river
And try and get some Taffy candy please
How long did it take you from SF to SC? It's about 70 miles, ain't it? Also, Enterprise charges a deposit as you found out, some hotels do the same
Back pain?
Inflamed i presume? ,, avoid sugary drinks and ice cream choc bars like the plague.
Eat fruit. Great vid tho 👍🏻
There’s an American diner on the road before Llandudno…
Santa Cruz, is that atrip to the North Pole to see Father Christmas?
