Excellent! I’ve done this before using a phone book. You can put the knife inside the book using a lot of pages for consistant, somewhat safe pounding!

The sweet smell of success. Or is that the Canadian forest going up in flames? Man, I can't believe how quickly that has happened this year. Hope you're safe, my friend.

I tired that years ago with my 112 and YES it worked. The problem is that's there pin at the pivot came out (just a little) from one end. No big deal but noticeable.

Good tip. I would probably hit with the hammer on an angle and mar the knife. You have steady hands.

Do you think this will work on a 112 auto

Question,I have a buck 112 ,when the blade is closed the tip sticks up a very tiny bit, bit Iit can cut you if you run your finger over the knife when it's closed, can this be fixed or is this a normal thing for the 112 ?

Hi Mark. No this is not a normal issue. A couple of possibilities are: 1) An obstruction between the kick and the blade stop (dirt, object). 2) The blade has been sharpened so much that the profile has changed. If it is worth anything. Buck has a forever warranty that you may consider using. Hope this helped. JJ:)
