We just visited Oatman, cute little town. It was fun to see your view of the town and what it has to offer. We showed mostly the scenic parts of our drive.
Visited Oatman three years ago on a Route 66 road trip & was totally enchanted by the wild Burros. Such a sweet expression on their faces, especially when they hold up traffic for half an hour or so as they wander around waiting for visitors to feed them!
Good video. It's Topock, an Indian word for "Bridge" (not top rock). I remember travelling old route 66 for years, and stopped at a lot of these places when they were jumping. From Barstow to Oklahoma City, our family travelled old 66. Getting gas at Whiting Brothers, , eating at restaurants no longer there, hotels, roadside attractions. Even paid to see the pet rattlesnakes in the pit east of Kingman, but that day in 78, they were all dead. Thank you for these great memories.
Was just about to make the same comment Toe-Pac is how it's pronounced locally, however the intelligence of the local population in the area is just about the worst in America don't forget Topac is in Mohave County in the Mojave desert I also once heard Needles came to be because Hypodermic was well beyond the limited vocabulary of its founders. I had always assumed it was a joke however the longer I have been in the area I am really starting to think there may have been some truth behind it as there is with all stereo types
Omg! We actually went to all of these places a few years ago coming from the Grand Canyon! We loved Oatman and the donkey’s so much. Loving your journey, your bringing back some great memories for us. Thanks.
old man I think it's cool you follow, my Dad would have loved these and they remind me of odd trips he took me which inspired my wanderings on the back roads of USA. Watching Adam the Woo for years when not exploring myself.
Yeah there is alot of ghost towns here in Arizona where I live. Like Lost Dutchman's mine I've been to & Tombstone town. Arizona is full of history here whether it's of the natives or cowboys or old west trails
We are happily tagging along on this brilliant trek with you both Adam. Thank you for giving us this amazing opportunity. We plan to do Route 66 one day. . Kicks on 66 👍
Adam the Woo and Jacob the Carpetbagger... the perfect pair for this adventure. Can't wait for further installments of this epic roadtrip. Stay safe, Adam and Jacob. Love the way you interact with animals. Nobody does it better, Adam.😁😃😄😎
You 2 are doing a EXCELLENT job! Entertaining and fun. This is going to be a EPIC ROADTRIP ADAM. Thank yoy Adam & Jacob. The futures so bright Adams gotta wear Shades! (Adam I'm in Texas, I checked around and I couldn't find Buc-ees sunglass either)
So cool careful on 66 and in Oklahoma got a ticket last year almost doing the same thing because of the speed traps but it’s an amazing adventure. Cheers
Just got back from my own Route 66 trip. Love Oatman, Kingman and the that stretch of 66. I stayed at the El Travitor twice, this trip it was in the John Wayne room, right by where the map was being filmed, and the other time the window on that stagecoach was the window of my room. Cool stuff and great job!
Omgosh...I’ve been through so many of these places years ago with my (late) husband 💙and three kids traveling across country. Hubby was from cally, I am from NC. He never ever wanted to sight see while traveling. Thanks for so many memories. He did let us stop to use the port-a-potties😂🤣
Born on 66 in Kingman, raised in Bullhead, grew up going to Oatman, remember the Needles underpass, shot the hell out of the desert from Topock to Hackberry, infected w Necrotiizing Fasciitis workin cattle in Seligman where you ended day 2, had my life saved by amputating my leg at the Level 1 trauma center in '11 in Flag. I know all this country like the back of my hand. Only thing you missed was the Andy Devine history in Kingman where he was raised long before he was the Dukes sidekick. Very nice job. Love the channel
Good morning from Australia. So enjoying traveling with you both on Route 66. Love the rest room with the toilet paper outside. Love the motel with the longest map on it. Amazing. Haha the baby rattlers. Travel safely.
That was AWESOME! I would love to go on a road trip with you. You seem to notice things others don't. I love seeing these odd and cool places. You and Jacob have fun and safe travels to you both.
OMG!! It's like the good old days. Adam on the road!! I have missed you!! You make my day. I don't travel so I will never experience this adventures. Thank you Adam!!
In June I decided to go up the part in AZ from somewhere near lake havasu, up thru oatman, kingman and then went to flagstaff, then on to Zion national park, i did this alone and it was one of the best trips of my life! It was awesome up to Oatman, such a little neat place, I didn't have time to stop tho, I hope I can go again and spend more time checking out the spots...and Zion...oh, I think I left my heart in Zion...most beautiful place I have ever seen...btw...I almost lost my eyesight twice and now they are nearly perfect...I got to see it with these fixed eyes and I am so grateful to have been able too!
First time watching your videos, I know you're friends with Justin, but glad you are doing a different perspective on the route 66 experience! Love the old historical stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Day: 2 | Mission: Route 66 | Location: Arizona | ❤️'d it Adam, lol ..i got a chuckle out of the shoot out & the Donkey's. i Will watch it again later on today also "oh Yes i shall". Have a Good Day Adam, Safe Travels.
It's nice to see they are opening some things up. When I was there 9 years ago, we couldn't go upstairs in the hotel, and that mine was not open, nor did we see a skit in the street like this. Very cool.
Back in the 1850s, the U.S. Army bought a bunch of camels to test in the desert around Wickenburg and Quartzite. They hired this fellow to take care of them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi_Jolly I grew up in Blythe, which is south of Needles.
I have been to Oatman twice now, what a unique town. Love those little donkeys. My sister and I stapled our dollar bills on the the Old Hotel Wall. There are $1 hanging from the ceiling and walls, amazing.
Allright allright allright brother Adam and brother Jacob getting your kicks on Route 66! When you guys come rolling through Oklahoma there's an old VW bus and old puppy dog named Ranger who's itching to meet ya Safe travels!
Awe shucks. I grew up in L.A., Granada Hills and Northridge. Every summer my dad took 66 on the way to Nashville. Being 60 a lot of these towns were thriving. Thanks for the reminders.
Cool I liked this one Adam, I've drove through there this last July but we didn't have enough time to stop, I with I did now after watching this one, I'm a new bee to your channel.
I truly enjoy all your videos and so far I would say this one is the best. I am impressed by that rack of ribs..... Yum. That show in town was great especially when the burro walked right into the middle of it. lol. I guess it's time for a road trip, I will be starting in Texas heading west. God bless America.
Hahaha...!! You're so funny Adam !! 😂😂😂 I always enjoy these vlogs and it's even better with The Carpetbagger with you . Thanks for sharing Adam the Woo . Hope you had an Happy Easter yesterday .
Great video Adam. I was thinking about "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world' when you were driving on that road with no guard rail. That was cool, can't wait for the next one....Peaches
when the film convoy was filmed, they had recently replaced the bridge crossing from needles California and the old one still stood nearby. It had been built as a temporary in the late 1950s, but stood into the early 1980s. it was only a single lane bridge, making oncoming traffic wait. It was also used to film the icon explosion and crash of Kris Kristoffersons truck at the end of the movie
That underpass you started at, reminds me of the one in early scene in two lane blacktop, when they change the tires on their car and a train passes behind them.
LOL! Great vlog! I just like the donkeys just walking through like nothing is happening. lol Also those donkeys are like goats eating the bags too! lol
I remember Route 66 very well. My family was from Illinois. We moved to San Diego in ‘59. So, every Summer we would go to Illinois and see relatives, on Route 66. Both my sister and I have road signs that say Route 66. There was alway something to see. Where those big arrows are, is that also where the TeePees were? I think we stayed in them one night. I always bought a Indian beaded bracelet. I wore all the time. I really miss it, but we have wonderful memories.
Thanks for tagging along on the journey down 66 . Watch day One if you missed it

That Donkey was so chill, just another day on the job.
