Great video. I’m enjoying my Muse so much as well. One of my favorite things is making a sequence with one timbre and then creating an arpeggio with the other, stacking the timbres for some real awesome polyrhythmic capabilities
Weird compliment, but I feel like you got the levels absolutely perfect in this video. What I mean is the volume of your voice and the volume of your playing. A LOT of channels don't get that right. Or they'll have the voice duck the audio of the playing. It's highly distracting. Also, seriously love those patches. Keep making stuff dude !
Sorry for writing so many comments lol. I also was thinking how great it would be for Moog to implement knob-functionality in the same way Sequential does as well. Can’t believe it wasn’t a day one feature. That will really increase the potential for sonic sculpt-ability without those pesky jumping parameter values when shifting between timbres
Thats really unbelievable that this is not implemented. For me its one of the most annoying things to experience when playing synths when parameters jump without interpolation. Especially on a bitimbral synth where changing parameters between timbres is a big thing.
If you make a sound, how the heaven you are disturbed by jumps? When you perform i can understand but on many parameters if you are quick it doesn't matter also. No synth is perfect maybe it gets updated. Better make a feasture request.
This video is both awesome and inspiring. I have a Muse, so this a tutorial for me. Does yours randomly turn off the programmer screen? I guess due to avoid screen burn. I LOVE MY MUSE!
@@mattlowerymusic thanks for your quick response. I’m on Windows 11 and ejected via usb icon vs drive. I did eject the drive this time and noticed for the 1st time DISK MODE SESSION ENDED. I also deleted the file then replaced it in the muse drive. I’ll,see if this solves my problem. Thanks again. I look forward to more of your videos.
If you can't program these simple sounds you should better paractice than buying synth. How can you value a synth if you not can program at least easy sounds.?
I get your struggle. I have not bought a new synth since the Jupiter X day one. So i had a synth budget this time. Still may sell some stuff, it fills a lot of holes and a bit of overlap. Dig your patches and puns. I'm overwhelmed even after 40 years of synths. my first was a CZ101 second Poly800 then a Ensoniq SQ80. cant get sounds as good as Poly 800 with quick programming. It takes me a while to get deep sweeps and amazing pads. Leads and bass are a dime a dozen.
It’s great without the effect which I was happy about as like everyone else most of what’s available to watch is like you say drenched in the diffusion delay I can assure you it has a great sound I also have the Trigon 6 they aren’t even comparable the filter on the Trigon 6 is insane compared to the Moog
There are demos. There is a demo p5 vs muse. There you have pure oscillator sound. The oscillators are fantastic i thing. Very round but they are not very bright. The muse cut some high frequencies.
It's not that I think it sounds bad, but I feel like EVERY sound I've heard from it so far, out of hundreds of patches on various videos, is tney're all a bit bright and raw. I feel like I've yet to hear it make darker or smoother tones. Lots of fizzy and saturated stuff, but no colder or creamier stuff. I love the features and it seems really powerful, but I can't shake the feeling that there's something about the basic tonality that hasn't made me wanna pull the trigger. It's gonna sound like an insult, which is not necessarily intended, but I sorta feel I could get a lot of these sounds out of my Deepmind 12.
That’s a deeply personal and subjective decision for which there’s no wrong answer. I wouldn’t get twisted up over it. It’s ok not to like it, in fact quite good for the wallet!
Haha yes of course. It’s not that I don’t like it. It obviously sounds great for big bold bright tones, as shown in tons of videos. I guess I’m just trying to say that I haven’t yet seen the versatility I suppose I’d wanna see before plonking down $3500 for something. Make no mistake, this synth intrigues me greatly. Hopefully I can try on out sooner or later myself.
I thought the same thing on the Hydrasynth, but like most synths, we create patches for our own ears. There is warmth and creamy tones in most higher end synths, it just takes exploring 👊🏼😎🎹
The muse is like that. It isn't cold like the teo 5 for example. Maybe you don't like that. If you keep the two osc levels at about 35 percent you can keep it as clean as possible and you can try it out. The filter does saturate quickly like on the pro3. Its harden the sound. The mixer on the other hand not like they say, so its the filter. It just maybe not your sound. So why not ordering one and test it?
Meh..I have a Juno, have had a 3p,8p just sold them .. saying a Juno can sound 100 times more punchier and organic than a muse is a huge stretch..no owners bias here. There are people that say the deep mind can sound like a 106.. that’s just as false.
Ohh little baby crying.... Theres too much hate for just disliking it. Why you have to do such a comment. Have bought another synth that has features like a potato and now you have to downgrade it to defend your purchase? Don't have money? Because of inmusic or the big hype that bothers you? I would put the muse between the six series and the big guys and it flosts there. Where does your salt came from? A very complex synth with vintage kind of sound. Like a complex trigon. Whats wrong with that. Have you even test one. Can you program? Its one thing that you don't like the sound but such a extreme comment comes from salt.
@@markus6409 trigon is a POS… I definitely have the money 💴… now the space… now that’s another question. I am waiting a year to see what people can create with it but so far It sounds like junk 🗑️ my TEO 5 is very impressive on the other hand. Very impressed with OB/ Sequential
Awesome video Matt!! Thanks for the commentary and beautiful patch designs.
Thanks for watching!

Also great Reich pun. The way the Mod LFO phases differently with each different note makes this thing like a “music for 18 musicians” machine!!
Don't tell your occult tricks. Mindblowing stuff

I love 3rd patch.. please continue to share Moog Muse , subscribed!!!
Definitely would love to see you do more videos on the Muse.
Nice video. Enjoyed it very much.

I haven’t noticed but that would make sense! Check your firmware tho- there’s a little .1 update that fixes a couple things

Awesome stuff! Any chance you'd consider sharing the presets?
I need to look into how to offload them, and whether or not that’s ever possible!
Its easy as 1,2,3 but you forgot it hä?

id be so interested to hear dry poly patches on it,
everything u find online is drenched in fx

@3:54 🤣 Oh how I LOVE punny patch names! (might have to steal this one)
I am unreasonably proud of it :)
👍
Wow, I’ve never seen anyone use two fingers on black keys before. Is there a reason for that?
🤷🏻♂️
Why is it that there's no sine shape in the pitch LFO?
You can make one with the lag processor on a triangle wave.
No. 3

A Juno 60 can sound 100 times punchier and more organic.
Send me one and I’ll test that theory 😀
That is a bit risky. ;)
So you've never owned a Juno 60 OR a Moog. LOL
@@PacRec Shall I send you a pic of my Juno?

Hey , hate to be that guy... but what is your signal flow? It sounds great though, and would like to know!
Be that guy! It’s going into a pair of Rupert Neve Designs 511 preamps, and that’s all! Interface is a Cranborne r8
Sounds like polyphonic trash cans 🚮

Totally mediocre sound, sorry.. Soon, we can say that Sequential is the last bastion standing, among TRUE analog synth manufacturers.
Sounds wide full and Beautiful for my ears
Sounds as good as a prophet 10 to me, with more modulation.
Lol you sound like if a Trumper knew about analog synths
