Before the season 7 saber duel the two vs one Sideous against Savage and Maul was the peak of Clone Wars action. What I love about the duel is Sideous is just having a ball and toying with them like a cat
Very excited for this one. Love The Clone Wars and this is probably Sidious at his peak especially in the scene this depicts. Loving all the clone wars love their giving and hoping for some more before the end of the year (literally begging for Arc Troopers Echo and Fives).
I just hope that we will get Savage Opress in the future so you can complete the line with Sidious, Maul and Savage fighting. But knowing Hot Toys that might never happen.
I think it’s about the right size but we might be used to the oversized toys like the Hasbro one so it looks smaller. I do remember thinking that a 1:1 replica I saw seemed a bit too small as well

This Palpatine just begs to be displayed in battle with the 2 brothers and TCW Maul is already out… 😁 Anyway, I’ve been waiting for a Darth Sidious to place with his 3 Sith apprentices. Time to retire the 2005 Hasbro 12" version at last. The more vibrant robes and smiling face aren’t a problem for me, he’s supposed to still be the Supreme Chancellor in my display.
Second Comment One thing they need to do is give CW Sidious two sculptures. One with an open grin like the ROS and the ROS one needs a closed grin or blank expression. Same as CW as both of these versions are a lot more expressive than the Emperor I am definitely gonna get this version of sidious as I always preferred the slender characters in clone wars compared to the puffy Revenge of the sith which is more live action. And I grew up on CW. I’ve only just got back into star wars and I’m so glad they bringing this version of it and I prayed they did a few weeks ago just to find out they are. Definitely prefer this version with his slender design
Technically this IS the Revenge of the Sith version. Except for the mangled face sculpt. But, you could also say it’s the Phantom Menace version as well.
I dont care for this face sculpt or ros ones they both are inaccurate i would have instantly bought both if they sticked to exactly what he looked in cw and ros. This messing around "what if" bs with face sculpt is killing me. They got anakin from aoc right, why cant they do same to both sidious :/
Thing is it isn’t the 20 anniversary of the clone wars I mean it sorta is but not for the one this palps is based off of. It’s the 20 anniversary of the clone wars cartoon not animated. Kinda bugs me they are saying it’s the 20 anniversary but not complaining about the figure looks amazing
Not sure why his lightsaber hilts look like they’re so small. In ROTS while fighting Windu and Yoda, you can see Sidious use two hands on his saber in each of the fights, but they look like he’d definitely not be able to do that here. Not that big of a deal though, just something I noticed.
@@JustinsCollection Well actually I take it back. I went back and looked at set photos, and the sabers on the figure are actually not too far off. So I guess never mind then lol
I truly appreciate Hot Toys making this character, however, I would make slight modifications to the prototype. 1. The head, if you make lighting & contrast modifications to the scenes from the duel against Maul and Savage, Sidious eyes are in their Sith mode, so to call it. 2. The lightsaber hilts. Sidious's lightsabers are in fact to be one-hand held weapons, however, they are not one hand size, even checking the lore information of his lightsabers, the Hot Toys' version... they have the size that Yoda would use. I truly hope Hot Toys do realize about those details, and in turn make said modifications.
Can’t speak for other collectors but where is Savage Oppress and Assaj Ventress, we have Darth Maul, Darth Sidious is up for pre order, c’mon Hot Toys.
I really hope this means we got a savage down the pipeline, the only reason people would want this is to recreate savage, maul, and sidous dual, let's be real
