Slappy goes to a local drug store and uses his magic to bring halloween toys to life. The kids see it and don’t know what to do.

What’s the movie about?
Sonny (Jeremy Ray Taylor from It) and Sam (Caleel Harris from Think Like a Man) are best friends. One day, while picking up trash, they meet Slappy, a mischievous talking puppet, straight out of an unpublished book by R.L. Stine (Jack Black from Jumanji and The Holiday). Hoping to start his own family, Slappy kidnaps Sonny's mother (Wendi McLendon-Covey from Bridesmaids) and brings all his gruesome friends back to life, just in time for Halloween. As the sleepy town gradually swarms with monsters, Sonny, his sister (Madison Iseman from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Sam and a nice neighbor join forces to save Sonny's mother and thwart Slappy's plan.

So no joke in my opinion these are actually kind of scary...I love how they form out of the masks..I'm 36 and I still have my whole collection of Goosebumps in my library..I'm very proud of that..

It's honestly terrifying but also ingeniously stimulating watching a bunch of Halloween decorations come to life and the masks/costumes literally just form into fully bodied individuals.
This reminds me of those epic escape scenes that villains do to get out of prison lol

Bruh The first movie was great, Catchy story, Great CGI, Ect. Then there's this, The story had nothing to do with the cliffhanger from the original, Forgettable characters and as you can see on mostly the werewolf, The CGI went downhill real fast
Yeah, and the other monsters in this film were mostly irrelevant. Not to say it wasn’t nice seeing some like the Abominable Snowman and the Werewolf of Fever Swamp, but they just felt non existent. That’s why I like the monsters more in the first movie. They felt more alive, and as sentient as Slappy and Hannah, but in this, they’re just extensions of Slappy.

I find it so hilarious how the kids here were able to find info about Slappy online, yet the protagonist and his friend in the book ''the Ghost of Slappy'', which came out only a few months prior this movie did not even know how to find info on Slappy.

Little did Slappy Know it but he was not looking at a crowd of supernatural beasts, it was just a very routine crowd of walmart shoppers.
Slappy is bringing Walter the Ogre, Rubber Bats, Rats, Spider skulls, Witches, Zombie, Troll, Vampire, Swamp Monster, Abominable Snowman, Werewolf, Mummy, Undead Pirate, Red Vixen, Cyborg, Scarecrow, Alien, Boogeyman, Carnage, and Grim Reaper to come to life
He should have brought some of the Scooby Doo monsters from Scooby Doo 2 to life too
Like the Creeper, the Ghost of Captain Cutler, the Miner 49er, and the Tar Monster
Bowser's making his own monster army.
If only they had a skeleton on display, Slappy could’ve brought that to life then we’d get Curly

I remember back when this movie came out I found one of those short tie in books for kids that have a bunch of unused shots and descriptions of the characters, and there was one shot of the Goosebumps costume display with the original 90s Curly mask. So that means at one point he was going to be in it but they decided to cut him out for whatever reason 😭

Yes but if scooby doo monsters also joined the goosebumps monsters they would also be sucked back into the book along with slappy the snowman the werewolf Dracula witches the pumpkin king e.c.t

For some reason, it's alarming how animated Slappy is in the movies compared to his rigid movement in the TV show. I don't know why it's so alarming for me
The spell chanting of Slappy was a reference to Chucky from Child’s Play, using voodoo like incantations 😎

I’d like to see them make another Goosebumps show. Same idea as the first one. Take books and turn them into episodes. It would be cool is they did 40 minute episodes, but I would understand if they didn’t with Goosebumps being a kid’s franchise at the end of the day. The show could adapt a different line of goosebumps books like the Horrorland books. They would have to do the Return to Horrorland book from the Series 2000 books.

Slappy the Dummy was inspired by multiple characters and pieces of media, as well as memories of R.L. Stine's own childhood

@Kadiri Olanipekun Oh. I also heard that the main reason why Jack Black had a smaller role as R.L. Stine in this one compared to the first Goosebumps movie was because he was working on another movie that also came out the year as Goosebumps 2, "The House With A Clock In Its Walls."
I think that the 2nd Goosebumps movie didn't do so well cos lots of people were angry cos the characters of the 1st one....didn't appear in this one...and there's also some people that don't like the special effects that much in this film...but for me.....both Goosebumps movies are awesome....I love them both...and I would really like a third one....but I'm not sure if that will ever happen...so...yeah...

I see this as an absolute win
It’d be a pretty cool fan fiction idea, where slappy goes to the museum and brings the costumes to life. It would probably look really cool with the 10,000 volt Ghost, where his costume starts to spark, and then electricity starts being drawn to it. The costume glows and becomes animated, walking of the stand, before it’s face smiles, and he starts laughing. He grows larger and larger, becoming more humanoid too, before he has become a real monster.
