Striker part of Clipper lighters is removable, so if you for some reason want something smaller than an empty Bic lighter, it could be found from Clippers (Altoid survival kit etc.). Then again because Clippers are refillable they are not really "empty". Flints meant for Zippo lighters are made from softer ferrocerium alloy than the ones which could be found in disposible lighters (probably to save the roller) so they're easier to "file" with the roller than the original, besides they have also slightly larger diameter. There are also smaller magnesium rods, small enough to fit inside the body of an empty sawed off Bic lighter among some other tinder like jute string and wrapped with duct tape. That kind of solution which includes possibilty to make magnesium shavings and has a roller might be easier way to start the fire than for example with those really tiny ferrorods available for SAK.

That ferro dust out of the dead lighter was a great tip.

Thanks. It took forever to get it all out but just make sure it don’t accidentally get sparked lol I did twice before I held it way up away from the paper

Carrying on from what the other guy said about Clipper lighters. If you have three Clippers on you the inner parts are interchangeable, from the three you can usually get one working. The gas doesn't leak out in your pocket, they're much harder to crush when stepped on than a Bic. You can even drill a hole through part of it, put on a lanyard and wear it around your neck if you feel the need. For the (cheap) price of some Zippo flints and a can of butane gas these things keep going for decades, never had one break, they always get lost or are "borrowed" by a Bic user! I buy the Clippers where you can see the level of the gas and it's easy and quick to change the flint, there's no good reason to ever go into the woods without a 100% working Clipper.
