Seeing the F1 gearbox from this F360, it is impressive how much they have evolved from there to the F1 transmission in the F430 Scuderia and F599 GTO, which changes massively faster than this F360. We are talking if milliseconds, but they are quite noticebñy. And not to mention the new dual-clutches on the F458 and new F12, which are even better specially around town and in auto mode.

Ferrari does not make a true automatic. The F1 is a standard transmission with a computer controlled clutch.

Never did care for what the front bumper looks like. Reminds of some of these aftermarket body kits for older E30 chassis BMWs with the metal bumper. The kit would fit over the bumpers without having to remove them.

Only if you are a bad shifter and missuse the clutch. Then a F1-style woud care better for the clutch. If you are a decent shifter (and never ride the foot on the clutch or maintain the car standing on a ramp on the clutch), then you will care goodenough for the clucth and the wear will be similar (specially if you avoid full bore clucth-dumps from standstill, which are quite stressful)

Great video there Mr Pruett let me ask you so I understand with automatic clutch there is no clutch pedal is that correct the only pedals is the gas and the brake is that right? great car right there I would love to use that one as my daily driver 2004 Ferrari 360 convertible very nice car! have a good day Mr Pruett

Cool video, and the car actually shifts fast enough. When watching all these reviews of the early f1 boxes one might think it takes ages to shift or downshift when in real they work fantastic. Just one thing I'm curious about, does it hold your brakes on the hill?

No it doesn't which does mean I tend to avoid very steep hill starts.

You dont reverse in a ferrari. You continue driving until you come back from the other side of the earth :)

The only 2 Ferraris I've driven were 24 hour rentals. I drove an F430 manual and a 360 F1. The transmission in the 360 was horrible, worst transmission I've ever used. I know that starting with the 458 and Huracan those style transmissions apparently started getting really good

Does that Maserati Gran Turismo F1 trans work the same? I know they have a f1 trans that is similiar to the 599.
