Fibrous plastering and the making of decorative mouldings and cornice, like yours, is a very under sung art. Fitting them to wonky walls can be a ballache. Gyproc has a bit of flex in it, but sometimes needs pinning for support on long runs.
It's great to see the little wins. Who wouldn't want an old man like yours.
