I thought the idea of profiles was so you dont have to build corners up?
@@sidstewart7399 depends how you look at it mate, I see it as I don’t have to pick a level up every course when building a corner 👍 As I’ve said previously i wouldn’t usually build this way, but being the only bricklayer and it was really hot that day, it didn’t make sense to have loads of boards drying out trying to run it all in at once, breaking it down into smaller sections achieved the same outcome in pretty much the same amount of time 💪🏻🧱
@@MorganTheBuilder That makes sense...assuming also by having the profiles up makes it less susceptible to movement as you build up?
Wow, that's a lot of profiles.
Eeee ba gum lad
brilliant great tip thanks for sharing
@@StephenGreasley you’re welcome 👍
A demo saw is faster and easier 😮
You’ve really pulled it of fair play to you and brilliant bit of tumbling in from someone who knows how it’s done 🍀👍
@@shanesullivan5656 cheers Shane 👍 glad you like it mate 👊🧱
Nice fireplace Morgan 👍 We burn logs and on really cold days we let the logs calm down and add a small amount of smokeless coal on top. Turn the air up a bit until the coal catches then turn air down to min. When we go into room in the morning its toasty as long as we've shut the door before going to bed. We dont use out central heating cause the fire allows us to open the door in the evening to reg the heat 👍👍👍
@@Doug.... Thankyou 👍👊🧱 yeah we do exactly the same, we find if we light the fire in the morning and let it run all day it’ll warm the whole house 🔥👌
@@MorganTheBuilder What i meant to say is we only do that before bed. Close lounge door( room has no outside walls! ) and on really cold nights the lounge is toasty in the morning. We keep door shut as much as possible during the day and heat will generally last till mid afternoon. Amount of coal is what fits into a paint scuttle and to give an idea of size there are about 4 of them to a 10kg bag.
Well done mate nice work 👍
@@shanesullivan5656 cheers mate 👍🧱
Another Bricky who cant lay a brick with a full perp. Only use 10 bricks when building a quoin , everyone does it , except you . Apart from that best of luck , it's a great job !!

8"and 12" block are pretty much the norm here in the states in my area you get use to the weight man after 40 years lol enjoy the videos keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Cracking job😂
Nicely done once again and it probably won’t move again but just dot and dab plaster board just on that section maybe 🍀👍
@@shanesullivan5656 think there wasn’t enough depth to get dot and dab on, I can’t remember it’s that long since I did it 🙈🤣👍
Sensible repair Morgan. The bricks outside weren't damaged. Probably very poor brittle blocks. ? Lets see some more of the house and what's happened since January 👍👍👍
@@Doug.... yeah I call them type of blocks Rice Krispies 🤣 house is pretty much done mate just been that busy I haven’t had time to get the videos out, they’re all recorded though 👍
@@MorganTheBuilder That will be some good vids to watch matey👍👍👍
Did the hollow block get filled with concrete.?. Pointless having vertical rebar unless its encased in concrete
@@brucetindal7399 yes it did mate, I didn’t video that part but we filled them right to the top, then another length of rebar in the top, pushed down to meet the other one that was set in the footing 👍
@@MorganTheBuilder Cheers
You did some blockwork. Whoop dee, and doo.

You don't use a special fire resistant mortar for the fireplace?

Are u filling yur bucket in second gear😮?
Your trick worked, thanks for sharing that 👍 😊
You’re welcome 👍
When loading a lorry you always start loading first from the front nearest the cab.
Very relaxing watching you all.
hi matey, would you remove that black tar/bonding/screening stuff? Any advice on that?
Personally I didn’t mate, it was stuck pretty good so I just self levelled over the top with the correct Ardex Leveller. If it’s not flaking up I would leave it as it’s more hassle than it’s worth trying to get it up, plus I found out afterwards that it’s the bitumen stuff that’s likely to contain the asbestos so best off leaving it where you can 👍
@@MorganTheBuilder thank you too man ! 😀
Yo mate just doing my telehandler licence as we speak, I’m watching videos on what the jobs like but I’ve never worked on site before when starting do people give you a hand with advice or is it just jump straight on and get on with it. Some of the things I’m watching people do is mad to me lol
I’ve not got my license mate, I’ve drove them briefly in the past. For me it was a case of getting on and having an hour to familiarize myself with everything again then it just felt natural. You’ll be fine mate 👍
Great job Morgan
Cheers pal 👍👌
Nice tidy job once again mate as always - your a great bricklayer and definitely a good all rounder it seems 🍀👍 and the most Northernet northerner I’ve ever heard 👍
Thanks Shane 💪🏻👍 yeah I’d like to think I can turn my hand to most things 👌 haha, proud of where I come from 😎👍
Nice ladder kit that Izzy. Not a tall roof space up there. 👍👍
Thankyou 👍 no it’s not, good for extra storage that’s about it 👍
Love it Morgan, very relaxing to watch. Keep em comin lad 👍🏼👌🏼
Cheers Logan 💪🏻🧱
Not trying to hate, but you guys build retaining walls so much different than what we do here in the US. Why not form it and pour concrete? The added rebar would definitely make it stronger.
Hi mate, we do pour concrete in some instances, just this is a bricklaying channel, so Morgan focuses on teaching bricklaying skills
No weepers. Water pressure is going to build up at the back. Unless you run a perforated pipe at the back and fill with pea gravel. Tidy blockwork though.
That’s exactly what we did mate, 100mm land drain and 20mm gravel behind 👍
Keep banging them in mate. F-k the haters.
Cheers pal 👍🧱 some people just don’t have a clue 🤣
Wet your muck up
You should have back filled with pea shingle, and installed weep holes
We installed a 100mm land drain behind and backfilled with 20mm gravel 👍
need to raise your boards son save your back ..
Yeah mate I usually use stands with the boards, being up on the trestles though they sometimes wobble too much and fall over so I left the out for this bit 👍🧱
nice one ..as a retired bricky i wish i had done what i,m advising people to do now ..keep up the good work 👌@@MorganTheBuilder
@@kevinhalligan5283 Thankyou 👊👍🧱
looks like they are making a nice level plot out of some unusable banking
That’s exactly what they’re doing mate 👍
24:25 It's interesting to watch )
Learn the bond mate Stretchers change direction headers always opposite thats why your corners dont bond properly😮
Morg👌👊 still working hard, bedroom looks nice now, hope u all good mate keep em coming 😌
Cheers mate 👍👌
as a decorator of many years i dont think you will solve cracks in panels with hindsight they should be behind the raised panels. filling and a decorative piece of wallpaper inlet would still get a crease in it after a short time
Yeah I think I’ve made a mistake with it. I’m going to try some flexible filler, toupret I think it’s called 🤔, and see if that works. If not then I’ll just have to write it off as an experience 🤣
Looking good ( That room) 😁 Bit of deja vuu with your bed. I bought an ottoman from Argos over xmas. Assembled it and the whole issue was 200 mil or so longer than a standard divan bed of 1900mm. Where youve got your dressing table we have a full height Ikea sliding door wardrobe. Standing back and admiring it i realised there was hardly any room to shuffle sideways through the gap 🙈🤡. Had to buy another divan bed to solve the problem. 😂😁
Haha, we double checked the sizes and marked everything out in the floor with masking tape before we ordered anything to avoid hiccups like that 🙈🤣👍
@@MorganTheBuilder Strange thing is-- some ottomans are 1900 long and others are 2100 plus. Never thought of marking out cause i didn't think the lengths varied. That cost me. 🥲
Looks great Morgan 👍 enjoy your lovely home 🏡
Thankyou Mark 👍
would this works over a really long distance?
Should do, the ducting is essentially a long vacuum hose, so long as it’s sealed proper at the other end it should pull through 👍
@@MorganTheBuilder thank you, may be a stupid question! But why wouldn’t one put the cord in when laying ?
@@Suzanna-wh3nr they don’t come with the cord in and the ducting is either a big coil or long lengths, it’s just simpler to do it this way afterwards 👍
See was a stupid question lol , needs a business selling pre installed ropes lol
@@Suzanna-wh3nr not a stupid question at all, if you don’t know then you don’t know. Some ducting does come pre-installed with the cord, just depends on manufacturer I guess 👍
Footing should have steped wall not battened correctley looks like no drainage out lets built in
Are you a structural engineer? Why does the footing need to be stepped? The site isn’t on a slope A 4 inch land drain was installed afterwards, and the wall backfilled completely with gravel
@@MorganTheBuilderthe step gives the wall more purchase on the footing, glad you remembered to put in drainage but it should have been at the back of the battered block work but you left your footing very tight but still and all a tidy job
@@brendanmalone463 it’s just how it was designed mate 🤷♂️ the footing was tight because it was as close to the boundary as we could get it
thinking of building a brick shed with a bunker under it. do you think i should do the walls like this? id be digging like 8 ft below ground level. id expect it to hold with the walls being that thick?
I’d suggest using the hollow blocks with rebar and concrete, two skins of that tied together would be bomb proof 💪🏻 probably be cheaper aswell 👍
@@MorganTheBuilder thanks for the response!!
@@ke161co no worries mate 👍🧱
Mortar galore to build that monster
Deffo mate, think we did 28 tubs on this wall 😱💪🏻🧱
@MorganTheBuilder hope it was worth it 👌
@@geraldhalbert2542 it was mate we made a decent coin out of it 👌🧱
Would have been nice if they had worked the corners to have worked blocks instead of having to do all those cuts in those whatever Nm concrete blocks.
The owner wanted it as tight to the boundary as possible, this is the best we could do to ensure we still got a good bond in the corner 👍
